Damn this looks amazing
love the music choice scenery outstanding
Was the handline in Salt Creek? Was it fixed? 0:34
Big Spring or Salt Creek, can't remember which. Yes it was fixed, but a little degraded!
What was this filmed on? It's exceptionally done!
Wow thanks Adam, that’s a good compliment for a noob video maker! All of this footage was filmed in my iPhone 11.
🥰 woooow. what a beautiful trip. I love these landscape so much. BR Tom
Did you get the ring into the mountain?
We got burgers in Talkeetna. Even better!
What size hmg pack are you usually using for trips like this?
I find the 4400 works well for me. I use the Porter w stuff pocket and shoulder pocket.
@@packraftingadventures I was looking at the 4400 or the 5400. My wife and I usually split gear and I was thinking maybe with the 5400 I could carry all the packraft gear and food, and she can carry sleep system, etc in her 2400. Does the 4400 have enough room for 2 sets of rafts + gear?
@@SummitForWellness you’ll probably be better off with the 5400
Those must've been some heavy packs before you stashed the rafts!
Great adventure! What model Alpacka were your rafts?
The light blue/dark blue is an Expedition, the light blue/yellow is a Wolverine, and the all light blue boat is a Gnarwhal.
Thanks!
Awesome adventure, looks fun!
Gorgeous. Look like a dream.
What was the wood situation like on the Hoh? I tried to float it a few years ago and ended up giving up and bushwhacking back to the trail after half a day because there were massive log jams around every bend 😅
Riverwide wood roughly once every mile. Not too bad.
The mountain! The Rafting! The elk! The adventure! Nice!
Nice work.
An epic trip I need to do at some point! Are you living in WA state? I just moved to Bellingham and need to meet more packrafting friends.
Thanks Josh! I actually live in New Jersey. Reach out to the American Packrafting Association region rep in your area, Sarah Kilbourne, at northwest@packraft.org to connect with other local packrafters. Sarah is awesome (and she happens to be the Executive Director of the APA). There’s also a healthy packrafting scene just across the border in BC. I doubt you’ll have trouble finding paddling buddies.
Very cool! I need friends like you.
These videos are rad! Amazing scene with the elk.
Thanks Dan, that means a lot coming from you! Yeah we saw three herds of elk on that river. The encounter in the video was just minutes before our take-out. A pretty magical way to finish the trip.
Jeff- great job
Awesome! Looks like a killer route.
Awesome!
Sweet
I was wondering why the guy in the video had such a large pack until I saw the tandem packraft
Yeah the Forager is definitely a bigger package, but we got his packing system a little better dialed later on in the trip.
@@packraftingadventures Why didn't you just take the Forager for the 3 of you? Either way, stunning scenery!
@@adrianboloveschi4038 that would’ve been unpleasant. What you can’t see in the video (because I didn’t have a GoPro and couldn’t film it with my phone) are the miles of steep, fast and continuous class III whitewater that were demanding even in a solo boat, nevermind cramming all three of us into the Forager. Plus that Forager isn’t as roomy as it looks, it’s a snug fit even for two.
Great video, the hiking was scary. I walked on Mendenhall but stayed away from slopes.
Those latticed lakes are something else. Solid work.
