With this video I removed the armature plate and replaced it because as seen in video 1 it didn't have enough holding power to fully ramp the sprague.

Polaris Hillard clutches are not understood well and mine has been a bear to figure out. I have a bent axle and it is uncommon so I wanted to show what to look for, also see the clutch does not ramp fully. Video part 2 has this assembly repaired with a new armature plate.
24vac control transformer grounding
Переглядів 1,1 тис.5 років тому
This is just a crude to the point video hoping to speed up someone's day. Remember to isolate one wire of the secondary/24vac side of the transformer to do this test. Some transformers are grounded through the shell of it but this one was not. This repair your seeing me do while making this video was caused by 24vac hot being confused with common/ground. So when the 4-20ma wire had been connect...

TRIBUTE TO KEN BEISLEY/ a little evil 2013
Переглядів 7811 років тому
On easter sunday 2013 Ken Beisley had a quad roll over on him causing a serious injury to his chest and needing time in the ICU to recover. Six days to be exact, I had brought my homemade rail up for him to view and enjoy on easter and decided the next day, april fools that I would scare the girlfriend on video and put it on his facebook as a welcome home surprise. That screaming is real folks!...

    You said DC common. Did you mean 24v AC common?

      @nathanbeisley 6 місяців тому

      The work common it problematic. That service call had a 3000$ ultrasonic valve ruined by a technician believing that 24vac was floating and not grounded. The applied the wires in reverse and then stated their is no way to know. Somewhere on that board a physical path to ground is created to pull one side of the transformer low and that is what needed identification. The ovdc could be in common with the 24vac ground.

      I have 11/2" sch 40 gas pipe welded to a 11/2" x 3/4" steel, not grey cast iron adapter. The jack hammer has the end cut off and those welded on. Works good.

    Was thinking that it might work - so checked YTube and lots of people are doing it. Will be a cheap, quick and easy way to drive posts around between the wooden posts. Thanks for the vid.

      RelentlessHomesteading the lighter you can make the adapter for driving the post the more force will transfer into driving it in the ground. You can weld up an adapter in 1 1/2 hours.

      Thanks - was thinking of it being heavy - but physics don't lie.

    What size jack hammer and where did you get the bit for the t post? Thanks

      spearo life, the hammer is sold on ebay, stark demolition breaker 2200w 1400 rpms 115v 60hz. watch out for voltage and hz because a lot of breakers are sold over seas. I made the bit with the bit it came with. I shortened it with a band saw and ground a taper into the end just like a piece of 3/4 gas pipe. next I cut a square cut on a piece of quality 1 1/2 gas pipe 10" long and beveled the end for welding on it. after that I purchased a steel, not gray cast iron but steel 1 1/4 × 3/4 threaded bushing reducer and cleaned it with soapy water. Then I drilled 4 holes in the edge of the 1-1/2" pipe about 3/4" down equal spacing and about 3/8" diameter, and preped to weld. last take the bit you cut and tapered, install into the hammer, square up the bit into the bushing adapter on a concrete floor and turn it on until it wedges all the way down and is flush sticking out the other side. Weld the inside surface as this is what strikes the t-post and also weld the top. Now install the bushing into the pipe using again the jackhammer to seat the bushing and check for true Ness and weld the shit out of the ground top of pipe seam to bushing location and the 4 holes to the bushing inside. (NOTE) the lighter this assembly is, the more striking force it will transfer into the post. I expecially like that I can drive a post at 45 degree angle and use it to stretch against. good luck.

      Thanks for the detailed response, I have hard clay soil with no rocks. Do you think it will drive a t post in that type of soil? I have a welder or I see they make a bit for posts but it's around a 100 dollars with shipping.

      spearo life I think even at a reduced pace it will be better than doing it by hand. I have a ton of tree roots and rocks so I put this thing together. I think you will be fine in clay.

      Nathan Beisley for sure it's better than by hand. I have hundreds of posts to install, I need a better way. Is your bit holding up to the abuse?

    • @nathanbeisley
      @nathanbeisley 7 років тому

      spearo life it is yes. I have a mile and a half to put in and my plan is to use a generator in a pickup truck or better yet a trailer if you can fit it with me in the back and a driver. I should be able to knock out a post every 2 to 3 min.

    @nathanbeisley Sweet, keep making videos. I'm going to the dunes next weekend and should have a new video up a few days after. My brother has a 2 seater sandrail with a worked 1835cc VW. I'm taking my go kart to run in the forest behind the dunes.
