    My dad grew up in Tomahawk in the 1930's to 50's..He shot a lot of deer growing up there..He trapped wolves and a black bear back then too.. He moved to Montana after living in Alaska..He was quite the outdoorsman.. I still have a lot of relatives in that area today..Hello Rod and Sambo!

      Yeah I never like to see animals suffering. I know of one neighbor who actively hunts coyotes but I don't know of any neighbors setting traps. That doesn't mean it's not happening though as I don't get a chance to talk with many of the neighbors around me.

    • @715trailcams
      @715trailcams 14 днів тому

      Thank you! ❤️ I'm by no means an expert, lots of trial and error to find good placements. One thing I learned if you are trying to cature animals other than deer and larger mamals is to get your cameras lower to the ground. Sometimes just a foot or two from the ground. Especially in the early sping before the foliage gets too thick. In summer camera placement tends to creep higher as the woods grows in. In the fall it will go back down when the woods starts to thin. Then winter as the snow starts to pile up camera placement will need to be moved higher again. As for where to put the cameras, it's a lot of scouting and guesing where the animals will be. I've found spots I thought would be great but ended up having low activity. When this happens you just need to move the camera and try different spots until you find something productive. There are areas where I will put a camera for certain seasons as well then take down for others because of the animal patterns changing with the time of year. Again, I'm really no expert. It's a lot of trial and error to see what works. I'm glad you like the placements though! 😊

    Wow! That was fantastic. That coyote must have gotten its toes pinched in a trap. He got an education that is going to make him one smart critter. That fawn sure is one enormous bundle of energy. Hello Ken! I hope the coyote has a quick recovery. I would hate to see it dwidle away due to not being able to acquire enough food. Another fantastic video. That fawn sure loves that creak. I see the zipper on the left side of that one doe is finally growing over with fur. Bow are you ever getting some nice bucks. That 8 is a beautiful wall hanger. That bobcat seems to be quite at home by the pond. Well take care and thank you for sharing your videos. Looking forward to the next one already.

      Hello Ken! I'm sure the creek water feels good for the fawn to splash around in when the weather is warm. Yeah the left side of the doe is looking good, much better to look at now compared to when it was fresh and raw.. That 8 point is nice one. I harvested a simliar 8 point three years ago on the property. That was the first and only deer harvested here as I do most of my hunting elsewhere. The bobcat was very active this episode and looked to have some good luck harvesting some prey. Great to hear from you Ken!

    THANKS for the Clips! I was up for July 4th, then again last weekend. The woods was SO DRY when we got there. No puddles in the woods. No grass where it would usually stand a mowing. Then we had a DELUGE on Friday Afternoon. I don't have a rain gauge but I'm guessing at least several inches, it washed out some roads. THEN the Power was out for a few hours. That's how MY short Vacations go. The Acorn Crop appears to be good again this year though.

      Hello CJ! Glad you were able to make it up a couple of times recently. It's been raining a couple times a week and more wet than normal by me. Lots of sand up here so even with lots of rain it drains pretty quickly. Sorry to hear you lost power during your time up here. We had quite the bumper crop of acrons last year. If we have a similar year the animals will be eating well. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment! 😊
