Life is about the journey, not the destination. Watch videos about me, things I'm doing, things I'm interested in and adventures I go on. My interests and videos run the gamut, so be prepared for variety!
2024-09-24 in & around - here we go again…
Hello all! Well, I’m back on chemo again and figured I’d post this quick update before the nasty side effects kick in. Since I’m only fighting one instead of two cancers this year, perhaps those side effects will only be half as bad. Thanks for your love, prayers and support! ❤️

2024-09-07 in & around - (in)auspicious august
Переглядів 142 місяці тому
Hello again, and thanks for your patience! August turned out to be an auspicious month-and for all the wrong reasons. I guess that would make it inauspicious. Plenty of not-so-good-things happened, but I try to find a little happiness where I can. September (and October) will probably turn out to be just as momentous, so stay tuned. Thanks for your love and support.
a few minutes in Provo, UT: train watching on a Saturday morning in August
Переглядів 1912 місяці тому
I was up north at BYU Education Week August 20-23 and on my way home noticed a UTA FrontRunner commuter train stopped at the Provo station. So, I decided to hang out for a few minutes to see what was going to roll by.

Hello again! Here I am to catch you up on my trip to California, what’s been happening lately and my plans for the near future. This was a much more comfortable solution than attempting to “walk & talk” in the triple-digit heat! Stay tuned to the very end for a brief look at a spectacular war game I participated in with my old friends. See you next month…
a sultry afternoon in Simi Valley watching trains + bonus: Santa Susana depot
Переглядів 1784 місяці тому
I spent about an hour on a hot, humid afternoon at the Simi Valley, CA station watching a few trains go by. Beforehand, I’d strolled around the historic Santa Susana depot; unfortunately, I was there on a weekday when they’re closed. Next time…
morning rush - Chatsworth, CA station train watching
Переглядів 1,2 тис.4 місяці тому
A late-morning rush of three trains every weekday morning including two southbound Metrolink services and a northbound Pacific Surfliner headed to Santa Barbara/Goleta, CA. I was down visiting family on a quick vacation and decided to stop by my “local” station for a few minutes to get my train watching fix. The thing I miss most about living in Saint George, Utah is no longer being even within...
out & about • historic Cove Fort, Utah

A visit to historic Cove Fort in southern Utah is a great place for a quick stop when traveling along Interstate 15. Established by order of Brigham Young in 1867, it served as stage stop, telegraph office and much welcomed resting place on the road between Salt Lake City and points south. It never served as a military fort nor was it ever subjected to attack. Owned and operated by the Church o...

What ho, old fizzgig! Thanks for the update. I'm so sorry you and your dad are facing these challenges. Whew! I shall be praying for you.
Good hearing from you Doug❤ Sending prayers for your health.
Thank you! I have to admit, this is all becoming a bit thick…
Nice vid
Is that smell diesel..?
I'll Always Love You Jesus Christ.
Fantastic demonstration. I love mine and am looking forward to enjoying some manual mode flying with the little controller that I bought for $20!
Cool
Why doesn't it let me use free mode without WiFi? I can only use it at home with WiFi, why? any solution? thank you!
Hmm. I know that you have to fly in regular modes a certain number of times before it “unlocks” manual mode-have you done that? Also, you have to be connected to the Hover’s WiFi network to control it and see the preview. I never had any trouble myself and I’m no tech guru, so I’d have to suggest you contact their tech support.
I love the living tweedle out of my HoverAir X1; I've thus far made most of my flghts in Manual Mode. www.youtube.com/@BDF-
Nice work on the manual mode - not many have covered that -
Thanks! I wasn’t really doing a “review” per se, but just flew it around to see what it’s like. You may have noticed the rotation and gimbal movements seemed way too fast and I can’t find a way to slow them down. Love the drone, though-I use it all the time with its regular flight modes.
So that means the hover can use in viewing air background not only yourself. So your using your phone as remote control sir?
@@HighlandFace94 Yes. In manual mode, the Hover app provides a simple controller screen on your phone that lets you control it like a basic drone. Nothing particularly fancy, but it seems to work okay up to maybe 50 feet away maximum.
Such good news! I keep waiting for you to say "decorous purlieus" ...
Wow, my vocabulary and usage of Wodehousian phraseology has really declined. I’ll keep this in mind for future installments. Tinkerty tonk!
