A friend arranged my vocals with the vocals of a young kid who she apparently knows to create this version of such a pretty song. I had never heard this song before and don’t know who sang it originally.

Wow!
This Damon's song, not yours.
@@anitahaviland3036 Ya, no kidding. I was asked to put my vocals on this young man’s by an acquaintance. I sent her the video and she sent this video back to me. I had no idea what her plan was or is. At first I thought the request a bit odd but she’s a nice person so I did it.
No kidding. It’s actually “Damian’s”. That’s why it says “featuring Damian McGinty”. I was asked to put my vocals on this young man’s vocals by an acquaintance. I sent her the vocal recording and she sent this video back to me. I had no idea what her plan was or is. At first I thought the request a bit odd but she’s a nice person so I did it. Relax.
@OldHeadFighta If you avecwatched, there is one version of young Damian singing this while moving his eyes all over. It might have been his first time singing it on stage. The backup by George Donaldson was superb. It seemed to establish him as a father while on tour for Damian. I watched a number of Celtic Thunder interviews done after George's passing, and in each and every one, Damian dropped his head and tightly hugged himself, closing himself off, whenever George's name came up. Obviously, your friend was not sensitive to this, and you were not aware either. To me, this is a song between the two of them. Your contribution, sadly, was sad.
@ I went and watched what I could find of Mr McGinty’s work after receiving the video from this acquaintance. In addition to other songs/videos he recorded, I found two versions of “Like A Bird Without Wings”, one was with Mr McGinty as a young adult. I enjoyed both. They apparently found a gentleman to step in for the man who does the backup. On another quick video made by Mr McGinty where he was simply talking, I commented and explained about the video my acquaintance made. I wanted him to know what it was. I’m not a professional, I have very few subscribers, greater than 90% are people I’ve worked with or helped as a Patient Advocate. I post my songs here just to keep as a place to store them. I hardly think anyone comes to my page for my song videos. Here’s the young version of Like A Bird Without Wings ua-cam.com/video/gxdUYhKVxpQ/v-deo.htmlsi=Truuk4pZ_-FclUih Here’s Mr McGinty as a young man. ua-cam.com/video/OF8zqci29LI/v-deo.html

Wonderful job Bill! Even managed to shut me up and stop me from singing the same song. Well done!!!
@@BJRooney-zb6my Thanks! I appreciate it. I was asked to put my vocals on this young man’s by an acquaintance. I sent her the video and she sent this video back to me. I had no idea what her plan was or is. At first I thought the request a bit odd but she’s good people so I did it. I’ll give it a try without layering over his vocals some day. Harder than people would think.
@@OldHeadFighta The 'new' version that you took part in was wonderful though. You got it just right!!! The song is quite old. I remember my grandmother singing it.
@@BJRooney-zb6my Thank you. Had I known the intent of the person who put the video together I likely would not have involved myself. The original video was put out on a public forum so I don’t know all of the laws or rules that apply regarding copyright. I see people using clips of videos all the time without issue so I assume this is okay. I only have a few hundred subscribers so I really just put it here as a place to store it as I know it’s not going out to a wide audience. I had actually never heard the song before but it is absolutely beautiful.
I was NOT expecting that...Well done!!!!
Definitely a huge stretch for me. This was the day I came to the realization that my mother, who was struggling with dementia and whose physical health had declined significantly, required a wheelchair. The nursing home where she was staying had this song playing the day prior and I guess I just thought I’d do it for her. I clearly hit a few rough spots during the song but I’m literally just a “hacker” so it’s about the best I could do. I may give it another try one day, try to smoothen out those rough spots, we’ll see, but I appreciate your comment. I recorded all these songs for my mother who, until her health really declined, enjoyed listening to them knowing it was my voice. I guess I can acknowledge she had a built in bias.😉
very good gramps 👍🗣

This is incredible work and I’m hoping the result is that people like me are able to avoid disaster but I wish this was being openly felt here in New Hampshire. I’m now at risk and about to be left out in the cold because of the overreach of the DEA. I’m a Nashua resident with Adhesive Arachnoiditis diagnosed by Dr. Forest Tenant and being treated experimentally by neurologists and rheumatologists at Mass Brigham. However it was my primary care provider that was handling my pain management. For 5 years I’ve been the perfect pain patient. Not one pill more than prescribed, and most often I take less than my daily prescription. The doctors office was just bought out by a large national company that passively forbids any employed physician from doing pain management. My physician has quit(along with several others) in protest. My condition keeps me permanently bed bound without medication and in severe pain. There is no known treatment, and yet the office has said with the departure of my physician I have 30 days to find a new pain management doctor and my prescription will no longer be filled. My pain meds allowed me to work part time as a production manager at a local music venue and spend time with my family while I still have use of my legs, and 30 days from now I don’t know what will happen. I have called several pain management clinics here in New Hampshire and in Mass and they all give the same answer, “we don’t handle prescriptions, we do cognitive behavioral therapy and injections.” No one at Brigham will help either. The clinical research study I’m in is trying to find me someone but they’re not having luck either. If you know anywhere in New Hampshire still providing compassionate care please let me know. I’m happy to share relevant medical documents to show I’m not some “drug seeker” as everyone I’ve spoke to in the last couple of weeks seems to think chronic pain patients are.
