$100 PANEL SAW DIY
Panel saw made with conduit and eye bolts used as a track. I used window latches on each corner so I can remove the saw or reposition it. Lightweight and cheap. It’s a very simple design. Fun diy project that small enough for any size shop. This project was probably less than $100.

very cool, how's it going a few years later? would you change anything?
This looks great! I would like to try this.
Counterweight! Much easier than springs. I'm totally stealing this, but I'll mount it to the back of my miter saw stand, and incorporate some storage. Thanks for the visuals; I was playing with the idea.
Nice one
Do you have design or drawing, dimensions? It actually looks like it could easily be built to fold up compactly. Great job, sir!
You could probably get some bearings and rig up cheap rollers on the conduit that would be smoother. All in all. Awesome build
Oh, this is cool!!! I love the router addition, & that you can make lengthwise cuts as well. I'm a salvage artist/woodworker, & often assemble large panels from smaller boards, making modular & adjustable furniture. No matter how well I measure/square/cut, there always seems to be some variation between panels. Assembling 2-3 of those panels together for a project amplifies that variation to an annoyance that costs hours to fix. I'm looking at making my table saw more accurate, & building one of these to make each panel match others more precisely. Thanks for the video!
Get cheap skateboard bearings
Wax the pipes
This is awesome
Very cool design utilizing the KISS philosophy. You have one more subscriber.
I really like the window latch release idea.
@2:45 ... RIP headphone users
Great but I don't like the eye bolts I would prefer rollers of some kind because the bolts will wear the rail away even if it's only a sixteenth of an inch not to mention the scraping noise after a hangover ! 😱
Best build I've found on this, thank you so much for sharing it and congratulations, again this is awesome! Would love to see a video cutting a board too. Regards!
Build me one 😁
Yes thank you. About the notice. Try some wax. I've used it in so many things. It just might work!
Would like to have plans
very simple and nice!!!!
That's exactly the tipe of wall im interested in building
Cool setup, cheap and easy, just the way I like it!
420th like.
Neat idea.
Do you have plans available?
Well done. One of the best I've seen while doing my research.
Now this is a diy a regular person can do. Finally
Those that are asking for plans should not be working with wood in the first place. Seriously, if you are unable to build this simple thing by watching the video stay away from power tools.
Exactly what I was thinking. He just showed it to you! You know the measurements of a sheet of plywood. What more do you need?
Hoping you will create plans. I desperately need this in my business. debraparker63@gmail.com
Very nice build for the money i like the ability to put it easily through a doorway and your window latch idea you can buy a commercial panel saw for $1200,00. At Lowes thats the least expensive one ive found but of course a hundred dollars is better plus you gain some value able shop space. Building your version rather than losing a entire wall in a shop Permanently attaching another machine that the majority of us are always tight on space as. A rule
I like this simple idea. What I want to build is a vertical panel saw which I can put away after I am done but which I can break down & put in my truck then set up alongside my truck or against a wall for on site work. Using a circular saw (I hate circular saws with a passion) on 8x4 sheets laid flat just plain sucks. It is inaccurate (unless you want to take time to set up a track saw guide every time), dangerous & time consuming. I just want to bring a sheet, drop a sheet in place & cut a full 4' at the right length all within a minute or two. In an ideal world a vertical slide which allows an 8' cut would be amazing.
A video doing a rip cut will be nice and some set of plans
Grease those rails with heavy grease
Excellent DIY panel saw. Do you have the plan for this. If so please share with me at dennijay@gmail.com Thanks in advance.
Will panel saws eliminate any chances of getting seriously hurt? I love wood working but am terrified of getting really hurt, I’m trying to find the safest way to enjoy the hobby
The more you fear, the worse your are going to get cut.
Brilliantly Simple design and crisp video explaining the features. Thanks for sharing
I want to subscribe, but you only have one video? 😭😭😭 Great video by the way 👌🥰👍 thank you very much
Genius
I like the simplicity of the design and the budget factor. Curious though about putting the saw in sideways to do rip cuts, how do you plan to keep the saw from moving up/down as you feed the wood through. I understand the bucket of dirt is the same weight as the saw sled to keep it balanced, but the saw needs to lock in place or it may move as you cut. Have you tried rip cuts since this?
Keeping with the same simplicity motif, I would use a few hose clamps and tighten them around the conduit above and below the eye-bolts of the sled. But there are many ways to go about it.
Do you have plans for this. interested un making one
Nice design I like the simplicity factor and that it’s reasonably mobile to go thru a standard door like most of us shop space is always at a premium and with your design its nice that you can roll the thing around for storage and to use in other locations i also like that it will go up and down thresholds as you stated
Hey Charles, great idea on the design and build of this panel saw. For retired people leaving on a budget, these kind of ideas are great. Could you create parts list or do an update video outlining the parts and sizes. I have learn how to use Google's Sketchup (free) with the parts measurements I can do a sketch and send it back to you for posting alone with your video. Thanks and continue posting.
Did you ever get this
Hi so sorry! I never did expect this to attract so many people! I’m glad y’all like it. I will get around to adding a parts list and all the info you need to build your own. I haven’t been on this account since I made this video. I had accident at work and I’m still recovering. 4 surgeries and counting. Thank you for the support guys!
@@thriftycarpentry6407 We all hope you're feeling better!
Brilllant my man!
Do u have plans for this
Be nice if you had a parts list...Going to make this saw...Thanks
Clever use of eye bolts. Cool
Adding some wax to your conduits and eye bolts might help reduce the squeaking. Great build :)
I was thinking about the same. Wax paper works really well to smooth out the tubes.
Can you only only do a cross cut?
