Sheesh. Stay safe, snow or ice on the road with everybody using summer tyres means a lot of accidents. Here changing winter tyres is a game of chicken; we see how long we dare to drive on the summer tyres before winter arrives since winter tyres often have studs, and those can get damaged or fall off easy when driving on asphalt, and they wear the roads more as well so people often wait as long as they can before changing them for the winter. Basically if you wait too long and there is snow or ice on the ground, you lose the game of chicken 😅 It's pretty much impossible to control a car in snow with summer tyres.

Funny fact: The Big Bang Theory show is called Rillit Huurussa in Finland, which roughly translates to "Steamed Glasses" or "Steamed Spectacles". I have no idea why they keep translating show names here. They used to translate ruler names as well, so I used to be super confused why the brittish kings and queens had finnish names.

One of the flats I lived in was so tiny it did not have space for both fridge and an oven, so I went over half a year without making anything that needed to be cooked in an oven. So I get where you are coming from 😅

Merry Christmas! Here the 24th of December is the important day when Santa visits and people celebrate, and the 25th is the Christmas day when everybody just relaxes. This year me and my fiancee will spend the Christmas with just the two of us, which is a first. We had a big Christmas dinner and we did some traditional finnish Christmas stuff in the morning, like watching the Christmas Peace Proclamation from the TV. Here the goverment announces Christmas peace midday on Christmas eve, and it's a whole ceremony and all, and anybody committing crimes after that at least used to get more serious penalties than on normal days. I'm honestly not sure if that point still stands or not.

For me the first console I played was the original Nintendo, but video games were so niche and new at that time I did not play that much. After we got the PS1 I played the demo disks alone for hours on end, and the PS1 starting animation and especially the sound always makes me feel warm inside. I hear they added an option for newer PS consoles to change the start-up animation to older ones if you want, but sadly my PS4 broke down only recently and I'm not planning on buying any further consoles since I mostly play on the PC. FInal Fantasy 7 was one of my very first games on PS1 and it will always hold the number 1 place in my heart even though games like Baldur's Gate 3 are 100 times more astonishing. It all boils down to nostalgia. Weirdly enough I did not enjoy the Final Fantasy 7 remakes at all, it just did not make sense to me to hit a bandit with a 2 handed sword weighing literal tons and the enemy just ignoring the impact to attack back.

I don't really use Instagram or Twitter or all that stuff... I stick to the IndieWeb. I find that I can be a lot more intentional with how I use the internet this way, and absorb a lot less trash.

New channel name too! I'm on Facebook only, and that is mainly since most of my friends live abroad and I need one place to keep in touch with everyone, but I understand your point and agree with it. Personally I left most places that show any kind of news as I got an endless stream of distressing news around the clock, and it's one of the best decisions I ever made. Sometimes less is more.

I'm not a friend of puzzles or brain-teasers. If I can figure things out in games by myself I'm happy, but I don't mind checking the solution online if I don't crack it fast enough. I think things like that word search would be fine for me, I think I have a good eye to recognise patterns.

I've recently got a PS4. Last year got an xbox one. I think both are great consoles with great games, the thing is you have to wait for a game to install and sometimes it takes a lot of time. I miss the times when you just fired up your console and started to play. I know this process is just once but for me it gets the emotion off of buying a new game