Great Video! ❤ Is true....
Chronic pain sufferer for 25 years. Arachnoiditis Doctors won't treat me. I'm 79 yrs old. Live alone. Never pain relief. I'm tired. No joy in life. I no longer want to live. Death would be welcome. I pray every evening for death. Doctors won't take me for patient. I'm no use to anyone anymore. Does anyone understand me?
Each step forward is a step of success.
Can't believe after at least 5 years and solid proof that it was NEVER a prescription drug "crisis", that pain medication and chronic pain patients are STILL stigmatized.
Sharing with my State Rep who’s working on this for Ohio.
Just shared Bill. Thank you !

Congratulations on your success in NH!!
sorry for all the many comment blips but where can I find the details of your bill?
the dea is the medical gustappo... it is not in their purview to make medical decisions, how do you fight for the govt to enforce their own laws they refuse to practically enforce themselves?!?!?
the state medical society like the dept of health? because if that is the case mine was very unhelpful...
No. The Medical Society is a separate entity. An advocacy group for improved healthcare delivery “systems” in each state. They’re very involved in new legislation and changes to regulatory boards such as the Board of Medicine, Board of Pharmacy, etc.
Wow, that's great news for y'all. I don't know where we're at here in Texas, it always seems hopeless but I pray something will be done. CRPS took over my life 10 years ago and they just don't understand what it feels like to be in horrible pain 24/7 - 365. The Texas Senate just extended the bill for medical marijuana but they cut out chronic pain patients to be eligible at the last minute! Don't know if it would help but it would be nice to have something else in pain management since they scowl at the pain medications that help us live a some what functional life. It's just so wrong to leave 100 million chronic pain patients across the country to suffer and be punished for something that's not their fault. I hope more bills in other states are passed. Thanks to people like you, it gives a little bit of hope and also much needed information on what we can do. Take care...Soft ((Hugs)) from Texas. xx
Congratulations on your legislation!! Do they now prescribe? Are the Doctors afraid of the DEA?
Change is happening but until the Board Of Medicine Opioid Prescribing Rule (MED 502) is updated and rolled out to all healthcare delivery systems throughout the state it’s still an uphill battle. The Rule is complete and waiting review by the Joint Legislative Committee on Administrative Rule (JLCAR) changes. It’s a very bureaucratic process - first write the bill, get a sponsor, testify before HHS committee, vote in House, vote in Senate, signed by Governor, incorporated into NH Controlled Drug Act, reviewed and approved by Board Of Medicine, then JLCAR review and approval, then, FINALLY, rollout. It’s crazy but we’re as close as we can possibly be.
Difficult question: Does this legislation also include the elimination of the 90 mme CDC draconian guidelines that essentially became law, based on the PDMP monitoring all of this information? I feel the largest road block when treating cpp is that even if you can get care, it is not individualized the way it use to be, because doctors hands have been tied and bound by the CDC, DEA, and the insurance companies.
Other than the definition of what MME means, all other mention of MME has been removed both in the language in this law AND in the Board Of Medicine Opioid Prescribing Rule which is MED 502
Thank you for this information. Pain warriors unite to receive adequate care for all chronic pain patients. We desperately need legislation in all 50 states, territories and reservation lands.
THANKS SO MUCH! SAVED AND SHARING LIKE MAD! :-)
Great idea to share this info with others! We need more from you and others who have made progress on the issue of opioid therapy legislation change. Truly great info to have to help teams get started on their own paths to change in their own states. Thanks again!
Excellent, Bill!
Breaking News so much fake xanax, oxycodone, adderall, hydrocodone and other prescription medications out there. Now at therxprescription.com/product/buy-xanax-2mg-online/ you can get FDA approved medication without prescription
No our pain no longer matters They would prefer us to use street drugs or suicide rather than treat us.
Hey saw a prospect today... Just moved to the area was interested in joining can you put me on with someone to talk to about that?
Disc Golf-Drunk It is not as easy as “join”. GSBMC is a serious motorcycle club with serious time commitment. You need to ask around, come hang around, get to know club members and the club world.
@@OldHeadFighta I've wanted it my whole life im aware of the commitment... I wanna put in that work... Just need some direction
Easiest way is to join our support crew group on Facebook (if you’re there). Let me know.
If you are on FB, look for Granite State Brotherhood MC Support Crew. Click Join but be sure to answer the security questions. People who overlook the security questions don’t get reviewed.
Is there a way to join a group or email list for the NH Pain Collaboration? I can’t seem to find it on Facebook. I’ve suffered from chronic pain for over two decades and am desperate for help in finding relief.
