    Just swapped my old 190CC for the 223CC from B&S. It was $295 versus the Kohler folks have mentioned was is $200 more. Video was spot on in terms of how to remove the old one and replace the new one. Two points I'd emphasize. Definitely need the tap on the new 223cc 3/8 16th. Also, working to get the three bolts back in place on the new engine took me several tries as things just didn't line up right at first. That bracket requires some wiggling to get it back just right. Agree that putting the bolt on first without the bracket is the way to go. Taking the engine off was <20 min. Putting the new one on and messing with it was more like 90 minutes with trial and error on the bolts.

    Thank you for watching the video! I transport the equipment two ways. Sometimes I break the equipment down and loaded into the trailer all the way in the back standing up and position the Ferris right at the end of the trailer the size of the trailer is a 5 x 10 everything does fit. The other way is utilizing my other truck, if I have help, I’ll load up the equipment in the back of the Ford I like doing that better but I don’t always have someone helping. As far as hooking up the Ferris to the cyclone rake, I got a couple pieces of steel hold it together with bolts. Fast forward to now I would not recommend pulling anything heavy with the Ferris Z1. It is not a tractor. You’re going to ruin your hydraulics. Ask me how I know.

I tried saving a buck by getting a bunch of belts from Amazon thinking I could save time and money by not having to run to the dealer to get a belt when and if it broke. The Amazon belts I was having issues with were made in china. The belts I’m using now, that I get from the dealer that gets them from toro, is made in Mexico. I am in the process of doing the same thing you just did, replacing the engine with the same size. I have paid to have it done in the past but I figured I have replaced everything on this model mower at some point and time except the engine so why not. Nobody had a video of just an engine swop. I exclusively run my exmark with spindle covers off. You don't want debris finding a forever home on your deck. Imagine a pine cone getting in there. Plus you can easily blow off your deck after every cut. And it looks badass. No one, including the operator, should be approaching the deck with blades engaged.

  • @rbljackson
    @rbljackson 7 місяців тому

    Quick question.. I purchased a z1 this year brand new. I went to grease spindles today and there doesn’t appear to be zirk fittings on either of them. They are just open holes with grease in them. I used a q tip to clean off the dirt and debris and grease and they look to be threaded. Should I have Zirkfittings on the top of those?Dis you add the kirks to yours? I’m guessing they should come that way from the factory. Seems wrong to me allowing dirt and water to enter spindle bearings.

    The Timemaster is the ultimate tease of the home lawncare enthusiast mower line. In theory, it's a great concept. Perfect sweetspot for lawns too small for a tractor, too big for a 21" push mower. In practice, it's an absolute nightmare to maintain the unit. The number of pulleys, belts and tensioners that have had constant breakage / replacement / maintenance is mind boggling. What's more mind boggling to me is Toro's complete unwillingness to acknowledge and address these well known issues - for over a decade! The first 1 or 2 generations of the Timemaster? Fine, I get it, it's a new product, these things have to be worked out. We are now > 12 years in to manufacturing of this unit. Can we fix and or address and or update any of these design problems so they actually work and last off the assembly line? No? Why not? The answer is they don't give a shit. How about this as a compromise - can the engineers at least update the design so we don't have to waste an entire Saturday afternoon taking apart the entire machine, to replace the parts which frequently fall apart due to crap quality control on Toro's side? Super, super disappointed in Toro on this front. The second they get real competition in the 28 - 30" mower line I'm never purchasing another Toro product again.

    Had one 10 years, probably did 20 yrs of cutting though. The only belt issue I had is with the self propell belt stretching out and slipping. Major pain to change that belt for sure.

    I just bought the same mower over the weekend. So its 2 quarts and a filter per side correct? Thanks for this.....always helps to visualize what will need to be done thru a video.

    Great video mate!! Next time get the hydro kit that comes with the fluid filter and an adapter that you screw in where you removed the "bleed" bolt. It has a manual pump that screws to the quart bottle and you can pump the two quarts in less than 5 minutes. The next time just buy the fluid and filters and use the same adapter and pump from the kit used before. A time saver.

      It’s not as hard as I made it look. But I will check in the morning to see what this service would cost at my local shop, and pin it in the comments. Obviously prices will vary from state to state, shop to shop. But will give us all a sense of how much this cost. Thanks for watching the video.

    I've had a 621 QZE for years. It's been abused no doubt. Still runs great, but bought new belt and paddles for it. I've even used it in the back yard to make dog paths to go potty. I like the Ariens you have in the truck. I picked up a 28 inch Ariens last year. We got a lot of snow last year, only used it once this year. But it's great for clearing out what the plow puts in the driveway.

      It’s awesome how easy it is to get parts for the toro single stage snow blowers!! They just keep going. Ariens snow blowers parts are easy to order as well! So we are in good hands. Thanks for watching the video, and taking the time to leave a comment.
