No, this is not a mod. You invite a friend by going in your menu and selecting "Multiplayer". If you are hosting, you got have the Furlcalling Finger Remedy which you can purchase from merchants or you could craft them. As for the person you want to invite, they need have the Tarnished's Furled Finger so you can invite them.
