Is it possible to download other people’s notes? 😊 May I download your notes? 😊
The lecture slides to one note are a game changer. No longer having to poke over others heads blocking view of the lecture. It’s so nice to be able to annotate only what’s needed rather than writing everything the prof says.
Yo, I just wanna ask on how I can change the overall color for pagetabs the same as yours? Coz on mine only the section tabs are colored, not tab section.
Could u make one for Goodnotes?
This make me miss college lol
Can you show how to print the PowerPoint slides to one note? Or add a link on someone explaining it.
The problem with the powerpoints given to me is that its information that only makes sense when you use it with the lecture videos provided. I'm gonna try following this video, i've got 2 years of notes i need to do lol
LaTeX¡¡!!!!!!¡!¡!¡!¡¡!!!!!!!!!
13:44 any digital pen tablet used here ?
An Apple Pencil!
The clicking needs to be slowed down, but a good informative video.
which digital pen type do you use?
An Apple Pencil!
Hi Kelly, Great work on the video and organizing classes (congratulation if you have already graduated). You mentioned that you are using the iPad pro, do you still recommend that for this purpose? Thanks
Hey thanks! The iPad pro works well for me! I haven't had experience with other tablets, though. Since this video, I have also found that Wacom tablets are good for quick handwriting input, but haven't used it for long handwritten notes such as for a lecture. No sponsorships or anything, and I know iPads are not cheap...just trying to share what has worked for me! :)
@@k-a-youtube Thank you, I ended up buying the iPad pro :)
Thank you so much! Finally a video that is actually useful and not trying to sell me something! Really appreciated it this really helped a lot
How ironic how things are these days .. a REAL and genuine video like this, from someone that took their free time out of their own volition, to make a video sharing insights that could be helpful -- can hardly could be found nowadays
Aw thanks! I am passionate about good note taking! I know iPads, laptops, etc are not cheap....but I wanted to share what works for me in case someone else finds it helpful too
I am going to use every strategy from this video, a real helpful video, just made me realize the power of digital notetaking.
Glad it was helpful!
Free mind is also one of the Better tools for mind mapping
Kelly thanks for this video. I'm using some of your tips for my software development studies.
Do you use a wiring tablet for writing out those equations
I would love an app that would make my lines straight and circles circular. I saw a girl in my class that used something like that, but she used an ipad and I use a windows tablet. Anyone know something like that?
I kinda gave up on onenote atually but this video gave me the motivation to give it one more try. thanks for that! :) much love from Germany!
Very very helpful and concise, Liking and Subbing Thank you
Legend for this one
This video came into my autoplay while I was looking for a good notes demo in OneNote for engineering majors! Thank you so much for taking the time to walk through this, I am copying your template to use through the rest of my studies! Buying a surface for digital notes was the best decision I've made yet.
What version of OneNote is this ?? Were the section group is on the top
Hi! The version with the tabs on the top is Microsoft OneNote, it was previously “OneNote 2016”. This version comes with a Microsoft Office install, eg if you buy Office, or if you’re a student and your school offers it. Note that this is different than “OneNote for Windows 10” that comes free with a windows device (Ie laptop, surface). This version is very similar to the phone/tablet version and has the tabs and pages nested on the left side of the screen. :)
hey kelly if you can make more of this on colorful notetaking and math equation writing tips please do it.
this is the best video on youtube for onenote in the math side of things
how do you add more pens?
In the mobile app, there should be an option to add more pens in the Draw section!
I'm relatively new to digital note taking and you've been a really big help to my messy OneNote structure
Hello, may I ask what monitor setup you are using? thank you! :)
Hi, I use my laptop screen and one external monitor. It’s an older one I had laying around
hey, I'm an electrical engineering student too, if it's possible can you share the notes with me? (Btw I'm 3rd year)
Your notes look good.
Hi Cinar, Unfortunately I can’t share my notes, since they contain content/presentations made by my professors. But I wish you the best of luck in your studies!
Wow !!! Thank you so much for this video ! I am soo glad I found you !!!
was wondering, if you print to onenote say for example a PowerPoint. If i loose the original file would i still be able to see the presentation on my onenote notebook?
Yes! When you print a PowerPoint to onenote, it inserts it as a ‘Printout’, basically just a bunch of images of the slides. So the slides will stay in the notebook even if you loose the original file or move the notebook to a different device that doesn’t have that file on it!
This is by far the best setup for OneNote that I've ever seen. (Personally speaking). BTW, I'm a Computer Engineering student.
Thanks!
can u share your customization settings please
Thanks, Kelly, for the deep dive in actually using OneNote. As one who uses this tool extensively every day, I agree with what you are presenting. For those interested in taking this further * I would also investigate the Outlook/To Do integration to let you flag a line item in your OneNote as a task and then track it through to completion. If you have an assignment, then flag it in OneNote when you receive it with reminders to ensure you don't miss a deadline. * Setup your own schema of custom tags to mark like actions in the pages as you take the notes and be able to collate them quickly using the Find Tags, sort by Tag Title process. Make the custom tag from one of the clickable options and you can track what is still outstanding at any time. * For those in industry setup shared notebooks in Teams/SharePoint and use it as a WIKI for your team with all the group procedures / learnings. This then is the single source of truth for new team members instead of bombarding them with a thousand email/word documents as they try to get up to speed and can be used as a reference going forward. They can sync the document to their PCs / mobile devices for reference at any time. I would encourage people to look deeper into OneNote as it WILL make your life better.
was very excited when the first window surface came out to do the digital note taking, I didnt have time to lean as school started and i was forced back to my old habits. 7 years later after university and now employed i am trying once again to get into digital note taking at work lmaooo. wish i had learned this when i was in school, would have been so helpful
Hey amazing video, just what i needed to learn as I just got an ipad and want to learn how to use it for study more! I was just wondering how you synced using one note with one note for windows 10. I didn't think that was possible!
Yep it worths across the two!
Can you easily control F the words you have hand written?
Yes!
This is your only video on your channel and THE most influential! Thank you for sharing your organization tips as it has proved most useful and I have received many compliments. I have used these tips for two semesters and it has Greatly effected my efficiency.
I’m happy to hear that! Thanks for sharing! :)
You are hardcore. I've been a mechanical design engineer for more than 20 years. I just found this video and I'm getting some great tips!!! (I don't have "classes", of course, but I have many customers and many projects. I've used OneNote off and on over the years, and I'm just now really getting back into it. This video is just what I needed to realize the power of this program. Thank you! (It would have been so cool to have had this in school 25-30 years ago!!!)
Great job Kelly and love your approach.
how did you condense your different subject notebooks into one for the semester?
why is there a blacksmith in the background?
Excellent tutorial. Thank you! I’m a longtime OneNote user & last had formal education 44 yes ago, but learned ideas/techniques that will be useful.
Ótimas dicas! Obrigado.
I try one note today and its amazing i will try to use the highlight color guide you use kelly, thanks for the video
Thank you , I really appreciate it.
Great video thanks!
How do you go about turning your class notebooks into one semester notebook? Do you have to manually copy paste each section?
Hi! Great question, I could’ve clarified that a bit better. My school runs classes by semester (two semesters each school year), so it was a natural organization strategy for me. I would guess yours is by quarter? In that case, you could do notebooks for each quarter, or yes, like you said, copy and paste sections over. The key is to use what ever strategy works best for you!
Yeah so right engineering stundend are underrepresented in these videos
Thanks for this video. Please bring more of these videos. More tips and tricks. ❣️❣️❣️
