    Great essay, I enjoyed it very much. I never knew dude wrote it for his unborn son, it makes a ton of sense, you can feel the terrible acceptance of death, of wanting your kid to be ok while knowing they’ll have to die one day. This is one of the few games that feels like it has people in it, like it’s not an empty dead void

      As someone who experienced childhood trauma, I'm sure he found himself wondering what he could do to help his own child should they experience something horrible like he did. I feel this entire work was his finding a way to soothe and heal his own inner wounded child and creating a work of art that was experiencable for the purposes of guiding and reminding that this world is one of contrasts. Horrible ugliness, selfishness, and evil, but also beauty, selflessness, and Love. Just like that one piece of media he saw as a child scarred and traumatized him, so to can a piece of media be used to heal. Its a 40 hour spiritual journey that needs no great knowledge or understanding to appreciate. It resonates with the childlike innocence and beauty we all once had and reminds us that we still have access to it. Knowledge of evil need not eclipse the experience of good, not its expression. Thank you for this journey Peach Doors! You are a phenomenal human being.

    Great video! I'm impressed by the hard work and effort you put in and the quality shows, even though your channel is small. I was fortunate enough to play the game at release and it has stick with me ever since. I loved the test that Poo faces at the end of his section, which really seemed to challenge conventions. I loved the part where you drink tea with Mr. Saturn, who encourages you after a really big difficulty spike. And the rnding, where you get to walk around to all of the areas of the game and find tons of unique dialogue always felt like a very satisfying ending. I love this game and I'm really glad you made this video! Thank you!

    Back To The Future contradicts its own rules whenever it suits the plot. I think that pretty much disqualifies it from being “incredible”.

      What makes this movie good to me is how the characters learn and grow, among other things, as I talk about in the vid. But I can understand why certain logical elements might hold the movie back for some.

      @@peachdoors Yeah like for example: Marty starts to disappear because he wouldn't exist in the new timeline that was created, yet when Biff makes a new timeline the Time Machine wouldn't exist yet the Time Machine doesn't disappear.

    Why is the kiss disturbing? Marty did not kiss his mother; his mother kissed Marty as Marty was backing away from her. Marty's mother just thought Marty was just another boy and she had no idea he was her future son. It would have been disturbing if Marty gave his future mother the tongue, but he did not. He retreated as far away as he could, backing into the door before she kissed him.

    • @peachdoors
      @peachdoors 4 місяці тому

      I say that it's disturbing because it's clearly a very uncomfortable situation for Marty. But yes, your scenario would be disturbing as well, maybe in a different way.

    One reason why a remake wouldn't work is because of the timing. The 1980s and the 1950s had that right balance of modern and old-fashioned, respectively. A teenager in the 2020s going back in time to the 1990s wouldn't look particularly out of place since clothing , including underwear and sleepwear, wasn't all that different. The biggest changes since then relate to the internet and home entertainment and smart phones.

    • @catapultato1733
      @catapultato1733 4 місяці тому

      Fun fact: When designing the world of the 1950s, they had to exaggerate a lot of the features because they thought the '50s was too similar to the '80s. Theoretically the same would happen if a remake were made (though still hopefully they wouldn't).

    • @hazystudios
      @hazystudios 4 місяці тому

      Yes when watching movies of a bygone era our minds tend to focus on the differences rather than the simularities. Some old movies don't contain enough to seem that out of place. Smart of them to add more distinct stereotypical details.

    4:50 both of they scenes had rain on the road , the reason Michaels scene looked sunny is because it was used in the movie, Eric's looked dull (cloudy) because they didn't use it, there was no reason brighten it up, all deleted scenes in movies look dull as it costs money to sharpen the image of film reels, that's why they don't waste the money or time to fix it in post-production when its not going to be in the movie
