Vermont Railway Excursion With Trains Magazine
Переглядів 832 місяці тому
On September 28 and 29, 2024, Trains Magazine ran a photo excursion from Rutland, Vermont to Bellows Falls and Burlington. Surprisingly, the weather was better than expected with highs in the low 70's F and lows in the mid 50's F which is acceptable for shorts! Leaf color was moderate, despite the media saying it was at peak. I recorded back and forth on all of the runbys and have included the ...

The featured locomotive was Denver & Rio Grande Western #463, a class "K-27" 2-8-2 "Mikado" type steam locomotive. The class eventually became known by the nickname "Mudhens". Cajon Pass is a mountain pass between the San Bernardino Mountains to the east and the San Gabriel Mountains to the west in Southern California. Both I-15 and Historic Route 66 use this pass to descend into the Los Angeles area. In addition to highways, this is the route used by railroads. This is one area to watch trains. I think there are others that are more scenic, but there is plenty of ac...
PCC Rear Window View Embarcadero Ferry Bldg to Fisherman's Wharf

A rear view ride on one of the historic PCC trams in San Francisco. I think this was the unit that formerly belonged to SEPTA (Philadelphia, PA). As you can probably tell, this should have been filmed in the opposite direction at this time of day (morning) as we have the sun playing havoc with not so clean windows. I tried to correct with editing software, but there is a limit as to what can be...

Mammoth Lakes Scenic Loop

Traveling north on US 395 in the Eastern Sierra of California, I saw a sign for "Mammoth Lakes Scenic Loop". I decided to film it. It is a very short drive and there is little to see but trees! I don't think I would waste any more time with it in the future! I hope that you enjoy and thanks for watching!
The Road from Bodie, CA
Переглядів 95 місяців тому
Bodie State Historic Park is a genuine California gold-mining ghost town. Visitors can walk down the deserted streets of a town that once had around 2,000 structures and a population of roughly 8,000 people. The town is named for W.S. Body (or Bodey), who had discovered small amounts of gold in hills north of Mono Lake, CA. The town is accessed by a 13 mile road off of US 395. Only 10 miles are...

My grandmother use to go to that bank drive up windowsfrom.car on main street .
I lived on Aberdeen Road where u started driving back aways at tree haven 3
I think that I want to update these with a 4K camera at some point. Thanks for watching!
Hello, just wanted to clarify for everyone because the title is misleading. The SMS doesn’t operate in Bridgeton, NJ they operate in Bridgeport, NJ. You may want to edit the title of this video. Thanks
Oops! I guess the dementia is setting in! LOL! I had the correct name on the video title, but for some reason input the wrong name on the title. If you don't know, there are 2 towns in South NJ named Bridgeport and Bridgeton. Bridgeport is is closer to Swedesboro and the Delaware River. Bridgeton is more "inland" and closer to Vineland. Fixed. Thanks for the note.
PCCs are beauties. I wish they still ran in revenue service in my city. Down to two they use for charters or special occasions. Oh well, at least there's two.
I lived on Texas Road in Matawan, NJ in the late 60's; I lived near the fork in the road; were it splits off to Wilson Ave.
Thank you so much
Do they still do the Wizard of Oz here for the elementary school kids. One of the things I looked forward to every year and going to the planetarium at Salk.
I'm not sure. There are no longer 2 high schools. The old Cedar Ridge was expanded and became Old Bridge High School. It's quite a large building. I have not been inside it. Sandburg Middle School in front of Cedar Ridge (it was a carbon copy of Salk) became the high school for 9th graders. The old Madison Central High School became Carl Sandburg Middle School. There is a lot of construction and development along Rt 9 and along Texas Road. A new ShopRite and Target are in the space between Jake Brown & Schulmeister Rd on Rt 9 (along with other shops). A massive housing development is being built behind this. On the opposite side of Rt 9, a massive warehouse has gone up and Cheesquake Farms is no longer in business. Traffic on Rt 9 is terrible and will most likely get worse with trucks rolling into that warehouse. I may do an update with better cameras, music and with some drone footage.
Used to walk up and down Englishtown rd to go to Voorhees. Saw some familiar landmarks. The bike shop, the old 7-11 next to the creek. I remember after school we’d find some playboys and hustlers in the creek😂. The brown building with the sloped roof used to be a Carvel and before you went to school or after school you’d walk a little out of your way to hit up the store owned by an Asian family for some candy.
Love that horn
The best thing about the USA is that it has beautiful countryside.
That belongs in a museum !

