Story 1 - Be Not Afraid - The Annunciation
BE NOT AFRAID is the first story in ABM's new publication, CARAVAN, written by Stephen Daughtry and Illustrated by Vanessa Daughtry. It is available to purchase at: www.intothedesert.org for $12 plus postage.
The book has eight stories that re-imagine the incarnational arc of Annunciation to Epiphany - and a little beyond. The stories are set in present day Australia, but an Australia under military and colonial rule by a foreign power.
We are invited to imagine ourselves into the story in a new way.
These audio-book versions have been produced for groups who choose to study the book and want to listen together. Or just for your listening pleasure! They are read by Miranda Daughtry and Stephen Daughtry, both trained actors.
"So fresh, so immediate, so accessible and so real. It reduced me to tears and took me to a place of very deep internal silence."
Dr Michael Paterson, Director, Institute of Pastoral Supervision & Reflective Practice.
These stories and their accompanying art are rich and evocative, sometimes harsh and jarring, but always lead us on a journey to rejoice at God’s incredible love in becoming one of us. There is hope in these stories just as there was and is in the original. As the birth and childhood of the saviour of the world was real and happened in real time in a real context and with real people, so the stories of Caravan are very real, and I am sure will lead us on a journey to celebrate Christmas and look forward to the joy of Easter in a whole new way. In Caravan Steve and Vanessa Daughtry have given us a great gift. Enjoy it!
Geoff Smith, Anglican Archbishop of Adelaide and Primate of the Anglican Church of Australia.
The book is available to purchase at: www.intothedesert.org for $12 plus postage.
The others stories are also available to listen to online at: www.youtube.com/@AnglicanBoardMission

Fr Fred Culver, Mathematics subject Master, a former British War veteran, was also the School Chaplin and John Dufil dormitory.....and many others from Australia, England, New Zealand Canada and India 😊😊 😢😢❤❤

the url mentioned at 14:05 is incorrect, and in fact refers to a website which has adult content.
If the Voice gets up then any Australian Government, before enacting any Bills or Laws, will have to consult "The Voice" before they can be presented to the Parliament. This will make "The Voice" a higher Authority than the Government. Think about that. If the Voice gets up then that will open the floodgates for all sorts of other Groups wanting a Voice. like the refugees from the Middle East. Looking at the Original; The Uluru Statement from the Heart. Specifically at Section 2.1. First Nations Dialogue. Page 2.1.2. Assessment of Reform Proposals Pages 11,12,13. I don't mind if there is a simple recognition of prior occupation put in the Preamble. In the Australian Constitution the following Amendments could be made without a Referendum. Below is the Original Document the Uluru Statement from the Heart, from which the 26 Page Document & the one Page Document are taken. Final Report of the Referendum Council | Referendum Council www.referendumcouncil.org.au/final-report.html Constitutional Amendment Wording Chapter IX. Recognition of Aboriginal & Torres Straight People. In Recognition of Aboriginal & Torres Straight People of Australia: 129. Aboriginal & Torres Straight Voice; i. There shall be a body, to be called Aboriginal & Torres Straight Voice. ii. The Aboriginal & Torres Straight Voice may make representations to the Parliament & the Executive Government of the Commonwealth on matters relating to Aboriginal & Torres Straight People. iii. The Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have the power to make laws with respect to the Aboriginal & Torres Straight Voice, including its composition, function, powers and procedures.
This is wonderful, bringing families together and starting with the local families in the Church, 100% beautiful.
Beautiful work that is transforming lives by Zambia Anglican Council Outreach Programme

