Tires - Honda CB450 - Cafe Racer - Part 7
Переглядів 1,7 тис.3 роки тому
Back to work on our Honda CB450 Cafe Racer Project. In part 7 of the series I try, and ultimately fail, to mount a set of Dunlop D404 tires on the stock rims of our Honda CB450. Unfortunately, after numerous attempts I was unable to get the rear tire to fully seat on the rim. Not every step of a build goes to plan and this was no exception. Missing Welch Plugs 1974 Honda CB360G
Переглядів 7373 роки тому
For some reason the welch plugs on my 1974 CB360G carburetors are missing. A very observant viewer pointed it out and noted that it could be causing a lean condition. I managed to source some replacement welch plugs and in this video I'll show you how I installed them. Rearset Mounts - Honda CB450 - Cafe Racer - Part 6
Переглядів 1,3 тис.4 роки тому
Brake linkage return spring follow-up and rearset mounting plate fabrication. Progress has slowed a bit due to the cold weather and general life interruptions but I did manage to get the return spring sorted out for the rear brake pedal and I made a pair of mounting plates from 1/4" steel plate. #cb450 #caferacer #rearsets
Rear Brake Linkage - Honda CB450 - Cafe Racer - Part 5
Переглядів 3,1 тис.4 роки тому
Custom brake linkage and actuator for Tarozzi rearsets and the factory Honda rear brake pull rod. It took quite a lot of trial and error but I think we finally have a solid solution for the rear brakes. #caferacer #hondacb450 #rearsets

In this video I install an 88cc "big bore" kit on my 1982 Honda C70 Passport in an attempt to squeeze a little bit more power out of this awesome little motorcycle. I also make some fuel mixture and jetting changes to compensate for the larger combustion chamber volume. #c70 #bigbore #jetting

You never adjusted the GAP on the right point after you adjusted gap on left point! Gotta adjust BOTH gaps to spec before you set the timing. Why did you not check and adjust right point??
Where did you get these headers?
This is the correct way, Great instruction. Gap matters! Adding some heat-shrink tubing to your screwdriver shank or Allen key is some added protection from shorting if you forget to turn off the key.
Hello Michael, just came across your videos on the CB77 restoration. Very good work! I got a 1965 Honda CB72 for christmas from a godd friend and it needs also restoring. In this episode I see you soldering thes bullet connectors to the wiring loom. Where did you get them? I only have the crimp on connectors ans serached for the ones you use without finfing them. Best whishes Uli, Ravensburg Germany
Cb360t is the disc brake i think that was the scrambler with just CB360
I had a friend who had one of these. His dad was a Harley racer in Ohio, and bought it for him at Reiser's Harley Davidson. Originally it was kept in Ohio, but my friend wanted to race where we lived in West Virginia. In West Virginia we do Motocross and hill climb. So, after his old man heard he wanted to race, he brought the bike out, he even put a fiberglass race seat on it. I gotta tell ya, this bike was no motocross bike, but Rodger was determined! The Harley was no match for the Yamaha MX125s, Pentons, Maicos, Rickmans, etc., of 1972. He made is one and a half laps before crashing and giving up. He might have done better on the Baja 100 of the time as it was more suited, but I doubt it. My friend did become a professional racer under the tutelage of his father, even racing in the Grand Nationals. 👍 A nice little bike, but not a market competitor at the time.
This head design is similar to the CB72. A great tutorial. Thanks for investing your time.
Thanks for sharing your insight on this topic Michael- was considering same for my Passport also, but now think I'll just rebuild a CT110 (Trail 90 derivative) and pop it in. Mine was great when I lived at sea level in coastal Monterey, but now in the mountains at 7350 feet elevation, she doesn't quite have the spunk she used to. Yours is an absolutely pristine example- enjoyed the video.
I used to own a cb160 yes ago,so found the video and interesting thing to watch,,,but have that annoying trashy music playing in the background and at the same trying to listen to your commentary,,,I gave up in the end,
hello, Where did you find wheels? I am looking for same for my 1982 honda cb450t hawk. I like old school wheels! Thank you, Alex
The 1N4001 might not be enough for some motorcycle electricals that could draw more than 1A of continuous current. It is better to use a 6A10 diode with a forward current rating of 6A.
Thanks for showing this!
Nice one ! Do these have points ?
Maybe you can help me out on paint. Do you have the paint code and name of the color of your bike? I am having a REALLY hard time trying to find it. Everyone says "VMR Paints" but VMR has no colors shown or better yet pictures of finished examples associated with their paint codes. Tanks are sold in India with that exact color, but they don't sell the rest of the painted parts for matching. Granted, I would prefer to re-paint my original parts anyways...
Can get honda C50 for C70 conversation
I had one in the mid-70s to the mid-80s! It was a dream! 🤗❤
I said to my roommate, "I think he's forgetting something".
Hi. As far as I see after you install the bigger cylinder you got to go with a higher flow exhaust and higher flow bigger carburetor, and also you need bigger valve head with the valve.
I had one. One year-17000km, some trips (tour de Corse/ warmly recommended, Alps). I had bought it cause twin and nice look. But was an iron...weak engine, weak brakes, poor comfort from saddle, approximative handling... I sold it and bought a XT500, he he he he....😎
Good job!
Spot on video. I tried the common motors video of this process however theirs was wrong in this case. Your gap adjustment and steps were great thank you!
Hi, Michael. I have this same exact bike. I have been doing some research on these lately! Everything on my bike is original and excellent shape! Awesome bikes for sure!
Hi
Thanks this was helpful!
Are resistor required for the turn signals if the bike (CB360) has daytime running lights?
Bike's cool I do like your shop .
Best bikes ever built. Value is rising too
I have an 82 passport and I'm about the same weight also live on a hilly road. It seems to have enough power just shift into 2nd up the hills.
I de-restricted the exhaust on a day 1990 Honda elite 49cc 2-stroke. Whatever the power I expected to gain - say it was 10% more - I enlarged the main jet hole diameter by the square root of that, assuming that the flow through it was related to the square of the diameter. So for a 10% increase of fuel, I increased the diameter by like 3%. It worked great. That bike was indestructible, well except I broke the rear suspension twice from jumping the scooter. Easy fix and the bike performed for me then my friend for years of abuse.
Cool how easy it would be to swap a piston…
would go great with my hennaed hair . I remember when Harley came out with them . I wanted one soooo bad . 😢❤❤❤❤
Wow, I can't thank you enough; I am sure I can take on this task after your video!! Kudos brother!!
I learned a lot from you me Thank you so much.
Really nice work! Any chance you have the angles for the tubes you can share? 🙂
Brought one new same colour in 1975 for my first motorbike.
old post but...where did you get the pic/drawings that are beside you on your bench of the brake assembly
Michael. Just noticed you installed a volt meter. Do you have a video out for that? Thanks for posting this vid . Very helpful.
Identical to theCB360 I owned 40yrs ago, good solid bike very reliable 💎 Auckland New Zealand 2024

lovely bike - looks and sounds like fun
Do you know where I can find a picture of the wiring diagram for the ECU ? I am trying to get a 1969 running and that is all I have left to do is the wiring but I’m stumped
What tires did you go with...still holding the vintage look
I drove a CB160 across the USA in 1966, loved it.
Hello I messaged you on your instagram, I have a question about my Rapido. Need some help on wiring!? Would really appreciate some help
