I am working up in Utqiagvik, Alaska. When I first got here in May the Arctic was frozen solid. We actually walked out and it and took photos. This was a hard hike. I think we waited too far into the season. This would have been a lot more enjoyable had we done it in August. We still made the most of it. There isn't as much video as I would have liked. We were pretty focused trying to make sure we were out of the rough parts before we lost light.

O'Brien Creek Trail to Grayback Mountain Southern Oregon

I used the O'Brien Creek Trail from the upper TH to make my way to Grayback Mountain. There isn't an official trail over to Grayback Mountain, so once I got to Windy Gap I followed the ridge over. I haven't been there since the mid 1960's. Nice to see it's all still there. I've been to almost every lake the Marble Mountains. We were all about the fishing back then.
I am hoping to go to the Marble Mountains again next year.
@@Jennielogan Great! Every day spent in the Wilderness is a day well spent. I noticed you weighed your packs and that's good. Even on a 10 day hike I limited my pack to 35 pounds. It's supposed to be fun and not something you dread. We counted on eating fish though too. It makes a better fisherman out of you. lol

You guys went to my favorite place, I know the exact spot you camped, It’s November day after Thanksgiving and I’m literally considering going up there tomorrow the weather is clear!! but it’s going to be cold!!! watching your video is motivating me. Most of the trout to catch are in the middle Lake, and if you go above to shadow Lake on top of the cliffs across the lake tons of trout. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Nothing like a ladybug sandwich 🤣🤣. I honestly wish I would have got more video of how many there were. That was just a small spot where they were clustered together. There was like a whole mountain of them

@@Jennielogan how far is the hike to the lake or can you drive to it?
@@mazlosoutdooradventures8594 it's about 4 miles in to the first lake and an additional mile to get to the second one. The hike isn't very steep, so it's not a difficult one. That being said, no you can't drive to it.

@@JoshBrownPhotography I need a smaller day pack or hydration pack. My smaller backpack is a camera bag, so there isn't a spot for it.
Was there a cave-in at one time in the back of that cave?
I honestly don't know, it looked like a solid wall though. There were 2 caves, both about the same size, and they were pretty similar to each other.

It is one of my favorites so far! The only con I can think of, it was a bit more crowded than I had hoped for. We didn't have any problems finding places to camp with privacy though.
