Today while getting the CX-9 serviced, I looked at a CX50… actually the only one for sale in the state of Mississippi. The numbers worked out if I did a trade in on the CX-9 so I decided to pull the trigger and buy it. I look forward to learning about it and creating a full in-depth video on it later on. As always feel free to ask me about CX50 ownership.

Infiniti FX45 muffler delete drive by sound
Переглядів 3 тис.3 роки тому
In this video, I show you what the Infiniti FX45 sounds like from a sidewalk point of view. There wasn’t much area to get on the gas, as well as it being in a residential area, so this is the best I can do for now. This video is for demonstration purposes for those looking to do a rear muffler delete to their 03-08 Infiniti FX45/M45. Thanks for watching.

i didnt get a turbo but plan on getting a cold air intake for 24 cx-50
i want the cold air intake for the non turbo version
Hilarious I have a CX9 but have a gen 1 Cayenne S for a dream car right now too
It’s funny because I had a CX-9 before I got the cx-50
@@samthecarguy1143 hoping a 1.5" lift and all terrains can help it tackle some light traisl
Should be able to. I know on my 50, I’m at stock height and haven’t had any issues with trails I’ve taken currently
damn the RX8 wheels actually look pretty good on there.did you have to run a spacer in the rear?
I didn’t. They will work without a spacer, though I do the the offset is off slightly. For a flush look, you’d want the spacer though
I like too buy one too
Does it come with remote start or is it an option
They use the Mazda App. But as for physical buttons on a key fob, they don’t have it
Great review. Do you still own this car?
As of today yes, but I recently got a cayenne turbo so am prepping it to sell
Are those RX-8 wheels on the CX-50? Love it!
They are! They really fit it well
Hello brother...

