How you liking the Xtrainer? Any regrets? Thinking about getting rid of my klx300r for a 2stroke.
No regrets at all. Very nimble bike especially for single tracks
@ everything about that bike sounds great but I’m being told I might be too heavy for it 😂. I’m 5’10 230lbs
@@JAIME101329 I'm 220 and I changed the rear and front springs for my weight. I've also changed the front fork cartridge to Lucky Cartridge later on. Just change the springs to match your weight and that bike is awesome.
@ how much did you spend on suspension?
@ a couple hundred on springs. I think $750 on cartridge for fork.
Wow! Did you ride there or tow your bike?
@@MrUX-cb4wn Towed the dual sport bikes to Groveland and rode into Yosemite National Park from the forest side, 100+ miles round trip
Is it night and day with your Ohlins?
Oh for sure, biggest improvement are the Andreani fork cartridges.
I'm thinking of trading in my KTM 390 adventure for a used 850 special. How has it been reliability wise? My KTM has been pretty reliable. It's just too light and it's always windy where I live and I am spending way too much energy fighting the wind when I go on longer rides. Thanks.
Almost 6000 miles and no issues. Maintenance is easy, even the valve adjustment is easy. My favorite bike to ride.
Did you get a new Monster? Where are you storing it? LOL!
Squeezed it in the garage ;-)
Do you still have this bike? How do you like it?
Nah, I out grew it and sold it to my buddy.
Lmao my TWO STROKE Beta 300RR 24’ model makes this shit look SO BORING… im power wheelieing out of every single corner and in the straights..: lmao the BETA 300 2 stroke is a BEAST
It's been three years now, I assume you are a pro at this point?
Haha, No pro, but no longer struggling
What make of bar end mirrors are they, were they way to fit ?
CRG Arrow Bar end mirrors with Rizoma bar end mirror mount
Absolutely the wrong way to do that……wow is that unsafe. Amazed you didn’t crash into a pile of pain.
Seemed to work fine even when run over by the front wheel, could you explain why it is unsafe and how you would have done it?
Would these bikes be better for wheelies? Or the 140? Thanks
Better to learn on smaller bikes
nice i want one a these
NIce ride,and grate forest road....
Thanks
What’s with the blue warning light on speedo coming on and off?

@@2-WheelAddiction thank you. I owned a 2020 v7 special and didn’t notice this ( daytime riding only).
5:32 you didn't give up. Starting mid hill is always a pain. It seems counter productive to ride back down and try again when you are half way up, but the momentum needed to fly up that hill starts at the bottom, in 2nd or 3rd gear if you are adept at feathering the clutch. The highest gear possible is the beat bet for hill climbing. Momentum is your friend up hill.
Momentum is key. Start in the highest gear you can at the base of the hill to build speed. You never want to end up in first gear revving thinking you are moving but only the front wheel wants to come off the ground. Nice bike, cool video.
Like your bar end mirrors, what make are they, were they easy to fit ?
CRG Bar end mirrors. You also need to purchase bar end mounts.
Dang if found chp going down passing on double yellow 😂😂😂
No No No, there are passing lanes ahead so no need to rush, many times on this road beautiful and relaxing, very hot in the summer.
Open road, lovely sound, wide power band...not a test of handling, however. Next time please throw in just a couple of second gear twisties.
Where did you buy the ignition lock?
Came with it, this is the RRS version
P r o m o S M 👌
Wow, your bike sound much nicer than my V85TT with a full Agostini system.
Did you try it without the DB Killers?
Yeah, but still not like yours, seems like twin muffler have a better sound.@@2-WheelAddiction
Ahhh hahahaha the people at work think I'm busy listening to music doing my tasks. Little do they know I have my headphones on and am vicariously riding thru the countryside on my bike thru your video 😉
I used to ride past there all the time but never went in, The trails look fantastic
I have the same bike but the '22 model. I am getting ready to do the SM kit. What gearing did you go with? Anything you wish you would do differently?
Gearing was 15f / 40r and I was doing 80mph on hwy no problem. Just stiffen up the suspension for street
I have the same bike. Absolutely love it!!! Not the fastest or the quickest steering but soooo versatile! Great tank range, quick enough, stable, comfortable. Great little bike!
Totally agree
Want quicker steering? Raise fork tubes up through the triple clamps a few millimeters (only loosen/tighten one fork leg at a time, BTW, unless you want your bike suddenly dropping on its nose...). If steering feels better, maybe drop it another couple millimeters. I've seen race bikes with fork tubes sticking up over 2 full cm but I'd stop at 8 or 9 mm because twitchy steering could be a result - not safe.
Hello, greetings from Spain. Very cool video, new follower. What windshield do you have in v7? Thank you.
It's a Puig Mod Bat Windshield.
