Balanced on two wheels | Lit Motors AEV of the future
Compact yet spacious, safely enclosed, and efficient in every aspect-spend less time and money stuck in traffic, and more time doing things you actually want to do. The Lit Motors AEV is designed to streamline the drive, whether you're commuting to work or going on a weekend joyride.
Our vehicle is an exciting exploration in vehicle architecture, leading a new era of sustainable transportation.
Consider this:
🚘 Transportation accounts for 29% of carbon emissions in the US
👤 75% of people in the US drive alone (50% globally)
⚡️ The typical EV battery produces 18 TONS of CO2 over its lifecycle
The solution? Cut the car in half, make it 6-8x more efficient, cut emissions by simplifying manufacturing and reducing battery size (and make it really, really cool! 😎)
Our AEV is projected to produce only 1.8 tons of CO2 over its lifecycle, which is a whopping 90% reduction in emissions. Be kinder to the planet (13.2 miles / kWh) AND your wallet (only $2.50 per 170 mile charge in California - price may vary per state) 💸💸💸

Why two gyroscopes? | Groundbreaking use of space satellite technology
Переглядів 6 тис.5 місяців тому
Founder & CEO Daniel Kim showcases four different gyroscopes, how they work, their placement in the AEV, and why our vehicle architecture utilizes two gyros over one. What are gyroscopes used for? Gyroscopes are typically used in earth observation satellites, but we've brought them down to a terrestrial application! Why two gyroscopes? 1. One gyro runs out of the precession budget and creates u...

Balanced on two wheels | Space satellite gyroscopes
Переглядів 15 тис.5 місяців тому
The twin Control Moment Gyroscopes (CMGs) located at the base of the vehicle are the foundation of the AEV’s technical innovations. These massive gyroscopes are typically used for space satellite positioning - we’ve brought this technology down to earth, creating a self-balancing, gravity defying vehicle. Not only do the CMGs make the Dynamic Balance System (DBS) possible, they enable a safer, ...

Follow along as we build a pathfinder prototype at our Portland Vehicle Integration Lab. This pathfinder chassis is not meant to be driven, but will be designed to be a low cost, early iterative step to ensure our full scale gyros and controls system work together to balance, based on our new core control patent issued last year. We built and gridded out a surface plate to begin this process. T...

Cant wait for this to come to market, amazing work, well done.
Thank you for your support!
Trying to raise more money for a product that will go nowhere, look at the history of this company and this guy.
great tech! 1/ have you considered using smaller/lighter gyros for stability at low speeds and using steering actuation for high speed stability? less weight and less energy loss to keep rhe gyros spinning. 2/ if lighter gyros is not an option, you should consider using the gyros energy storage/flywheel for regen/acceleration ? regen while slowing slowing down could be used to spin the gyros faster, storing energy like 1st gen F1 KERS, while providing increasing stability at lower speeds, and then accelerating could use the energy from the gyros used as flywheel to power the motor with minimal draw from the battery. you would get better regen efficiency (no electricity > chemical > electricity conversion), electric output increase (not limited to the battery output), longer battery life (less cycles) two 40lbs gyros with 20cm radius spinning 10krpm give about 200Wh best case. this may not sound like a big energy buffer compared to batteries but the ability to charge/discharge the energy fully in a few seconds with great efficiency an no wear is very useful. 200Wh is 3 times the energy to bring a 360kg +80kg driver up to 75mph!! (sorry for the imperial/metric mess😂) assuming 100% efficiency you would actually only need to slow down the gyros from 10krpm to 8krpm to accelerate from 0 to 75mph... obviously you would need powerful electric motors to accelerate / decelerate those gyros quickly enough but motors are cheaper/lighter than batteries and the rotor weight would be integral part of the gyro, so actually little weight penalty this is my gift (no patent) to your project 😂
It's been over 10 years, and mate, even you're getting old! But still, LITE has not been able to get investment, to start mass production or to put it on the market. What do you expect in the near future?
Reduced carbon emissions and a more balanced equitable lifestyle.
I love this man
10,000 rpm gyros , what could possibly go wrong ?😂
Way less than 10,000 RPMs
Count me in!
1:30 CMG's are also used for stabilizing roll and pitch in boats. Called the "Seakeeper"
This satellite gyroscope implementation is so fucking brilliant. Kudos to whom ever added that in R&D 👏👏
If I don’t need insurance I’m buying one
This will provide a completely new driving experience. With the gyroscopic assist, it will feel like nothing we have ever driven before. The enhanced safety should reduce injuries. I hope that does not lead to daredevils "flying" them at unsafe speeds in congested traffic...for fun.
I will cop as soon as they are available
We want this. But gas and motorcycle configuration.
I would live this to be on roads one day painted in Cyberpunk 2077 scheme
You are ma hero Mr. Daniel Kim Sensei please in Japan and S.Korea I need it for long distance commute
Move to Tennessee! We love to have innovators set up shop here. Business friendly environment and you research, design and manufacturing dollars go much further.. love you product! And yes, this biker would buy one, ESPECIALLY if you make the doors removable, like a Jeep, for good weather riding!
ud 15 thn blm jadi" juga.. 😢😢
Wish and hope for your success.
Thank you for your support!
Could it drive without tilting like a motor cycle. A comfort mode vs performance mode
Tilting is more comfy because you dont have side g forces acting on your body
C1 car is very nice and very good bike for safety and environment 👍️👍️
I will buy this kind of bike in future. it's safe and easy.
I will buy it at least 2 in coming future.
terlalu lama bertahun tahun
last scene = give me money!
People have been waiting for years. Just release it already! It will never be "perfect" and don't talk about safety...this is already safer than motorcycles. If you don't release it and get it to the masses, it will never get meaningful improvements in a "lab/test environment". Early adopters should know the risks in buying a vehicle like this. I want one now!
Man been seeing this for years. I don’t understand why it’s not on the market yet??? I want one…it’s been years…
Very interesting! Very good for congested urban areas
GREAT idear!!! .-)
How much can it tow?
I see things like this promoted in videos all the time but I've never seen one available for sale in the U.S. Maybe someday.
Totally not a ripoff of the bmw c1 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_C1
In india launch 🎉🎉🎉
Two seater and aptera solar panels
When will we get to buy them?
I want this in Bharat
add comma ai to this thing and it will be an interesting little product
0:25 in reality, the collision completely shatters the AEV into pieces, including the gyroscopes that would have kept it upright.
All will have to been considered in this development cycle.
Innovative for motorcycle ev.. if only this is in mass production and price goes down .good luck to the makers..awesome..
When will this thing hit the market
I was all hyped but the price is double what I would pay. 100kmh is fast enough. There is too much range/battery is too large, I wouldn't drive more than 100 km for a round trip. (I drive a Twizy) I cannot wait to see them on the road!
They’ve been talking about this 16yrs ago. I think it will come into production around yr 2030
Two drawbacks. Price and non-removable battery
So enough with these concept, vehicles, you need to put them in production or get the hell out of the business. So whoever the investors are that’s financing this project, must have very deep pockets, because you don’t make money by just designing concept vehicles, and making UA-cam videos about your concept, vehicles, you make money by actually selling a product, that people wanna buy. So I say, enough already, either shit or get off the pot!🤬🤬🤬
Navidia should invest in this
I wish you good luck!
Thank you for your support!
I think it’s a great idea but when is it going to be seriously marketed or is it still at the prototype stage after all these years. I’d love to see one out on the road or better still go for a test ride.
