You are surprised because you are led to believe from an early age that America is the greatest nation on earth, your ok ...don't know about the greatest though.
I'm in the Netherlands. Guess what ? I don't have to work. People call me lazy, I call myself efficient. I'm really thinking about taking on travelling as a hobby. The news makes me sad.
People like Ronald Reagan have force fed you the idea that the more influence the government has in your personal life, the more like Communism and the worse everyone will be off. But as a matter of fact, when the government does not mandate unions, paid holidays and other public services like affordable healthcare, then no one will. The government needs to be the balancing weight making sure both companies and people can flourish, but as of late, the people side has not gotten a lot of attention. Housing prices have grown exponentially, whereas wages have barely kept up. This idea that every government aid would be the first step of making the US communist is insane. In the UK, France and Germany there have been checks like these for over a century. The US didn't need them at the time, but it has lots it's balance.
This is also why you can have the same job in Europe as someone in America but you'll only get half the salary.
Yeah but in America you pay for your own 401k, you pay for health insurance, AND you still have to pay for healthcare because insurance is basically just a discount coupon for the actual cost of healthcare. I work for a British based company with a location in the US. My British colleagues make 30-40% less but have better job security, 3x the days off, are healthier and happier than us US folks who work weekends and holidays.
Americans coping 😂 yeye Americans live so much better lives. I mean imagine how healthy they are compared to Europeans! Also never tell Americans about Swiss salaries. It might confuse them that the average Swiss salary is more than twice as high as the American one plus they also get all those cool benefits that other Europeans get.
@@Ruffles2012 I don't work weekends or holidays? Average Americans do not work weekends or holidays. And I make 3-4x the average British salary, way more than 30-40%. I am very healthy and happy.
We have been force fed the idea of freedom while simultaneously being convinced we must work hard and continuously until retirement when we can relax and enjoy the fruits of our labor. We must also take on incredible debt( student loans, mortgages, car notes) while getting married, raising and paying for kids and possibly their college, contributing to 401k at max and saving so we don’t have to depend on Social Security in our retirement or have to get a part time job. Our leaders ie Corporations, are not interested in our mental, emotional, physical or spiritual health. “They” refuse to believe that a happier healthier workforce would actually increase productivity and profits!
