This cage is fine, but I would remove the levels and fill it up so she has 6+ inches of bedding. She also needs a wheel, 10 - 12 inches.

Cage is much too small even as a temporary cage 😢 you couldn't even fit the correct sized wheel in there.

hi, that wheel is extremely dangerous and the right size wheel will not fit in that cage she needs a serious upgrade somewhere to burrow and much more stimulation

look into bin cages. super cheap and great for hamsters.

I don't think people are trying to be hateful towards you, It's just frustrating seeing time and time again people impulsively buy a living creature because they want it, not even do the bare minimum amount of research and then try to back-pedal and justify why it's okay for them to neglect an animal for x, y or z reason. It's never okay - but it's okay to hold your hands up and admit that you made a mistake and took on a pet that you didn't understand. If you want a new cage for them and you are on a tight budget, why not look in charity shops for something like a large plastic storage tub? There's loads of videos on UA-cam of people making DIY cages out of storage tubs and it's often the cheapest way to give your hamster lots of space. The other option would be a large fish tank/aquarium. I often see them on FB market place free to collect etc too so worth a look! I get the impression that you genuinely want the best of your hamsters but they do need much more space. Female Syrian hamsters (which is what you have) are notoriously the worst for wanting more space too. Pet store hamster cages should just be avoided, they will always be smaller and more expensive than better options and are just a waste of money if nothing else! Also - just to add, a lot of the hate type comments I see come from people claiming to be vets, or vet nurses or someone in animal care. I can almost guarantee you that these are just teenagers, or at the very least are not in any kind of animal care profession. One of the keys to a good vet staff is being able to have a rapport with people and just straight up being rude to them isn’t that - even when you might not agree with their animal care. You’ll never build a rapport and help people to be better for their pets if you’re just rude to them.

Hi, Please please please upgrade your cage. They need 450sq MINIMUM and atleast 6 inches of bedding. but 8-10+ inches is more ideal. I recommend watching Victoria Rachel's channel to learn more about your pet, the weels and the cages themselves are sadly unsafe. Pet Stores focus on money and put money above the happiness of animals. Hamsters arent cheap or beginner pets, they need lots of care and the basic budget for PROPER CARE when getting one hamster can add up to 200 dollars with ease. Please do your research BEFORE getting the pet. Thank you if you could do anything, otherwise is rehoming an option, and that is completely okay. <3
