Pretty sure it's in that RC room, it's just on the opposite end. The part of the RC room that was on the left in your view looked like the longer photo on the original site, just taken from the back of the room. Pretty sure the original Backrooms photo was near the back of the RC room.

I agree on not being too sure about it being the original location, I'm gonna go ahead and say it is though. Just because it's the biggest lead that search has ever found. It also matches up pretty well compared to other photos. I'm just glad we at least have some kind of answer.

Let me fill you in on some of the details. This store used to be a Rohner’s furniture store decades ago. The store originally only occupied what’s now Fabulous Finds next to Hobbytown, but sometime in the 1970s, they expanded into the building that is now Hobbytown. In 1994, Rohner’s shut down, and eventually, the building was bought by Hobbytown. The infamous picture along with another one were taken in the morning of June 12, 2002, on the second floor of the Hobbytown. The area was to undergo renovation due to extensive water damage. The room would later be remodeled from top to bottom into the large RC car race track that is there today. Everything seen in the backrooms photo was taken out. The two photos had been added to the website of the Hobbytown by March 2003. The iconic photo would later be posted and reposted on 4chan due to its creepy nature. We all know about the 2019 and 2018 posts. However, a post from March 8, 2011 was recently found, with the original filename for the picture attached. Somebody decided to search this file name on X and found a post from…wait for it…all the way back in 2019, where someone had found the source (the Hobbytown website). Plugging the link into the Wayback Machine reveals the website, in all of its 2003 glory, with the two images from 2002 conveniently being the only ones available. As for where the pictures were taken, according to the most recent version of a fan-made, potentially not-accurate, recreation of the floor plan before the renovation, the famous one was taken in the back left corner of the room, such that the doorway into the room with the woods-themed RC car track is the mysterious green step in the picture. The other image was taken in the front of the room, where the wall on the left of the image is where the windows are now, and the wall opposite the camera borders Fabulous Finds.

I don’t think that the doorway is the original picture location. The stairs, the ceiling is too high, and the lights are in the wrong orientation. I think it’s in that room.

fun fact: The same company that made Ninjabread Man also released 3 more games like Ninjabreadman, which uses the same level layout, melee, and range attacks. the only difference is that the levels have a style matching the look of the character and that one has a new ability which that you can throw bombs but you collect bombs in levels. i found this information from Rerez and his series "Just Bad Games"