People need to be truthful
Who are the audience for your video? It's interesting that you have put up subtitles only for the Filipino speakers, but not the narrator
This is the shittiest way to make a documentary, STOP DUBBING IF YOURE GONNA PUT SUBTITLES JESUS FUCK
Very Inspiring
Our forty days of Lent actually take longer than forty days, as Sundays are not counted, they are days of celebration. This first study was interesting; I shall be looking forward to the next one. Oh, there is one thing; you both mentioned bows and arrows, but weren't spears the indigenous weapon?
Dear Bronwen, of course you are correct about the 40 days. Days of celebration are always welcome! We're glad you enjoyed the first study and hope you contuinue to follow the series. A new study will be uploaded each Wednesday. A for the weapons, Aunty Rose seems to think there were both spears and arrows.
Thank you Mark - you have put into words a few things I have sensed for many years but I was unable to get the words or understanding. "The Doctrine of Discovery" has really opened my eyes to the subliminal "white persons psyche". Thanks again for more clarity
Thank you to Steve Daughtry and ABM for facilitating what Chris McLeod is advocating; careful and respectful listening to a range of indigenous voices.
Cheers JDB. One of the roles of ABM is to amplify the voices of our partners in mission. Chris and his colleagues in the Indigenous church have the words and the vision for this time.
A wonderful interview! Thankyou + Chris.
Thank you +Philip! We pray many will agree with you and listen well.
Thank you Steve - encouraging words and a wonderful challenge to think beyond ourselves. Frank Nelson (St Peter's Cathedral, Adelaide)
Cheers Frank, as this Covid19 time goes on we're sure to see the challenges overseas in many places so it's good to be thinking of our Partners. Thanks for all you do at the Cathedral.
I found this video from Steve Daughtry just terrific. It really made me feel part of ABM and all the work with the partners. It took me back to the days of working for the ABM Women's Auxiliary nearly twenty years ago. Especially good to have that news of the people in Vanuatu.
Thanks Sue, that's wonderful feedback. Thanks for all you have done and still do for the work of ABM and our Partners! The Auxiliary has always been an inspirational group.
Thank you for your message Steve. Timely reminder of our family in other parts of the world. My prayers and love particularly go out to the people of the Vanuatu at this time.
Thanks Eron. Good on you for remembering Vanuatu at this time. Huge issues with Cyclone Harold and aid efforts slowed due to Covid19. Your prayers are so valuable.
Great message Steve! Really encouraging and challenging. "Our God reigns!"
Thanks Sidney. There is always light!
Thank you for these powerful remarks! So grateful, Bishop Mark, that you read Janet's "Loving Trek" poem at our 8-8-87 wedding secure link bradmersereau.com/community/janets-poetry/#janets-poetry May we all prayerfully share God-centered unconditional love for our neighbors with congruent actions.
I am interested to help educate illiterate adults. Currently, I am working on my project about adult education. Here is my portfolio, digitalatongs.com
I'm proud to say that it's a great institution set for the illiterate. Really enjoyed my stay there, being attached with them and contribute teaching them. Yes Bernard was my boss, Lala was my workmate and the others. God bless these willing hearts to learn, and also the hard working staff teaching them.
Powerful
Pedophile, he kidnaps children and helps in the kidnapping of children. Stuttering fool, it shows he hasn’t clearly thought of what he wanted to say as he doesn’t know what he’s banging on about.
Great example of the church walking with the people for results
Great to see and hear some of the NATSIAC voices from this year's National Gathering in Cairns. I sense a growing strength in those voices and I hope and pray they will be heard. Heard by the National Church and responded to in ways that build up Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Christians to lead their communities toward reconciliation in Christ. Hello to all my friends in NATSIAC from Mal MacCallum :).
Weren't you beautiful and happy before greedy colonisators came to steal your Dream ?
Agecoutay Anne They have not lost their Dream but the Creator has given them a greater understanding of it. Alleluia! Fr Dan
I found this really inspiring.

Ascention Sunday 2012...We were privileged to have Fr. Drew Schmotzer at our service this morning in Akron, OH at St. Luke's Ministries. St. Luke's is Drew's "home" church and everyone was so happy to see him, share a meal with him and speak with him regarding his ministry. God Bless him as he continues to do God's will.
