I am a young man who is bound to a wheelchair as I was born with Cerebral Palsy. I have limited vision and my camera is my eyes. Birds are my passion and I love to share my videos on my youtube channel. Please subscribe if you like my uploads....
An eagle flight display
Normally you would have to go into the mountains to ser a Verreaux's Eagle, but this pair lives in the heart of the city at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens in Gauteng. That is why they are so iconic.

Black-collared Barbet pops in
Переглядів 163Місяць тому
In gardens in Gauteng you get two barbet species. This one the Black-collared Barbet and the Crested Barbet. Both come for fruit and you can hang up nesting logs for them. The two species do not like each other and may fight each other.
African Purple Swamphen

This was a really good sighting, as these birds are rather elusive. Your best chance to see them is during a heavy rainstorm. they eat mainly vegetable matter. they will pull the plant stem out of the water by pulling it down with their bill. They tend to be left footed. They also eat roots, ducklings, baby egrets, crabs, leeches, frog and fish eggs and bird eggs.
Black Crake

Now Black Crakes are kind of shy, so it was lucky to see 2 in the open. Listen closely and you can hear their weazing calls.

Crested Barbet hollowing out the nesting log in the wrong place.

The bird must start hollowing in the middle not right at the top. We have fliped the log around, so hopefully the barbet will get it right.

The African Darter (Ophiornis rufus) is a species of darter native to Africa, it is one of the three extant species of the genus Ophiornis, the others being the Asiatic Darter (Ophiornis melanogaster) and the Oceanian Darter (Ophiornis novaehollandiae).

Danny is an amazing young man. He was born with cerebral palsy and is wheelchair bound. He has very bad eyesight, his camera is his eyes. He found a love for feathery creatures at a very young age and can almost recognize any bird by the sound the bird makes. Danny, you are truly an inspiration and thank you for the lovely videos and photos ....keep it coming ...
Danny your videos are amazing! Considering that you have cerebral palsy and your eyesight is very poor, you are doing great. You are an inspiration to all and I am very proud of you! ❤
Beautiful❤
Awesome advice Danny❤
These birds are rescues from a life of captivity and are not able to look after themselves in the wild. This particular macaw is currently in one of the bigger and better bird sanctuaries in South-Africa. It is not caged ... thank you for your interest in bird life... please keep watching my channel.
Hello Daniel - IMr Whydah in my garden has now succeeded in driving ALL the other birds from the garden - my day usually starts with a wonderful gathering of a host of small birds [ weavers, red-bishops and the like] but for the last week there are none. I wish I could capture him and relocate him but that seems so Putinesque.
