How to change a throttle cable
Переглядів 19 тис.3 роки тому
In this video I am showing you how to change a throttle cable on an e36 M3. This procedure should be very similar on any cable driven throttle body vehicle. Please keep in mind this e36 has an ASC delete so it may look slightly different from your set up. This throttle cable was purchased from ECS tuning.

    To remove the old cable, wouldn’t it have been easier to just cut it so it could be pulled out through the driver side instead of through the firewall?

    These vehicles suck to lower. There's just no other way around it. I have a 2011 and every single step of the way has been atrocious. I ended up spending a fair amount of money to in the end have the shittiest ride experience I've ever had of any vehicle the fronts and the backs have widely different lowering potentials the back you can hardly lower at all the front you can lower a lot farther than the wheel wells would even take it's stupid and no matter what my dampening settings are it just is unpleasant to drive if you have an ASX or an outlander sport both the same thing and you're thinking about doing this please just don't you'll be way happier in the end sell your little confused crossover take that money and get yourself a quality car go find a little bit of an older STI for instance or if you're super huge on Mitsubishi go find an older Evo you'll be so much happier that you did

    Are these known to fault!? I think this happened to mine. I bought mine pre-owned and my 02 sensor (upstream) just went out (not fully, but it's reading over voltage). I pulled it out and it's not stock OEM. It's after market. I just ordered an aftermarket Upstream 02 sensor and plan on slapping it into my outlander today once it arrives. I didn't know people were stealing our freaking catalytic converters. Smdh people suck

      Unfortunately a lot of aftermarket sensors will go bad way more often than OEM. However most of the time an o2 sensor code is not from a faulty sensor, but a problem causing it to alert the pcm

    Could you please tell me where to even start looking to find things to customize my 2015 Mitsubishi outlander sport. I have looked and looked can’t find much. This is the first car I’ve ever wanted to actually do something with and I am new to the scene

      Sorry for the late supply but almost anything for a Lancer, will fit an outlander. Including coilovers. They are the same chassis. Ebay also has many simple aesthetic mods!

    Is it possible to do this without removing that wheel because I find myself on the unfortunate situation of having a floating stud with a lug starched so that wheel isn’t coming off and I need the belt replaced 💀

    What is that piece called that's on the end of the adjusters, my cable has nothing wrong with it other than the rubber piece that's missing.

    • @brandonevox6883
      @brandonevox6883 2 роки тому

      Those are just the bushings on the cable. You could buy a new cable or possibly use something from a hardware store as a decent replacement. Get creative

    howw was the drive with these compared to the stock strut setup

    • @brandonevox6883
      @brandonevox6883 2 роки тому

      Honesty quite poor. But the stock struts aren’t amazing either. Even with a quality product like BCs it’s very rough riding and stiff. I would recommend a lowering spring instead