@@samthecarguy1143 NEW SUB NEW SIBLING
Appreciate it man. I’m installing the inlet pipe, intake, and heat shield and holy shit am I struggling. What I’m on right now is getting the MAF sensor holder onto the tube and it’s such a tight fit holy shit. Yours looks like it just easily slides on haha. Wonder if it’s because they’re using a different tube for the inlet pipe vs what comes with just the intake kit.
Resisting the urge to turn on the pressure washer seeing your engine bay like that...jk good job on the install video.
I definitely enjoy some off road adventures with this thing! Thanks! I tried to make it S informative as possible so it could be followed as a step by step tutorial
Watching this before I toss mine on. Thanks a ton for posting this and sharing the process. Can’t wait to hear this twin scroll go spsshshhhh
My pleasure!
If the fuel economy wasnt so bad I would definitely keep this baddie as my daily driver
On road trips if I’m not pushing it fast, it tends to sit around 19-20mpg. But in the city driving itself 16.7 no matter how I drive it😂😂
Hey Man Just saw the video love it Im looking to get one what should I look out for and how's it holding up Im looking at an 06 model fx45 with 167k kms
I’m currently at 136k miles. It’s had some issues here and there over the years but for the most part it’s been decently solid. Have had issues with wheel bearings, alternator, and the cam and crank sensors. This particular one had rust issues when I bought it from ohio, but they haven’t gotten much worse over the 4 years. It’s a perfect weekend car which is what I use it for now. I may put 5,000 miles a year on it where as when I bought it, I was putting close to 20k a year on it.
24:57 Goofy is that you?
I find it impressive that someone with Down syndrome manages to incorporate something like that, When I look at your engine compartment and how dirty it is and you probably do that often, driving around in the mud, I don't know how healthy that is for this open intake and how quickly it gets dirty
FX35😍
I got this car in 2020 as well! But it’s from Texas.
How's the battery when you not running the engine did you update or you thinking about it or you wanna put it extra one in the trunk? I am owner owner off FX 35 2010 ! and my battery dying on me every three years if I push five I am sorry later even I use the best in the market ! Because such a small place for the battery is not too many choices for us to update the biggest one to have problem resolve! my question is were you idea about the battery problems
I still have the battery I got it with in 2020. The battery is either a 2019 or 2020. The only time it has died on me was when I let it sit for a month and a half without a battery tender, but a jump start got it fired right up and haven’t had an issue since. Most batteries now a days only last 3-5 years now. You might have a ghost draw on the charge.
Very nice 🙂 I have an 03 FX45 with only 77k. Those trucks are built like a tank.
Midnight club 3 Dub Edition Remix is also my reason the 03-07 FX models are my dream vehicles.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t listen to the songs from the game while driving it on fun curvy roads 😂😂 even in that game it was an op, only the Cayenne based Gemballa was better n my opinion. That game also gave me a special love for Cayenne turbos 😂 but they maintain a high value
Did you see any change on your gas economy?
Under standard driving, negligible. Under fun driving, it’s less because I’m more inclined to floor it and hear the turbo 😂😂😂
I have an fx35 but the startup sound and rev is different
How does yours sound? Every 35 I’ve seen has sounded like the white one, which sounds like a Nissan 350Z
@@samthecarguy1143 It sounds like type of muscle car
Dont forget the Q45
why have they not made a heat shield for the CX5 I wonder.
I like the FX45 because it’s starts like a Nissan Titan V8 and the FX35 starts like a Nissan Maxima V6!!
I LOVE the RX8 wheels. I had them on my 2014 Mazda 3 sGT for the summers. I just bought a 24 CX50 TPP in December. Traded in my 21 CX30 TPP. I just purchased the Falken WildPeaks in 245/50/20 and am having installed next Saturday.
You’ll want to get your speedometer recalibrated with the larger tires, I never did and my speedometer is off slightly since the overall diameter is slightly smaller than the original 20s since you’re bumping up, you’re speed will read slower than you are actually going. I live my wildpeaks!
Sorry, couldn’t concentrate due to dirt and mud
I cleaned it, then got it dirty again since this video 😂😂
Any updates on this filter? I see that the video is from a year ago.
Still doing awesome! Had it cleaned during one of my last oil changes, but the car is still running beautifully, and the sound is still awesome and makes me smile
Thank you. Youre speaking my language.. ive had my 08 infiniti fx35 over 10 years. I love it. Easy to work on.. Currently 219921 miles on her. I done a muffler delete, painted several times along with rims. Im lookinf for a fx45 now. And like you said.. i dont ever ever ever plan on getting rid of her 😂Yours sound great. Thanks
What would u say is more reliable between the fx35 & 45 series ?
Both are pretty reliable. They both have their own issues, but the 35 uses the VQ35DE out of the 350Z and I’ve seen those engines go 700k+ miles. The vk45 (FX45) wasn’t as popular so finding them with really high mileage isn’t super common.
You dumb fuck you didn't even record the muffler delete properly 🤦♂️
Nice review. I just bought my wife a one owner, garage kept in Fl., flawless 2007 FX35 with 150k miles for $5400. I drove it home about an hr. away and I've decided I'm going to look for a FX45 to have as a spare. Very nice car! Oh, the rear seats can be pushed forward with two levers from the back hatch on the right and left side.
They really are. I’ve had both the 35 and the 45. I definitely prefer the 45. Did I forget to mention the levers in the back to drop the seats? That’s my mistake.
Is that the cover rattling? That dash acne issue is disappointing.
I believe the rattle is the rosary hanging from the mirror.
I'm not a mechanic- so WHAT Is that and what exactly does it DO ? How much of an "improvement" is it for real?? I love to hear about anything that can make a car BETTER than it was...
I’ll do my best to give a decent detailed description: What it is: it’s an aftermarket air intake for the engine. What does it do: in general, an air intake is piping that allows air to go into the engine. Gasoline powered Internal combustion engines need 3 things to operate: 1: air 2: fuel 3: spark. The air and fuel compress inside of the engine in cylinders with the use of a piston. This aftermarket air intake has more opening and allows more air to go into the combustion chamber but to see any signify differences would require updating the car’s engine computer to account for added air. My CX-50 is turbocharged, which means that it has this little rounded case with a small fan built into it that spins by passing the exhausted gasses over a turbine connected to it. What this does is as the exhaust gasses pass through the device and spin the fan, the fan pulls in more air and forces it into the engine. This is significant because more air+more fuel=more power. Turbos because they suck in air make a whooshing sound as you hit the gas, the more you push the gas pedal, the more air is allowed into the engine which pushes more over the turbine causing it to suck in even more air making more and louder turbo noise. On this particular turbo set up, when let off the gas pedal, the excess air that was brought into the turbo that is no longer needed is released through a pressure release valve. When it dumps the air out it makes a fun SPSHHHHHHHH sound. So with this, it makes driving it more fun with the added turbo noises and also can give you somewhere between a 3-10hp boost depending on what you do. It also allows for an increase in torque if I remember correctly as well. Hope I was able to answer your questions. Feel free to ask me anything else you’d like to know about it or the car in general, love getting to share the knowledge and information when I can! 🤙🏼
@@samthecarguy1143 EXCELLENT - thanks..
@@davidwayne9982 my pleasure!
😆 he’s wrong about the mustang GT. The 05 to 09 models had 305 hp and 320 pounds of torque. Not 250 hp lol
Easy mistake when you forget to look it up before and go off the previous Mustang’s performance. These came out in 03 during the sn-95 model year. Also thought the 05 was under 300hp.
Do you know if this upgrade voids any warrenties?
You’ll have to verify that, but it is something that alters the initial design of the intake system, so there’s a chance it could affect the engine/drivetrain warranty. Personally, I decided I trust Mazda reliability as well as CorkSport enough to risk it. I’m at almost 40k miles with 0 issues from the car as of this comment.
Thank you!@@samthecarguy1143

Is there a way to turn off the orange DRL?
To my knowledge there isn’t an orange drl. The orange light at the turn signals only turn on with the headlights. You can turn off the drls in settings though
I wonder what made Mazda add the pedal misuse feature 😂
Probably for older buyers
And in the Q 45. I also own a fx45 but do you know of any performance modifications that are available or any custom mods people are doing ?
There’s not much that I know of. I’ve wondered if VQ35 parts would fit with little to no modifications since this engine is based on it
You know a lot of stuff about this model. Thanks for the video
I try. I’ve had both the v6 and v8 and tried to learn as much as I could since they’re pretty uncommon with the v8
Greatest video ever. Picked up my premium and infotainment system had me lost. Not any more. THANK YOU.
You’re very welcome, I spent time with it and learned as much as I could because the dealership didn’t know much about it when I got mine. Since this video I’ve found even more handy features in it as well. If you to to the too screen, I believe (maintenance settings or vehicle info) then go down to maintenance details, it will show you your tire pressures. I learned that late last year after having the car about 8 months.
Wow never knew there was a 45
They’re fairly rare and they didn’t make a lot of them over the 03-08 run, so it’s always fun when I get to share mine with others. In 09 they were replaced by the FX50 which had a 5.0L V8. They sold those from 09-13, then changed the name to QX70S in 14. After 2014 they didn’t make the V8s and sold them only with the 3.7L until the end of production in 2017. For those who love the FX, seeing the 45 is quite the treat.
thanks for the hands-on video. A lot of help for us DIYers.
Absolutely, glad it was helpful!
