Episode 26: The OVERREACTION Episode
It’s interesting to hear how the league deals with the shifting talent pool. Jeff’s analysis on free agents was spot on.
It’s always insightful to hear players talk about the business side of hockey. Jeff’s thoughts on the financial pressures were eye-opening.
The NHL’s small-market teams are constantly fighting for attention, but they still have so much to offer. Jeff highlighted this struggle so well.
I loved how Jeff spoke about the growth of the NHL
Jeff’s take on coaching changes and what makes a good fit for a team was really well said. You can tell he’s been through it all and knows what works.
I enjoyed hearing about Jeff’s thoughts on the importance of family in his life. It’s refreshing to hear an athlete speak so openly about it.
The insight into Winnipeg’s approach to building a team was great.
It’s cool how Jeff’s insights reflect the balance between success and struggles.
Jeff’s experiences with teams like the Oilers gave a fresh perspective on how much the game has changed over the years. It’s amazing to hear firsthand accounts.
It’s nice to hear the love for Winnipeg’s hockey culture. The fans are so dedicated, and it’s great to see that loyalty rewarded.
No rod means more fun and more serious hockey talk with Sarina
The way they discuss each team’s strategy really shows their expertise.
Loved the prediction about Tampa reloading instead of rebuilding. Makes total sense.
This is the only podcast where I can get my Florida hockey fix, and I’m grateful for that.
The casual yet knowledgeable approach they have makes it so easy to listen to.
I look forward to seeing if the Panthers can truly repeat. They’re on a roll.
The deep dive into the Lightning’s possible rebuild was fascinating.
I didn’t realize how much golf the hockey guys play in Florida! That was a fun fact.
The coverage of both the Panthers and Lightning is balanced and fair.
Serena has such a realistic view on the NHL teams’ performances. Love her take!
I wasn’t sure what to think about the Lightning this season, but this episode gave me clarity.
The NHL with a Florida twist - this podcast nails that concept perfectly.
Florida truly is a golf capital, and hearing it in a hockey podcast is just funny.
Keeps things interesting.
The debate about the Panthers repeating is heating up. I’m here for it!
Great pod today! Go cats go! Also the smack down on the preds was brutal.
I wasn’t expecting the rebuild conversation about Tampa
You can feel the passion they have for Florida hockey. Such a dedicated duo.
Rod and Serena really know their stuff. Always a pleasure to tune in.
It's so refreshing to hear a podcast that gives both Florida teams the attention they deserve.
Love the insight into Florida hockey. Panthers and Lightning fans are eating this up.
The chemistry between the hosts is incredible, and the content is top-notch
Let's Go Bombers! Great show..........Nice Poppy!
Great show as always guys! #GoCats🏒
Great show ! Sarini is right about Atlanta - they have already had two tries at the NHL and failed. The Penguins are in "R" mode - retirement. You are right that nothing will be done until the big three hang up their skates. Sullivan should have been gone a long time ago. Maurice has the Panthers focused and playing good hockey. Playoff predictions now are insane. The season is a marathon, so you have to pace your selves and try to play consistently. The Bolts I think no one wants to say it but they are in what I call a preliminary rebuild.
Love the barkov jersey in the back (; glad to see it hung up. Loving the pod lately! -Lucas
Analytics, blah blah blah.....I find the only fans who use them are fans who can't relate to the game from ice level perspective. Fans want to talk hockey so badly, the second someone who plays(ed) competitive hky says something remotely close to disagreeing with them, they go searching for some randum, useless stat that can be skewed, warped and stretched into ten other stats that show how great a player, line, or team is. IE......the Canadiens got their asses handed to them by Seattle the other night......on Pucking home ice, and after the game a "expected goals for" stats showed that Anderson and Gallagher had an 85% Expected goals.....Me being the anal-ankle biter, hard charging Beer League, 53 year old, short fat kid from PEI but living in Butt Puck, Brandon, MB, runs to money puck to find out what Expected Goals is......."The percent of all expected goals the player's team gets while the player is on the ice compared to the other team. For example, if a player's team gets 0.6 expected goals and the opposing team gets 0.4 shot attempts while the player is on the ice, the player's expected goal % is 60%. It does not matter if it's the player or a teammate taking the shots, as long as the player is on the ice." IE. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE PLAYER IS ON THE ICE....meaning, who the puck knows what happened to Anderson and Gallagher to get that number, but I watched the game, and each player took 2 shots each, and Daccord had to make a normal save....meaning, he stood there in a stance and made fundamental positional save that took less than 10% effort to save.......I could go on an on about these stats, but I won't because I could write a book about how pucking useless these are. I play the environment and the economy....oh look another useless random post by Shane Oliver.......well that was fun. See Yaz next week.....I'm running to take a picture of my Dad's (RIP July 2021) goalie masks that he wore in three different era's. I was home (PEI) for a wedding last week, and asked mum if I could bring them back with me, they were hiding in the basement where they've been for over thirty years. Ack Out! 2VP 1990-2011: Wear a Pucking Poppy!
Great show guys ! Thanks for the shout out Roda !
Best intros in podcasting 😂
Bring coach Pete back
Yeah but weather has a lot to do with it. My friends because honestly in Canada and the places you're referring to that live hockey year around the weather cooperates. Here it never snows. Very simple. I think it's been an amazing ride and I'm continuing to enjoy it. And as fandom grows more and more years invested than more media will cover. I remember when the Heat were on rabbit ears
Zito is the man! #GoCats🏒
Thanks for sharing the laughs..
Keep up the great work❤️
You guys are killing it this season! The dynamic between you two is fantastic.
I think the casual conversations are my favorite part of the podcast. It feels like we're just hanging out with friends.
Serena, I completely agree with you about wanting to catch the World Juniors in Europe. That would be such a fun experience!
That U-Haul story was epic!
I love how you guys bring humor into the analysis of the game. It makes it so much more enjoyable to listen to!
God I love this show lol.