@@t-12productions15 The first location is more or less where they filmed the railroad scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
I do like steam trains but they often need cleaning to avoid too much heat
I loved the video, thanks for sharing it! Of course I especially enjoyed the part that included my bus! Great job!
I'm glad that you liked it!
تعجبني صافرات القطار عندما يمر
So do I!
Soundtrack's pretty painful.
Agreed. This needs to be redone at some point! Also the camera should be positioned to not show the car hood.
Таке прекрасне відео.просто чудо.
Вам колею надо шире делать - 1820 мм😅❤
The BART system does use a wider gauge due to the windy conditions there.
Это метро или трамвай?😅❤
This is a railway museum not far from San Francisco. This would be something closer to a tram, but a tram that connected cities and towns over a greater distance prior to everyone owning a car.

I wonder if there is a way to get up on the "self line" area to set up without going on a photo charter.
Nice tugboat pirouette.... Where were you for this one a ❓
This was in Iceland last year. I was hoping to post this as a "short" video, but something is off with the format size. It might also be that you have to create a short on your phone. I'm not seeing an option to do it via computer.
OBHS 2004 graduate here. I remember when OBHS had two campuses- East and West. The current OBHS was actually called the East Campus before.
If you go way back, it was called Cedar Ridge when first built!
@@christopherbuckley94 I remember when some students had to shuttle in between two campuses during the day. That must have been a pain the butt. I wasn't one of them fortunately.

Is it me or does it sound like a GE Dash 9 starting up?
ALCo and GE used to be partners, so it's no coincidence that the early GE engines share some similarities with the ALCo ones.
Thanks for sharing this, I haven't been there in years but my grandpa took me there a bunch when I was a kid. It's great to see everything is still up and running!
I remember going back in the 1970's for the first time!

Would have been better without the music.
The problem was that there was private conversations recorded during filming that I did not want to make public! It's always difficult to choose appropriate Creative Commons music for these projects. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Congratulation.....!!!!!Very good job.😊
Awesome stuff! Glad you enjoyed the event, and got some video. Hopefully next time we won't be blessed with the hottest day of the summer.
I've visited here many times over the years. I loved seeing the work done to restore various locomotives to operational status especially the steamers. Don't get me wrong, love the diesels, too! Loved seeing a Burlington Northern diesel with a fresh coat of paint, one year, in the shed. Beautiful. Would also enjoy seeing a blue and white Rock Island restored if the opportunity ever comes. I appreciate the museum and what every one there does.
Agreed!
moo! moo!
I hope to see the Cass Scenic Railroad, one day.
wow
That was a un trip to be on. Nice job with the video and editing. I like that you included some Sunday action, including the band.
Thanks. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. It was a good trip with perfect weather.
Plain English & so helpful. Thank you
I'm glad that it was helpful.
Shouldn't this train go any faster?
Trains of the 1860s often ran between 10 and 15mph. Rare instances of "high speed" 20-45mph running are documented.

Hi, this is one the border between the US States of Colorado & New Mexico. Part of the old narrow gauge section of the Rio Grande Railroad that served the various mines in the area. They mainly extracted silver.
Thanks for the great video, Christopher! I was on that train and hoped a video would be released!!
I'm glad that you enjoyed it. The C&TSRR is one of my favorites!
Great video! I live in San Luis and will definitely take that ride, hopefully this fall. Nice use of the tall shadows at the end - in true Western movie form. Thank you!
Thanks!
