I have a picture in my bedroom with his surname in latin which reads Thomas Cranmerus that came from an old Norfolk Rectory. He was a man of his age and very human. Is temperament was one of scholarly comprise. This is reflected in the preface to the old Prayerbook where the preface talks about the public Liturgy being the means between the two extremes of too much stiffness in refusing, and too much easiness in admitting any varation from it. This is seen in balance between 39 articles influenced by moderate Protestantism and the Church Liturgy being based on the Benedictine offices of Morning and Evening Prayer.

Thank you Dr. Luskin, I started my meditation with the practice of Centering prayer with Father Mac about 10 years ago. I’ve attended all of your talks including those with Judith Caldwell. It does take practice and the simple gesture of continuing the practice. I do 20 minutes minimum per day or that’s my goal. It’s become an important part of my life and I look forward to it each day. I find it’s helped me through times of chaos and challenges. Jack
