Straight VINEGAR worked for me... shrank a 2" diam flat O-ring down about 1/2" less circumference in just 30 min... just put 1/4" or vinegar in a cup and put in the o ring (or other rubberized seal) wait 30 min. chk ev 15 min. john Doe BEWARE: Gasoline will eat into the super glue and dissolve it, now you got a leak. use super glue only on non petroleum ideas.
I forgot to mention to make sure you use distilled vinegar and KFC honey, NOT real honey. Go get some of this - images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/218NexGID1L.jpg - to clean the part and start all over again.
