    I don’t doubt you’re good, but the amount of time you’ve spent with these families is questioning. Do you have any training at all? Experience as well as training is vital. Paediatric first aid is vital, but an early years educator diploma, it’s more than being good with kids. All really crucial for a well paid nanny. Not being qualified and getting the job would be a red flag. Get qualified, it’s more than getting the laundry done.

    • @ecoprincess

      Thank you for your concern! My training entails working as the following: babysitter, children swim instructor, summer camp counselor, and as a floater in a daycare. At the time I was CPR and First Aid certified considering it was a requirement for these positions. Both my parents are teachers and I knew that was not the path I wanted to take. Getting a diploma is a great step but not needed to succeed in this position. Experience with children of all different age groups will teach you more than sitting in a classroom. Perhaps this comment was a projection of how you feel about yourself and not really about me. Something to reflect on.

    Great advice. Families expect you to do just about everything plus watching the kids. Dog duty dishes laundry clean kitchen etc. Most family do want to pay what we are worth.

    • @ecoprincess
      @ecoprincess 3 роки тому

      honestly the way I learned was in a daycare setting and I had other women around me showing me and helping me learn how to take care of them. I wouldn’t recommend jumping into taking care of an infant with no prior practice. I would recommend spending time with a mom and baby if you can (someone who is a friend or family) and just getting a feel for what taking care of a baby looks like. Or start getting practice in a daycare setting

    As a parent and previous “manny” for years, the idea of taking a job caring for someone with cerebral palsy and quitting on them because carrying the person you were supposed to be taking care of was too hard on your back and because you didn’t like the “vibes” is irresponsible and entitled. Put yourself in the parents shoes who paid you well and relied on you for some brief respite. People trust you with their child’s life. Have some respect and empathy at least for the people you quit on.

    • @ecoprincess
      @ecoprincess 3 роки тому

      First of all I was not even technically hired it was simply a trial period, a contract was never signed. Which I stated in the video if you watched it thoroughly. Secondly, when did I ask for your opinion? Considering you aren’t me? Considering you were never there? Crazy don’t think I ever did! Thirdly, considering it’s my life I can decide for whatever reason to not continue with a certain job. It doesn’t have to fit into your moral compass. Fourthly, I never quit BECAUSE he had cebral palsy soley, there were many issues with the other nannies and family that I found overwhelming. And if you watched the video instead of simply typing a hate comment, you would have heard the other reasons I didn’t want to stay. Finally, the fact that you took time out of your day to write this mean comment is honestly sad. There is nothing wrong with having an opinion, but it’s like an asshole everyone has one but not everyone has to see it. In the future try not to just assume and ask questions instead.

      @@cariwiechers5770 just wanted to let you know that I discovered when I quit caffeine and also no more glass of wine here and there - so no caffeine at all and no alcohol at all, my back pain 100% disappeared! Like the first week! Caffeine would make my low back muscles so tight that I could not stand it. I would wear a back brace to work, use lumbar pillows, wear super cushy shoes, take epsom salt baths, take ibuprofen, and I would try to do a yoga stretch or something and it would just tweak my back out because my muscles were SO tight. And I wasn't even drinking coffee! Only tea! So, yeah, I now feel like I can nanny until 70 or beyond, as long as I stay off caffeine and keep up my pilates and I am 50! Just hope I can help others out with this, because it was like a miracle to me!

    For those needing experience childcare centers are desperate for help right now (summer 21) get a "floater" position so you can work with all ages. Find a quality center (look at reviews and violations) You can learn a lot from your coworkers and get great experience with all ages.

    What is a reasonable pay for a live-in nanny who watches 1 kid from sunrise to sundown, cooks breakfast/lunch/dinner and does house keeping? (Laundry/cleaning) and is included in outing activities like if the parent wants to go to the mall and takes the nanny for help. What’s a reasonable monthly pay?

    • @ecoprincess
      @ecoprincess 3 роки тому

      I would say $20-$25 an hour. If you look on indeed for wage reference you will see jobs being offered that are around that, with those type of job descriptions. Do not feel bad or guilty to ask for a raise because majority of the time they have the money for it. I used to get paid $1600 (salary) every two weeks as a live in nanny but in comparison to my hours and effort it was like $10-$12hr and wasn’t worth it for me personally. So depending on the amount of hours you do weekly multiplied by at least $20 is what I think a reasonable pay is. I hope this helped :) any other questions lmk