Where can i find the same wind deflecter? Thank you!
Amazon, Puig Mod Bat windscreen
What windscreen is that? I have a Dart (smoked) but yours looks better, how’s the wind protection?
Screen is Puig Mod Bat. Wind protection is great
I knew this looked familiar. I used to ride out Calaveras Road years ago.
I didn't hear a single downshift. WTH?
Nice ride, nice bike (I have a Stone on stock pipes). Exhausts give a nice, bassy but mellow sound - at least on my crap PC speakers!
Thx
A very whirring type of engine sound, but perhaps only through the camera, not in real life. Pipes sound nice in the background.
Yep, Guuzi’s engine characteristic
I think its the straight cut gears
I have the long pipes, no DB killers and they are amazing. I have an ECU tune BUT it is not needed. The bike run fine with and without it. Agostini supports this claim as well. You will notice how much better the bike runs compared to the stock mufflers. In comparison, my V85TT doesn't like the full open Arrow exhaust. It needs the back pressure generated by the DB killers. The V9 and V7 don't care as much. My V9 is an E4 bike and the V85TT is an E5. The E5 is a lot more sensitive thanks to the climate change communists. I have also noticed that all my Guzzi bikes and Aprilia V-twins like the longer pipes with larger exhaust chamber volume. Shorter pipes make them run a bit harsh. This is true for many other V-twin powered bikes. The reduction in engine heat is another huge benefit especially in hot climates. Open pipes don't cause the surge when stuck in traffic, true for both my E5 and E4 bikes. Just my 2 cents.
Hey, glad to hear you speak of the V85TT and exhaust, on my 2022 V85TT I used a Rapid Bike Evo tuner, K&N air filter and full Agostini. Have troubles getting it to run right and maybe inserting the DB killler will help. sometimes thing about removing the tuner.
@@davidspin5353 I installed the Rapid tuner on my V85TT and the bike run worse. In fact, when the engine was hot it was pretty much un-rideable. The left side O2 sensor was reading crazy values. Removed it and the dealer checked the harness and found that the voltage regulator wasn't plugged in fully. Whatever that means. Now the bike runs almost fine, depending on ambient temperatures, and I am very hesitant to screw around with the Rapid Bike add on. My V9 has an ECU tune from Todd and has been flawless. The V85TT doesn't run as smooth as the V9 E4. The V85TT is an E5 bike and if it wasn't for the tubeless wheels...I would probably recommend an E4 bike. The charging system is different and better on the E4 bikes. By the way, I have heard some complaints about the other tuning device, I can't remember the name, many say that it runs very rich and the tune is NOT bike specific. Stock sometimes is the best way to go.
I bought my Rapid bike tuner from Todd and a full system that he recomended, we had a falling out and he blocked me from participating in his forum, Oh well. I'll play with if nothing ill go back to stock.@@tedmarakas2626
I installed the Agostini long versions some time ago and just recently removed the DB killers and the bike runs even better, I have done no re.mapping at all, mine is a 2017 v7.
@@warrengarfield309 You don't need to. However, they run better after remap, they run a bit more rich and they behave a lot better in hot weather. Re-map eliminates the surging of idle and drivability in the city is better.
Ciao, questa V7 va molto bene, volevo sapere se è difficile da configurare, grazie
Hi, it’s very easy to setup.
Mah, io non saprei da dove cominciare , sulla mia v7 ho solo messo filtro aria aperto
The only thing I did for performance upgrade was open up the air box and installed a KN filter, changed the exhaust with Agostinis with db killer removed and flashed the ECU with a new map using the UpMap T800 programmer.
Ok, grazie, ma aggiornare ecu lo hai fatto te, o è già pre impostati? Sulla app ci sono parametri impostati o devi fare te? Grazie delle risposte ciaoo e comunque la tua va da Dio si sente
@@devidmartini5533 The T800 is very easy to use, you just upload the correct map depending on your mod. There were only 3 different maps available for the v7-850 when I upgraded mine. No need to do any parameter changes. There are several videos on UA-cam on how to use the T800 ECU programmer. Everything is done on the UpMap App on your phone.
Flat, boring, no hills, no engine working sod all gear changes .... 😒
Not as flowy and fun as other roads but views are nice.
Biking is great but why make more noise than neccesary? You like it but we don't.
So you drivers can hear me when I’m coming to split lanes. Works great.
It's actually illegal in 17 states to keep stock mufflers on a Guzzi. Spreading the good news of Mandello de Lario is the duty of every owner.
How's about you mind your business Karen. People like different things.
