Quick intro to me and what I'll be up to for the next 12 months starting on the 1st March
Nice
Randomly came across this - good talk and can relate to this, especially to the constantly questioning yourself while people tell you that you seem totally opposite than how you feel (funny/comedian, confident, cocky, calm/chill). I know stigma/awareness might be important - but I think as important or even more important are questions like "how does one get better?", "how does acceptance happen and how it helps?" and just giving people a sense of community so that they can see the wide spectrum of people who suffer from totally relateable issues. Good luck in developing your channel! Stay up man!
Thanks Oleg. I think your absolutely right that the questions need to be around how we make ourselves better. I think the acceptance of yourself is something that will aid this. Personally, for me, stopping alcohol has helped massively with my depression, and also making myself attend social functions without the use of it. I don't think i will ever 'get better' from my anxiety, but its the way I deal with it and also the management of it and accepting that its just a part of my personality. Take care dude
Thank you Phil for making the video and your reply. Is this the first time you are making a vlog? Is it going to be all entries about you doing videos speaking wisdom/experience on mental health issues in your kitchen? I'm asking because I've been thinking of doign a vlog for a looooooooong time now, and think finally I'm getting over the fears and excuses of doing so. I wanted to have a variety of videos - some on my travelling and experiences, maybe some on teaching something or skills/challenges and fitness/health, but also with a lof of just rants at the camera/wisdom/experience sharing.
Yes Oleg i've made about 8/9 videos all on this channel but hadnt made any previously. This was more to follow the 12 month journey of me not drinking and how this affected my mental health, which is almost over so will only make 1 or 2 more If your thinking of doing it, the best thing i found is to just do it and worry about it after! Its a bit weird talking to the camera but gets easier after doing a few. Definitely go for it! If you have any other questions let me know, all the best and good luck!
A okay - that's great man - I gotta check out a couple more of your videos, at least, and see how the non-drinking thing has affected your life - I know a lot of people do this challenge to see how it makes them feel. Yeah man - that definitely sounds like a good approach to the vlog thing - this guy really hits on some of those points really well about thinking of doing something but not doing it - ua-cam.com/video/f26bguKM8rA/v-deo.html you should check it out, maybe you can relate. I will contact you with any questions man - I appreciate the offer. You should keep making videos! Maybe even try going different directions - I think it's very good for the person making the videos to create something and to feel like they inspired or helped others, and it's good for the people watching them. Btw - what kind of UK accent do you have? (I've been trying to learn to differentiate between them lately) Like what Game of Thrones character has a matching accent as you (this must sound ridiculous/ignorant)?
Love you brother x
I needed to see this today. Thank you.
It takes courage to talk about it, for a unknown audience. Struggling also. :) Well done.
João Filipe Mateus many thanks! Hope your well 👍🏼
Out the back end
Good video, wish there were more guys working hard like you to erase the stigma of men's mental health, just can't happen soon enough
Caring Mind thanks for the kind comment! I wish these videos would reach more people so that it would help break down the stigma! If everyone keeps chipping though it will eventually
Thanks for raising awareness of mental health. Men need to talk about mental health more and avoid the stigma
Caring Mind thanks for the positive feedback! They definitely do! It's not anyone's fault they get ill!
Thanks, I ll link to this video off my mental health newspaper.
I can relate so much to the self doubt and self confidence issues that anxiety brings about. Thanks for adding your voice to the conversation. I think the more people talk about anxiety the less stigmatized it will be! There's always that layer of feeling like "I'm not normal" that makes anxiety all that much worse. When in fact, it may be a little outside of "normal" but there are plenty of us who deal with it every day. Be well.
LA Fresh Life- Hi thanks for the comments- that's exactly what I'm hoping to do, the more people that open up about having the issues the more we can help stop the stigma!
Easy going and always up for a laugh. Just a decent bloke really
Thanks Ross Kind of you to say dude 🙌🏽
confident, strong minded (and used to think you were a bit cocky). Now I think you're brave. x
Thanks Jess x

Thanks Jess we can chat any time x
Well done, great delivery this time. I like the use of the mic (holding it) cool and unique.
Thanks Gary- thanks for the feedback Feels weird talking to a camera but felt more comfortable today so I'm pleased you thought it came across the mic holding thing wasn't actually intentional- it just felt weird on my tee and more natural just to hold it!
This is class 👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks Buddy!
Choose a better backdrop mate... Maybe hang a photo of me on the wall
Thanks for the feedback that's really helpful... could you send me something suitable