Kim Beaulieu please see my text to you or my reply in email...
Hi. I am Margaret. Former New Yorker. Now live in Virginia. I could listen to you all day. Thank you for all you are doing to “right the wrongs” in the pain community. Please move to Virginia. We need someone like you. We dont even have a rally planned or even a location for a rally. Will keep my ears open for your bill progress.
Thank-you Mr. Murphy for the explanation of Bill 546. Your pain collaborative has come up with a very thorough and well written bill. I support you 100% as I know many of my colleagues do as well.
Thank You for explaining this proposed bill. I have been a chronic pain patient since 2003, and a member of dontpunishpain.com
I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 13, osteoarthritis in my early 30’s, and recently diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy from antibiotic Ciprofloxacin poisoning. I have never known what it’s like not to be a human being with incurable painful disease and medical conditions. I was able to function, have my own business, and exercise in spite of being a chronic pain patient, because I received humane medical care. Government overreach destroyed that medical care, and I am no longer able to work or exercise. I am needlessly suffering and bedridden. Thank You so much for this bill. I am interested in using it as a model for the state I live in.
Hello My name is Michael and I want to thank you for sharing. I am a 61 year old male and I have been suffering from chronic pain for at least half my life. I suffer from from the time I wake up in the morning until I fall asleep at night, which is a challenge for me. I've visited so many professional Doctors and neither one of them found the reason why I am suffering. Dealing with this pain is so exscruating, that I just don't know if I'm going to survive my remaining years. So I'm just putting this out there that so many people are suffering and don't know which way to turn, and get they quality of life back. If I could get a least 10-20% that would be a lot of improvement for me. So I'm going to end this with, God bless those who are suffering and hope that one day there will be a cure!
Who is this man to the right of drew? He sure does a lot of prognosticating..
I wouldn't trust Dr Drew any more than Dr Phil (who's a huge fraud). If you want the real deal on the ILLICIT OPIOID PROBLEM (still under 3%), see www.drcarlhart.com Columbia University Professor of psychology and psychiatry and the only addiction researcher who actually works with addicts and illicit drugs. Don't drink the govt Kool-aid!
Where did this guy pull those numbers out of?!? Did the DEA add millions to what they last said. Did you read their proposal for cutting back on medications for 2020, which includes causing shortages at hospitals which already have shortages. These guys are so unaware of the severity of pain millions go through and Drew should read all the research on what untreated pain will do to us. They never wanna talk about the affects it has on our already sick bodies. A 13 year old in one of my support groups killed herself yesterday. And no for the slow people, it wasn't with opioids. She had to l no pain control for her disease that every but if education says to treat with narcotics. It's useless arguing this point with idiots like this. The government wants access to our confidential medical information, it's only fair these guys share theirs.I bet "Dr Drew", is on something. Even if he gets a few days worth for a dental procedure he's a hypocrite. I'm not sure what bullshit Drew is saying about Suboxone. There has been story after story of pain medication NOT working for pain. If something like emergency surgery is called for and they attempt to give opioids, they WILL NOT WORK, AND YOU WILL GO INTO SEVERE WITHDRAWAL POSSIBLY KILLING THE PATIENT. One if the components of Suboxone is Naloxone which will make you go into withdraws. How long you've been in it will have an affect on how long and how bad it will be, as well as when opiates will work. Funny it's the same ingredient in NARCAN. Big coincidences, NOT. Opiates aren't paying them enough, they are pushing these drugs. And then there's the part where it can interfere with anesthesia. Oh and I hope they've looked up the data on Suboxone being abused. Hard core heroin addicts preferring to shoot up Suboxone. With as many people with chronic pain that's not ever going to go away for what ever reason. The government should have either waited for other drugs to be made to replace them, or started using drugs that are available such as ketamine. Taking people off medications they've been in for years, who signed contracts, took drug urine screening, subject to pill counts. So their numbers are blown so far out of what they actually are. Well, in case you didn't know, as far as opioid overdoses we are just collateral damage. They put us in the same box with any opiod overdose, heroin, drugs bought on the street, and even cocaine. They found cocaine laced with fentanyl that resulted in deaths. Not quite the narrative they try to sell, it's all public information. The ironic part is this attack on us legitimate pain patients, is why there's all this illegal fentanyl that addicts are dying from. The DEA created the demand and someone is going to see the profit possibilities. It and big coincidence the majority of overdoses are from fentanyl. Why, because addicts chase a high, pain patients just want to be able to have some semblance of a life.We want to be treated with human rights, compassion. So why are we treated so bad by medical staff.
I would like to see what you would do if a railroad spike got lodged between your ulna and radius. If an opioid was on your desk and a psychotropic drug was also on your desk while a shrink offering meditation and massages also at your disposal. Tell me what you would do. Or if you were a soldier wounded in battle, “No thanks sarge, get that morphine out if here!”. Yeah right
