The problem is people do bad things in life believing they are doing good, like when people go to war for a religion etc. He believes mental illness is a brain disorder but needs to question his belief which is misguided and false. In science there's suppose to be a hypothesis, then research and then a conclusion. With psychiatry they've jumped the gun, they've already started to treat people with neuro-pharmacology on a hypothesis however if they did it properly nobody would be on any psychiatric drug because the research to justify this approach just isn't there. Mental illness is not a brain disease and until there is PROOF (not evidence as big pharma is a business) , I don't think mental illness should be treated with neuro-pharmacology and spoken about as if it were a real disease. At the moment the whole premise behind psychiatry is that if you're mentally ill its due to a biological problem like a brain disease which is a lie. This means society can carry on screwing people over and making them ill because if its a brain problem then nothing needs to change and those who do thrive in this environment will continue to do so.
