I believe it was back in 2018, 17 maybe. Sundara had moved to a spacious space in Española, NM. The light was gorgeous, she had set up a bit of a studio with her piano and her harmonium and a few mics and such, I still had my little studio at the Sherman appt where I had recorded so many piano pieces on that same lovely piano.
I'm not sure how Ablatross or Venus and Moon came across Sundara's radar but it did and we decided to record a version.
Years later around 2020 or so Sundara had a rather magical outdoor studio near Elephant Butte in Truth or Consequences, NM. The footage comes from one of my trips to this quite unique and, as mentioned, magical place.
At her studio in Las Vegas, NM Sundara recently remixed the track. We both liked how it came out and thought it would be nice to make a little film for it. I had held on to the footage as I knew something would come one day that would fit organically and this very much did. Hope it speaks you as well.
