My sister is a bee keeper in Australia and she’s told me that in the bee keeping clubs here - they are against the flow hives. They have not much good to say about flow hive at all. The guy who owns it seems to target the new bee keepers, the ones who don’t know any better. I’m glad you, as an experienced bee keeper, called them out on some issues.

The flo hive is NOT made by a bee keeping company, its made by a Chinese company thats sole purpose is to make money. Its the worst hive to own quite literally

I have a strong childhood memory of going to my local store and getting some honey comb to eat. They would sell small amounts for snacks and we loved them.

I use foundation frames because my bees are silly and will crosscomb, and drawn comb is worth it's weight in gold, but man it's a treat to eat some honeycomb

1) They sell an inferior product to their competitors 2) they encourage the competitors to wait until they can no longer make a claim for refund or gain benefit from fraud protection 3) they profit. by getting you to destroy your own hive, the balance of supply and demand shifts, making their own hives more money...plus they defrauded you out of $1200.

I used to help my Mom nail frames together when I was a kid, and we would use natural beeswax foundation sheets. NEVER had an issue with the bees flat out rejecting any of the frames. I couldn't even fathom paying $1200 for a damn hive!🤯

I don't know how much I think of these types of behives. How do you make sure that you don't overharvest the honey and they have enough honey to make it through the offseason when there aren't any blossoms for them to collect pollen off of?

Thank you! I got this feeling from the start about the flow hive it just seemed to have no room for error which is a no go in beekeeping. It always felt like a hive made for people and not bees.

If they claim they are getting world class knowledge on the hobby and charge you for it, and you do not get it, it is the textbook definition of a scam, and respectfully, there are millions of examples of someone getting caught doing something and throwing together an apology, only to immediately do the same thing, apologies and promises to do better are not worth the oxygen used to make them

Flow hives were garbage from day one. Please stop using these.

I prefer the rose hive. The queen is free to move through the entire hive. The idea is to create a healthy hive and split it when another queen is available. Then you have two healthy hives. The goal is not honey production.
