      I can promise you, that buck never felt the slightest bit of pain. He took the most humane shot straight through the heart. What you are seeing are simply involuntary nerve and muscle spasms. This can be compared to chickens once their heads are cut off. They may run around headless but I can assure you just because they are moving doesn’t mean they are alive, much less feeling pain.

    • @jsjoutdoors466
      @jsjoutdoors466 2 роки тому

      The first one was 12.4 miles downriver from the Ponca Put-In. It was on the left side of the river. A nice gravel bar and 20-30 yards or so off the river was where we set up our hammocks. The second camp site across from that tall Bluff and up that large gravel bar was 31.7 miles from Ponca and just 0.7 miles downriver from county road 3850. The river makes almost a 90° turn to the east and it’s also on your left off of the river a little bit as you can see from the video. Both were great camp sites!! Hope you have a great trip!

    • @jsjoutdoors466
      @jsjoutdoors466 2 роки тому

      It isn’t too bad with the steady current, but it’s all about how you want to spend your day. We average 2-3 mph when floating/paddling. By spending a whole day on the water we get about 9-10 hours of canoeing and 2-3 hours of pulling off on the bank and chilling. 20 miles isn’t too bad. Other people might enjoy pulling off on the bank more or setting up camp early and so 10-15 is more up their alley.

My parents picked us up on a gravel boat ramp at the mouth of the Duck River where it flows into the TN River. I would suggest taking out before the end of the Buffalo because the lower end of the Duck flows very slowly.
