eWaste Gold Rush
"It’s an absolute gold rush. And if you haven’t gotten into it, now is the time to do it because it will be too late if you wait a few years from now."
With Dylan Pruitt (VP of Adonis) having spent the last decade working in the scrap metal and eWaste recycling business, I thought it was only fitting to ask him where he thinks the future of eWaste is going and what are some trends that haven’t developed yet.
As he shared, outside investments are being poured in the industry right now because they see the value in it. And with only 15% - 18% of our eWaste being recycled, now is the perfect time to get started because there’s enough volume for everyone to succeed. “Lots of people on the Facebook groups we’re in are getting into it - because they see people on social media doing it. Even media outlets are starting to talk more about it.”
Another trend Dylan sees is the industry turning more towards the resale side. Dylan noticed companies in the St Louis region now have fully established ITAD teams, when previously they were only focused on the scrap side. “It comes down to why make 5 bucks scrap when you can make 100 bucks resale?”
Dylan also predicts a lot of commercial activity heading towards the government's goal to ship less overseas. Currently, a new stateside refinery is being built in Georgia, while a battery recycling factory is being developed in Fredericktown, Missouri.

eWaste Breakdown Party: Vintage boards, ceramic chips, heavy gold items
Переглядів 8716 годин тому
Hey Yardminers! One of my favourite things about yardmining is the decompression and thinking I can get done while breaking down interesting circuit boards that come in. Usually I’ll save them for a couple months and think about what I want to do with them. What we’re really going after are 1) vintage boards 2) ceramic chips and 3) heavy gold items. Most of these were made in the 70s, 80s, and ...

It was broken.
😂❤📺 is the most important
what happened?
Came in looking beautiful but was busted.
That was a Midland 13-862. I had those in the past and I want another one. The crystals alone are worth something because new radios don't have them. That was brutal. Did you do that to be funny?
Just to upset you and only you 😆
Oh God man, you just hurt a lot of techie guys and hobbyists by trashing that CB unit. It could have gone to someone who wanted to play with it and experiment and maybe put it back into service.
They call me the breaker of techie hearts, the slayer of obsolete tech, the CB that never was🐉🗡️
@@yardmine All the techie nerds outnumber you, So dont show up at the Hamfests and Swapmeats, cause we will be waiting for you. We`re gonna retire you to the recycle bin too.
All that gear! 👀
non of this is worth it you get more by selling it non of this stuff is made ANYMORE
Hey I know him! Yay!! Keep on rocking Matt! Sending love from Atlanta, GA!! ~CoCo~
I like how he explains that they get seperated to NOT scratch them up and then proceeds to absolutely yeet one over the shop...thats just pure situational comedy

Start looking into LIBS instead of XRF. You should see a lot better results as XRF doesn't measure Carbon content.
Will definitely check it out!

Em qual tipo de equipamento vem esta placa ?
The big yellow "Frako" capacitors are not tantalum sadly, they are just crusty old electrolytic capacitors. Pretty much worthless except maybe for the aluminium case. The flat yellow ones are aluminium and plastic foil capacitors, worthless too. The gold top ICs are nice however, worth keeping as collectibles.
and those metal cans are transistors
