COOKING 🍳 , CAMPING ⛺️, FISHING 🎣 OUTDOORS 🌳
We do a lot of cooking including BBQ, grilling, stews, and meats! You’ll see some “how to” videos but, mainly it’s you following me as I prepare meals.
If you follow a Keto style meal plan, this will be helpful. Lots of meats and fresh vegetables
Do you like camping? There will be some of that sprinkled in. Especially camp meals on the fire and homemade dehydrated meals.
We do a lot of bass fishing, out of a kayak and boats, with a focus on local tournaments in the Raleigh, NC area.
2025 is the year of doing some fishing content again!

How to make the EASIEST low carb high protein pizza
Are you following a low carb lifestyle diet? Looking for a quick and easy snack or meal recipe?
Well, here it is!
Low carb tortilla pizza recipe. So simple to make and you probably have the ingredients already.
This recipe I used cottage cheese as the “sauce” super high in protein and good fat.
I’ve also made this using queso as a sauce.
Preheat the oven and your stone/pizza pan to 500. Move the oven rack to the highest point. These take around 8 minutes, I do like to get the edges very crunchy.
Cut into 1/4s or 1/8s and serve!

Bass Fishing Buckhorn Reservoir, NC in the Cold
Переглядів 1247 годин тому
My college football coach, Coach Powell, and I went to Buckhorn Reservoir in 30 degree temps to get on some winter bass. We were supposed to be at Falls Lake, but Coach had a trailer issue and we audibled to Buckhorn. It was a tough day fishing. Post frontal, blue bird skies, and a lake we were not familiar with made it a tough bite. I caught one 1.5 lber, but we had a good time and got to mark...
DIY: Make easy no melt suet cakes for birds

A quick and easy recipe for no melt bird suet that will bring in the best birds! The winter time is my favorite time for backyard birding here in North Carolina. Providing different kinds of foods and especially those like suet that are packed with great ingredients will bring in a wide array of birds.
Backyard Birders: Do this or you won’t attract the best birds in the winter!

Feeding suet in the winter months brings in the most colorful birds around. This is an easy recipe you can make at home and it only takes less than 20 minutes! 1lb block of lard Same amount in crunchy peanut butter 2 cups of bird food (suggest black oil sunflower and safflower mix) 2 cups raisins 5 cups oats 5 cups yellow corn meal Heat peanut butter and lard until liquid Mix all other ingredie...

I cooked chicken thighs that were marinated in baking soda 1 tsp corn starch 2 tbsp white pepper to taste oyster sauce 1 tbsp dark soy sauce (added this by accident) light soy sauce 1 tbsp Chinese cooking wine 1 tbsp Water a couple tbsp Massage good and refrigerate at least 30 min. I parboiled the meat for a few minutes, drained, then it went...
BREAKING NEWS: Is Kayak Bass Fishing Dead? No Hobie BOS in 2025
Переглядів 236День тому
Hobie BOS, one of the top kayak bass fishing trails in the nation will NOT have a 2025 series. This is huge breaking news! This leaves one national tournament trail, BASS. Two years ago, kayak bass fishing was taking over the outdoors world. Now, we see a decline in numbers and we are all asking if this is the end.

Nice on! Keep catching fish like this and you'll be on your way to making a fishing youtube channel!
Brother you are balding what are you talking about? It’s a receding hairline nothing to get upset about. The fucking army took my hair when I was 19 and never gave it back. Now that’s something to get mad at.
How dare you 🤣🤣
Brilliant
It comes naturally 🤣
@paulheels i can tell!! 😏
Voice athlete?! 🤣🤣
🤣 ballers gonna ball
Always a good day when you can go Fishing! Nice Bass
That’s a fact! Thanks. There are some bigs in that lake. Can’t wait to find some
Its so hard to call in my opinion. A smorgasbord of reasons really. The economy being one like you mentioned and everyone going back to work. Up here in the northeast we’ve had big trails stop coming around which inevitably gave us a few more entries in the local derbs but we also have other local derbs starting up that barely gets any attendance, which brings up the question of over saturation. Then you have the simple $30 month long and season longs that a guy could settle on and never choose to fish an in person derb…😅 so much going on that its almost hard for anyone to have a grassroots tournament tenure that can draw the kind of field that say a bass boat tourney can. Hopefully were just inside an ebb and soon it will switch back to flowing!
Our local clubs avg about the same number of anglers as the local boat tourneys. Then you have Queen City in Charlotte that averages around 100. As a NATIONAL series we’ve seen the Mecca of kayak fishing, 2021-2023 seasons.
bassmasters tournament is all southern states. you can hardly call that a national tour.
@@mattscheible6071 2025- Arizona, Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma, New York, Texas. About as spread out as you can be across the country
@paulheels spread out, yeah, but they completely ignored the Midwest. They could do so much better if they thought outside the box.
It’s bass fishing. Thinking outside the box won’t happen. The box is wrapped shut with gorilla tape and locked inside another box. Haha
yes its dead. its been dipping in attendance since its invention
We’re going to find out sooner than later for sure
Said a year ago Hobie and Bassmaster should merge. Now the community knows why.
We’ll see how long BASS can hold on.
Wtf
Yep. Gone
Ummm mm
Dead, dying, or just needs resuscitation?

