Cooking With Teens
Приєднався 14 лис 2023
Hey, I'm Anca. Food is pretty much my love language, and I've somehow managed to pass that on to my teens.
This channel is us - in the kitchen, cooking whatever looks good. Sometimes it's me, sometimes it's the kids. We're not fancy, just hungry.
Expect real meals, real reactions, and yeah, some real messes. But mostly, expect to see a family that actually likes hanging out together. At least when there's food involved.
Come join us for dinner. Or lunch. Or our favorite - weekend brunch. Turns out, teens can really cook up some amazing meals.
Hoping that you get in the kitchen with your teens.

Insight From a 14 Year Old on How Cooking Has Helped Build Confidence and Life Skills / Ep 6
Looks good, I just did braised chicken breast (skin on) with spinach siracha cream sauce. Hope it tastes as good as yours looks lol
"I learned that sometimes, I'm the obstacle." What a beautiful note you added in the description. Patience is a form of love indeed. And the last line about dad cleaning up! 😆 I'm glad I found this channel.
Wise mama ~ Looks delicious!
I LOVE these ideas! Thanks for sharing. ❤
I bought TRADER JOES gnocchi for years and then I was at HomeGoods and TJ Maxx and they had a large pack of Noki. I think it was 499. It was double the size of TRADER JOES and the color and the texture and the taste hundred percent better and it was from Italy. Try it if you can. Nice video thank you for posting.❤
Approved
WOW ❤️
@@محمدعلاء-ه7و4ح 🙏🏼thank you!
Nice
@@i_watch_everything thanks!
Looks good but for me there is still blood flowing so not cooked enough Its like just chop its horns off and wipe its arse and serve Its every ones particular taste I guess
You can totally over cook your steak if that’s how you like it. We like a medium steak in this house. :)
@@cookingwithteens yes as I mentioned earlier its individual taste
@@peterlee44😊
garlic makes everything taste better
Always 🙌🏼
This is impressive!! 👏🏼👏🏼
Dax flame!?!?!? That you bro!?!?!? 😂
In some countries, making crepes isn’t enough to be considered cooking
Why does it matter???
I guess we have different definitions of cooking.
Yummy
@@Tiange678 thank you!
Like the old saying if you water it, it will grow or the other one, which you have done with your son give a man fish you feed him one meal teach a man how to fish you feed him for a lifetime
Love the saying about teaching a man to fish. Without a doubt cooking is such a valuable life skill for anyone. ❤
My daughter has woken me up at 3 in the morning to make her crepes several times. Her favorite are strawberries in a sprite w/ sugar brine smoothed in my grandparents' recipe for their doughnut filling and a drizzle of white chocolate. You gotta try baked apples w/ spicy caramel drizzle 😋
All that sounds delicious! Also, waking up at 3am to make crepes!! Wow you’re very generous. ❤
pro tip, reduce the sauce twice as much as you think
@@somebodystolemyflowers definitely! Taking the time to reduce the sauce always makes it better.
that looks fantastic. i gotta do this for my girl
Hope she loves it!
Loojs great. I wish you'd have chopped up the rosemary though.
When I made this I only had dried rosemary(which wasn’t great). I love using fresh and keep it on the stem.
HOD OD YOU LET YOUR CHILD EAT WINE IN THAT MEAL ????
Alcohol in wine is evaporated within cooking time.
It’s in the oven for 3-4 hours. And the alcohol content reduces to almost nothing.
this is a classic dinner
Indeed!
My dad used to keep his fats on the back of the stove. 'Course, the man also used to bread things by throwing the raw meat into the flour container, so maybe it's amazing I'm alive right now, honestly.
😅 sounds like you had some interesting cooking techniques.
I've tried many recipes for chuck roast and I'm eating one now that's probably my favorite. It's a chuck roast with salt pepper bacon fat 3 onions quartered butter and good bit of Lee and Perrins worcestershire sauce. Yeah all worcestershire is not created equal. In slow cooker on low for 12 hours.
I usually don’t like the slow cooker but I’ll have to try it!
Looks like little guy wanted Apple Jacks for dinner lol
Can’t win them all!
Glad to see a mom who is teaching her sons to cook. That is one of the most important skills to help him become self-reliant. BTW, thanks for the idea of saving the bacon dripping.
I absolutely agree on how important it is to teach kids to cook - so many benefits far beyond just feeding themselves. 🙌🏼. And the bacon fat jar is amazing for refried beans and chili too!
Braised Chuck Roast - 3-4 pounds chuck roast, seasoned with salt and pepper - 2 tbsp bacon fat (for searing) - 2 yellow onions, sliced - 8 cloves garlic, minced - Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs - 1 cup red wine - 1 cup chicken stock - 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce - 4-5 carrots, cut on a bias (add 1 hour before it's done) Instructions: 1. Season the roast generously with salt and pepper. 2. Heat bacon fat in a heavy pot and sear the roast on both sides until browned. Remove and set aside. 3. In the same pot, add sliced onions and sauté until soft. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. 4. Pour in the red wine, chicken stock, and Worcestershire sauce. Add rosemary or thyme. 5. Return the roast to the pot, cover, and braise in the oven at 325°F for 3-4 hours. 6. Add carrots during the last hour of cooking. Continue cooking until the roast is tender and falls apart. Serve with mashed potatoes. Let me know if this works for you!
Looks so delicious
@@bellaricci6842 thank you! 😊

Just added the recipe to the description. :)

👌🏼👌🏼
He looks so proud so cute!
Thank you! It’s amazing to see the confidence grow. Another reason teaching kids to cook is so important-empowerment. 😊
when I'm 10years old, mom said "let me teach you cook, at least your fav food" and never been greatfull enough for her lesson 30years later😊
I love that!! You have a good mom! ❤️
Wish my grandmother would have been around long enough to teach me how to cook. My father loved her homemade egg noodles. I never had the opportunity to make them for him. No cookbook recipe could ever teach me to replicate the flavor of family love.
So beautifully said, “No cookbook recipe could ever teach me to replicate the flavor of family love.” 🥹
"It's like the chef's kiss" 😂
😂😅
Nice! Cooking is such a great thing to teach your kids 👍

That's so nice of him! My mom also taught me how to cook and always made the best meals for me, when I was little and now I'm 22 and I love cooking for her and giving her a break. It's one of the most satisfying things to do 🥰