Because many car drivers won’t hear or see bikers. The only way we have to make them realize we’re there is noise, either a louder pipe or a horn. They will both be loud, but horns will jumpscare many folks. Let’s cut to the chase: no, I won’t spend more cash on fuel and use my car during the summer just because car drivers won’t use their mirrors or look around when they drive. So it’s either the pipe or you roll over me because you didn’t see or hear me. Or drivers miraculously start using their freakin’ mirrors, which will never happen. One of the options will lead you to a long police station visit and probably a shock trauma. The other will just make your eyes roll. I prefer the second option because I’m sure you’re a nice chap and I’m sure you don’t want to kill me. And so, since we want to be louder because you won’t see me even with my bright neon yellow helmet, it better sound good and guttural instead of sounding like a sewing machine. Which would end up getting on your nerves anyway since that’ll disturb you from the text message you’re writing while driving. Cool? Cool.
I'm in Australia and I can assure you that my Ago. equipped V7 is nowhere near as loud as most Harleys fitted with after market exhausts.
I'm planning on removing dbKillers on my mistral exhausts, did you have any trouble with carburation/compression? Does the bike run still good?
I think the bike ran lean but people said it was ok. I can definitely feel more grunt after I flashed the ECU with a T800 map.
@@2-WheelAddiction I think i'll need some mechanic advice and help from a couple of friends of mine cause I'm not one. Thanks for the heads up!
@@SoSemprePeccio If you buy the UpMap T800 ECU flasher, it's very easy to use. The app is step by step screen instructions. You can check out some UpMap T800 videos on UA-cam on how it works. It's very simple.
@@2-WheelAddiction I'll keep that in mind, thanks! Did you gain any hp whatsoever? and what about fuel consumption?
@@SoSemprePeccio I don't have official dyno numbers but throttle felt smoother and more responsive. Bike is just more gruntier too. Even if I didn't change the exhaust, I still would have flashed the ECU as the bike comes lean from factory to satisfy the emissions people.
That's what a proper Guzzi should sound like. Video also shows the torque advantage of a v-twin, you're not shifting anywhere as much as you would be on an inline 4 or parallel twin.
Bike is really fun to ride.
NICE RIDE! 💪🙂👍
Thanks...
Are those the short Agostini mufflers or the full-length reverse megaphone ones? Did you have to remap the ECU, or did the bike run fine as is?
Yes, they’re the shorts. When I had the db killers on, I didn’t remap the ECU and it ran ok. When I removed the db killers, I remapped it with the T800 ECU flasher and it ran much better too. I think the bike needs remapping regardless if you change the pipes or not.
@@2-WheelAddiction I put a deposit down on a 2024 V7 Stone Corsa, and want to put a "stage 1" kit on it (Ago reverse megaphone mufflers with dB killers removed, airbox lid eliminator kit), and seems that this setup would definitely benefit from a remap using that same flasher. I'm an analog guy in a digital world, how easy was it to upgrade the stock map? I see from the website that they have a specific map for aftermarket mufflers with the db killers removed and a modified intake, so that would be the one I'd download and install. Thanks!
@@bronzestarvue It was very easy using the T800 app, just follow the screen prompts. There are videos on youtube on how the app works. I think there are only 3 maps available for the v7, I used the one that says after market exhaust without db killer and I too have a KN Air filter with the cover removed.
Very nice sound and what a torque 😁😁😁😁
Thanks, she's a fun bike
The engine sounds great , nice ride.
Thx
That was fun! Do you have any noticeable fueling / lean symptoms after installing the pipes? May I suggest to consider lowering the levers a bit - you may find the new position more neutral and quicker to transition from a full bar to a full lever grab + more hand will be on the bars + leverage should improve very slightly. Your bike will respond well to additional counter-steering input to the point to where it's possible to hold any line of your choosing at that speed. Even leaned over in a turn the big front wheel & geometry can be made quicker by counter-steering. Takes a while to get used to & build muscle memory. I often lead-out a 1050 triple on a 22 V7 so I use every trick I can. 😁
I flahsed the ECU using UpMap T800 device with an updated map to match the new pipes. Yep, I have lowered the levers by almost an inch since this video. lol. More comfortable too. Thx.
Wow! The screen looks amazing!
Offers good protection too
Is your idle stock? Also what year is your bike?
Stock idle but I'm using a Juken 5 ECU. Bike year is 2021
@@2-WheelAddictionis the juken worth it?
@@glittlehossI think so, it makes the bike run richer. They come very lean from factory to meet epa regulations
Where did you source the screen ?
Amazon. It’s called a Puig Mod. Bat
I feel your pain, brother. My buddies took me up a worse hill than that, covered in softball to bowling ball sized rocks and way longer. Straight up the side of the rocky mountains. I broke both levers, bent the shifter, and rear break lever. Miserable day, but looking back, it's one of my greatest memories. Keep at it and listen to your friends. You'll get there
Trash and junk dumped right by highway... I live in California too, and I tell you this place is turning to shit.
