I’m running one arrma 3s granite maxed out with upgrades except no m2c bash bar . But if I break a chassis maybe . They don’t need any upgrades but the 6s shocks helped a lot with big air jumps . I land on throttle all the time tbh . Conscious of it but it’s been that way with zero issues . I did get the steel diffs and slipper but I doubt the front needed to be steel or the slipper . That rear diff was always breaking down the input pinion and/or the diff gear . Not many other issues besides the stock servo went same time as the plastic ball swivels , the new ones come with steel balls 👍. It’s that link after the servo saver on the older arrmas that wears out and makes sloppy steering . Ali express has the aluminum servo savers everyone on eBay and Amazon re sells for a higher price . It’s no secret but it does work good for me , same with the cheap servo from Amazon we all been using . I will say the 40kg blue one is noticeably better on 6s kratons , way better than stock imo . We used to drill a hole in the plastic servo savers and squeeze in some silicone and let it dry for 3 days to stiffen up the spring but still allow movement to not break . I took one apart and could t get it back together so that’s why the hole is drilled and filled . Somehow it works great but for $5 I ll stick with that cheap aluminum set up . The alum bellcrank for $8 isn’t t half bad either . These newer ones shouldn’t have any issues with the steel pivot balls .

Really interested in getting this Valkyrie, thing that is putting me off though. Is the odd fitting wheel specs, as I understand it after market wheels do not fit the Valkyrie. Their are issues with the tires catching the body shell & fender at the front wheels. They use a really odd offset on the stock wheels, the wheels from the Wov racing trucks do fit. As they share the same wheel fittment to the Valkyrie, you cant even add hex extender to move the wheels out to clear the body. Due to the stock hexes going onto the axles on a spline & not a pin through the hexes.

Which one is faster between the valkyrie and the mjx?

I love my Gorgon. My first ever Arrma when it came out a little over a year ago. Mines still bone stock. I just bought a 2s Lipo for it instead of using the NIMH battery they give you. And I added a wheelie bar (3s big rock bolts right on) and a cooling fan for the motor. I’ve driven the daylights outta mine, and have yet to break anything! It’s such a durable RC car. What I appreciate the most is it’s 2wd and only goes about 25-30mph at best which reminds me of my RC car days as a kid in the 80’s. Not every RC car has to be 4wd or go 50mph to be a ton of fun!

I also subbed 👊🏼 You drive your cars like most of us, in your big yard blasting around. Not everyone has tracks and skate parks down the street to go to. And not all of us like watching people bust these things up by ramping them at skate parks 40 foot in the air.

Awesome. Those 223s Arrma cars are pretty quick and seem durable. I love my 2s Gorgon, 3s granite, and 4s outcast. I also really love this pink and purple color scheme. I appreciate that these companies are starting to give us a wider range of body color ways now. Everything being red, blue, green, or black gets boring as hell 😂 Also, thank you for letting us take the “walks of shame” with you when it flips over instead of editing them out. 😎 That’s reality right there.

Hosim is a decent company but yeah you’re right. I would buy the terminator over this. Both are good but I think the terminator would be more enjoyable

I bought both of these as well, at $80 for the Voltage it was a no brainer. In spite of what everybody thinks, the Voltage is still far superior to the trucks I ran in the 80's and for less money, even back then. Really the only weak point is the drive cups. Upgrade those and it's a good little truck. I ended up swapping my entire Gorgon electrics into it right out of the box, and it runs great. I ended up doing upgrades to the Gorgon, so it worked out. The Voltage will get all metal drive gear if and when the stock one gives out. Other than upgrading the shocks, which isn't really necessary, the Voltage is as good as any other 2WD truck, after a drivetrain upgrade. Of course the cost of upgrading the Voltage puts it in Gorgon pricing, but if you have one and it breaks, at least it can be made beefier. Plus, these trucks are extremely light, so that's a plus.

I have them both and they are fun. The only problem is that the granite gears break easily if you upgrade to brushless

It will be a bent motor plate mate mines be bashed hard over and over at skateparks ect, I fitted fuel tubing under my motor to stop the plate from bending out the centre, I never strips out a spur gear to be fair, they definitely like a well set mesh though mate

I put a tazer 12t esc and12 turn brushed motor on 2s and better servo and 19 tooth pinion works great

Are you sure your motor plate isn't bent? Once it's bent, it's not going to mesh right and you'll strip spur gears nonstop. M2C makes a carbon one that won't break. It also sounds a little tight IMO. You've got that high pitched whining noise.

the stock motor mounts on these kinda suck, they allow it to flex where it hooks into the chassis. exotek racing makes a mount that locks it solid if you wanna give it another chance, I've been running one on my pro4 sc10 running a HW max 10 system. I know some people have done an arrma spur mod on rctalk but, I haven't looked into exactly have that goes together. I really wish AE or the aftermarket made a metal mod 0.8 spur

i had no idea the v2 had that problem. whats the difference between the v1 and v2? i thought it just had a different body.

Please excuse my frustration but this RC has pushed me to the outer limits of my patience. I’ve had this RC since November when I sold my version 1 and have regretted it since. Less than 5 minutes of run time and it has EATEN 3 spur gears. I try to keep a positive RC mindset and accept that they break but this has been ridiculous. Again I apologize!

The xo8 receiver/esc is garbage. The x07 esc doesn't have the same issues. Mine would dart to the left and other issues after 100 yards. I used a dumbo transmitter/receiver and cheap goolrc 60 amp esc and the problems were solved. Plus, I more speed as well. The stock esc gave the x08 a bad reputation. Otherwise everything else is good. Hosim should have fixed that issue from the gate.
