You explained that very very well. Thank you
Thank you sir!!
Nice information! Thanks.
Great class, thank you very much. Love from Brasil
Is it possible to have a horst that is a hanging wall?
What disturbance occurs for a plume to rise from earth' core?
Question about contraction with Basalt Lava. I’ve noticed that not all Basalt flows form columns. Iceland versus Hawaii for instance have very different landforms. Are there specific conditions required for columnar jointing? And on the flip side what are the conditions that are unfavourable for columns forming?
Thank you for this informative video. From Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland ❤
Thanks Dr white I urgently need this document.
super clear and super helpful
You are a great teacher thank you for sharing.
Helloooagaineverybody🙃
Thank you so much sir I am from India 🇮🇳 tommarow is my geography practical examination for thankyou so much sir
why do you sound like christopher nolan
thank you, i have enjoyed these lectures thoroughly!
Thanks so much 🙏
The S waves shadow zone can even be formed with core being a vacuum or a gas, how did we conclusively say it's liquid?
Thanks!! Sir for your tutor. I would like to ask some questions 1. Where can I gate additional tutorial materials which support for identification of faults using Google earth and Global mapper (DEM)? Thanks...for your support
very nice explanation..thank you so much
The arrows in Africa are all moving in the same direction. How do we account for the East African Rift that is a divergent rift?
this was so easy to understand. thanks.
Please provide ppt sir
How many channels does this gentle genius have?!
I noticed Hawaii is not included in your list of places that have flood basalt. It is basalt lava though. Do you think this is the reason why there is not a lot of basalt columns in Hawaii. It seems that basalt columns are generally associated with flood basalt areas. Can you explain the difference between these two types of basalt rich environments?
Great video. I definitely learned something. Have a fun weekend.
that s great, thank you
Hello Dr. White, In reference to “slab pull,” if it allegedly accounts for most of and perhaps up to 90% of oceanic plate movement, then what moves the continents if up to 90% of the force isn’t from the MOR? The continents are all performing the over-ride role at subduction zones.
Hello Dr. White, Does mantle convection and divergence continue after it’s subsequently over-ridden by a continental plate as its spreading ridge is subducted? Can it continue for tens of millions of years, creating divergent havoc under the continental plate? I suspect that is what is happening under the East African and Baja Rifts.
Dr. White, can a strike-slip fault occur in the same direction but at differing velocities and rates, but perceived to have moved in opposing directions?
Ductility can be influenced with the state of matter and time; as an old window (an amorphous solid) shows its gravity slumping over a period of time. Silly putty can mimic an amorphous solid by pulling it suddenly and it snaps like a solid, but pull it slower, and it stretches.
Dr. White, during the rotation stage of metamorphism, can/does magnetite (if present) also record the magnetic field at that time?
❤

Who ever u are, thank you for making this video. I appreciate your efforts and way of explaing where u have taken into account what could confuse a student.
Are rocks used to verify the age of fossils?
Interesting to learn. Watching this now, as there is a newly formed dome on the Mayon Volcano.
Sir can i have the name of the textbook
Thank you
I like the exhaustive descriptions with tons of details leading to geological formations and processes. Dr White is particularly good at that. Add some music and you have the next David Attenborough of geology.
Very Nice explanation 👌
This was really good. Thanks!
is there any content missing from the previous video in this one? I noticed it cut off on alluvial
It would be better if we had a teacher like you who would explain in such a wonderful way with good illustrative pictures. I like your videos
THANK YOU SO HELPFUL :)))))))))
Thanks It is hard to find such lectures on youtube.
Curious as to why we get pyroxene back when hornblende metamorphoses under, I am thinking, higher temperature & pressure than when it existed in greenstone? I am missing something about that.
When we look at the many horizontal layers that we find everywhere on our planet, we clearly see the effect of a repeating cataclysm. These disasters are mentioned in ancient books like the Mahabharata of India and the Popol Vuh of the Mayans and others. They tell us about a cycle of seven disasters. Certainly, regularly recurring global disasters cannot be caused by asteroid impacts or volcanic eruptions. The only possible cause is another celestial body, a planet, orbiting our sun in an eccentric orbit. Then it is close to the sun for a short period and after the crossing at a very high speed it disappears into the universe for a long time. Planet 9 exists, but it seems invisible. These disasters cause a huge tidal wave of seawater that washes over land "above the highest mountains." At the end it covers the earth with a layer of wet mud, a mixture of sand, clay, lime, fossils of marine and terrestrial animals, gravel and meteorites. That mud layer hardens and becomes a new horizontal layer on top of many others. The disasters also create a cycle of civilizations. To learn much more about planet 9, the recurring flood cycle and its timeline, the re-creation of civilizations and ancient high technology, read the e-book: "Planet 9 = Nibiru". It can be read on any computer, tablet or smartphone. Search: invisible nibiru 9
I think you should remind your viewers that we don't have a shred of evidence that mantle plumes actually exist. They are simply the "go to" hypothesis every time a geologist sees vulcanism he can't explain.

My theory is as the earth was forming the ball of liquid spinning gas wrapped itself like cotton candy on a cone. Surface soil is decayed biological matter which fills low-lying areas mostly because this planet was under water a long long time. U can't dig more than couple feet on any projected mountain or hill without hitting upheaval crust.