@@luisvillarreal4743 thanks hoss! Smoke you a turkey for Christmas! Holler at me if you need anything
Good video
Thank you.
I had no idea you cook american bacon before slicing and storing.. In the UK all our bacon is raw and if we buy it at the store we cook it sliced from the pack. Is this typical for american bacon? I thought it was cold smoked
@@N1337w As far as I know all our bacon is smoked to at least 140-150, but I could be wrong with commercially produced bacon. Smoking it to 145 is the only way I’ve really done it my whole life, even with the old timers when I was young You can cold smoke it. I don’t have the best setup for the low temps.
It looks like commercially produced bacon is raw (but cured obviously). I suppose you could try a smoke tube at the bottom of your vertical so produce lots of smoke minus the heat, so you're getting cold smoked bacon. Either way, your bacon looks sensational
@@Nick-vs4cf you wouldn’t know the difference between these slices and store bought if set side by side. It’s def not “ham like” it’s still looks and feels the same as from the store. I don’t have the patience for cold smoking slabs of bacon 🤣🤣 snack sticks, summer sausage, sure. Thanks for watching!
Living the good life
You’re right! Great times.
It's obvious that the quality is there but I'm curious about the economics of it. Given the amount of time and effort you put into it, have you noticed any savings making bacon this way vs buying wholesale? Appreciate the info sir.
I dont think there is any monetary savings here unless someone is making not much money or doing it for free. Judging by all the fridge, flipping, seasoning, smoking, cutting, etc It seems more like a labor of love versus saving any money.
@@doc.rankin577 I’ve never sat down and figured out my full costs, mainly my time. Can you get it cheaper per pound if you just compare the cost of supplies? No. My supply cost is half of the cost for any decent thick bacon. Short answer: I don’t know. Probably some. Minimal at best. Long answer… below. When we start talking about our time investment, that’s a personal decision on the time vs reward. I grind most of our burger meat. I make all of our chicken broth homemade. I don’t make my own butter or cheese. I like cooking and spend a lot of time in the kitchen and on the smokers. It’s enjoyable. I get to control ALL the ingredients. In the end making the bacon isn’t a ton of time. It’s a multi day process, but each step is short on physical time.
@@null1808 even if I raised the pig, it would still be close to the same price as store bought. Haha. Your statement articulates it way better than I have. “Labor of love” yep
That looks peaceful. We could all use a little bit of that
This was one of the best campsites we have been on. Definitely peaceful this time of year too.

Now that’s very interesting my friend, I never thought of it before. You should do a video on rehydrating as well. How long will it keep and do you have to keep it refrigerated?
@@BobbyDaniels-ck7jv I keep all mine in the freezer. When we go camping I throw them in a cooler or a backpack for hiking. I’m sure in a vacuum sealed bag with an absorber they would last a while. For us, we need them to last a couple days and that works for sure. I’ll make a video soon on rehydrating! Thanks for the suggestion. Make sure to subscribe so you can see the video!

I dont really notice a difference beetween boneless and bone in other than they cook faster.
They do cook faster. It’s not a noticeable difference to me either. The only difference, I feel like the shoots near the bone cook better, but that’s nothing someone should worry about unless they’re cooking competition
Keep up the good work
Appreciate it!
Oh man! I've never seen anything like this. They turned out great! 👍💜

Pretty good. Thanks for the recipe. Can i ask the time aand heeat of the oven for the fish?
Cook at 450 or 500. Depends on your stove. I probe at 12 minutes and then go from there. No specific time because all ovens are different.
Props for not overcooking your salmon. 125° is perfect cooked fish
I like mine more at 115 but the wife and kids don’t care for it that rare.
