To style my first coat I start off with a brown jumper as the coat I’m styling is oversized it’s ok for the jumper to be abit thicker than usual. It’s such a lovely tone and it will complement the coat nicely. I’m mindful of the colour choice of jumper as the coat I’m going to leave unbuttoned so you will be able to see the outfit coming through the coat. I pair with some very flattering flowing tailored trousers with a high waist and I tuck the jumper in to give a more cinched in waist and therefore a flattering silhouette. The fluidity of the trousers allow the trousers to flow better especially when you add a small heel
I start with this oversized coat it is very effortless and a cool relaxed fit. As I am quite a slim build I always push the sleeves up of oversized outerwear one it makes the coat look more effortless but still remaining quite classic albeit oversized and also it allows for me not to drown in the coat as showing your arm breaks up the oversized nature of the coat. I also always keep oversized coats unbuttoned unless I’m belting them so that they do not over power me but I still get an effortless classic aesthetic from the coat. This is a wool coat and the colour is very warming and compliments the tones in the jumper and the warms up the black of the tailored trousers allow for. It’s such an effortless cool yet classic coat to throw over an outfit.
As the next coat is black I went for an all black style I start off with a cashmere wool fitted fineknit jumper and the same tailored trousers in the previous outfit. styling yourself in all black outfit and adding floor length tailored trousers gives the illusion of height which is great if you are petite and want to adde height. If the hem line of the coat is long then long flowing tailored trousers will flatter but if the coat is mid length a more fitted trouser would flatter. This is such a classic outfit and therefore to add interest to the outfit I add accessories a YSL brooch and some sunglasses. This coat is a very classic regular fit smart tailored coat with one button in the centre which is great if you have a big bust but do not want to emphasise it this will draw the eye away from the bust area and into the creature whee the button sits. As this is a maxi coat style it adds height and makes your look taller. You can also add interest to the outfit by adding a hat
Next is a double breasted wool fitted coat with a mid length hem line. With this I have added long boots which stream lines the whole outfit and helps to create flattering silhouetted. A fitted coat mid length coat with fitted long boots rather than a fitted mid length coat and wide leg trousers whic would not creat a stream lines flattering silhouette due to the length of the coat as explained
This reminds me of a dress coat and therefore that’s another reason I have added it with some long length boots. To elevate the all black outfit and add interest to it I add a scarf. The crème colour of the scarf with the contrast of the black really makes the outfit impactful and really makes the outfit pop. It also adds elegance and a feminine touch to the androgynous powerful structure of the blazer which creates a good balance.
I think adding black sunglasses with a black coat really creates powerful boss woman vibes and add subtle drama to the outfit and the scarf creates a feminine touch to me this stricken the perfect balance of femininity and powerful silhouettes.
Next we start of with a classic white t shirt and some straight leg high waisted jeans to create a smart casual look I add a Boucle jacket with gold button detailing
Over the texture of the jacket which makes it look more expensive the. It is and the contrasting gold detailing adds interest and warms the cool tones of the black. It’s such a chic jacket and looks very much inspired by the Celine jackets. It’s a great alternative to a blazerIf you have. I add a gold Chanel brooch to compliment the gold buttons on the jacket and the jam jet also gives me very much Chanel vibes. The smart nature of the jakcetstrikes a perfect balance with the straight leg jeans add some sunless to elevate the outfit and add abit of drama I also add some Chanel sling backs to add to the Chanel vibes.
Next is a very relaxed fit long coat with a high neck. I often use such a coat to elevate my school run outfits or to run errands which mainly consist of trainers leggings or Ugg boots. It’s such a great coat to elevate simple comfortable outfits and allow you to look well put together but comfortable. I add a cap to make the outfit look more cool and when I’m having a bad hair day. I add some trainers and I’m good to go . This outfit strikes the pwerfect balance between looking effortless and comfortable and looking well put together
