    I met Max at the Shoot Sig event in Robert, LA last year. Super nice and humble guy. I ended up getting put in a squad with his dad who's also the same way and a great shooter too. There was already a little bit of stress being that was the biggest match I've been to. Add in Max Michel Sr and Jr watching you run a stage it's a whole other level lol

      HAHAHA yeah - I totally understand!!! Best advice I can give is to try to focus on your walk-through on your make-ready. 9999 times out of 10000, they're not paying direct attention to your shooting because they're worried about their own shooting.

    😅 Different subject but easiest way to communicate with you. CCW holder-recently went to store I’d been to many times in Lafayette and this time I noticed a sign way off to side saying no firearms allowed. What would have happened to me from a legal perspective if I’d been “caught “ on the premises with my concealed carry pistol? In some states it’s actually a felony but I’m confident that is NOT the case in Louisiana. Example-you walk in the mall and there is a sign somewhere near the entrance that says No Firearms-what is my liability?

    • @thebrowndukegunshow
      @thebrowndukegunshow 14 днів тому

      Hey @danulman8837 - thanks for the comment! Best thing for you to do is call the range (sentrydef.com) and talk to one of the guys about the specific store and sign. Not knowing too much more about the signage and situation, I *think* that if the store has a "No Firearms" sign, but it is otherwise legal to carry in that establishment, the store personnel can ask you to leave, and you would be obliged to leave - but - no law was actually broken (only their store policy). I, personally, don't teach concealed carry, so please still consult the range staff lsp.org for specifics. That said, I found this on lsp.org: www.lsp.org/services/concealed-handgun-information/prohibited-locations/

    Guns are not going to zero, they are always worth something, especially if they are rare pieces like synchronous serial numbers of special 1911s or a pre ban full auto gun.

      Thank you! I apologize for the video clip because, now, I see that it was unclear. The background to this was that we were talking about how much to spend on an AR. Some people buy expensive ARs, and really love the process of zeroing in their scopes with them, and putting them back in the safe. Of course - do whatever you want with your money, but my thought was that, if all you're going to do is zero the optic and put it back in the safe, you may as well get a cheaper AR, because most rifles will zero. Here's the full show for reference: ua-cam.com/video/DwN8TdqrtTQ/v-deo.html

      @@thebrowndukegunshow oh ok, yea I always buy the cheapest stuff to build with and I’ve never had any problems with zeroing a gun, it’s almost like the ar platform is hard to mess up and companies shouldn’t be charging as much for them just because its name brand.

    Also make sure and know what floor of a building you're on. Aiming up on the first floor of a building is not a safe direction, and aiming down on the second isnt either. You do habe to make sacrifices when you are in a 3+ story building, and having knowledge of the spaces around you is important. Above you is a bathroom and below you is a copy room, the bathroom is more likly to have hard tiles amd pipes in the way and is more likly to stop a bullet. Up in that situation wpuld be safer.

    For everyone saying “Do YoU nOt KnOw SoMeThInG eLsE cAn GeT iN tHe TrIgGeR gUaRd??” They are the people who carry a BlackHawk nylon holster. Buy a f*cking kydex holster with retention and they ALL have a great area that covers the trigger and trigger guard. I’ve been carrying appendix with my WeThePeople holster ever since I started carrying. Guess what? My Glock has never had a ND because 1) I always watch myself holster my weapon to make sure it’s CLEAR. 2) MY HOLSTER ISNT CHEAPLY MADE AND NOTHING WILL GET IN THERE TO PULL THE TRIGGER ONCE MY FIREARM IS IN THERE. They’re not even expensive, like $55 bucks and you have a SOLID, SAFE holster.
