Huge chunks of ice passed through Grand Rapids,Ohio on 3/16/2014! We don't live in the area but just happened to be back for a visit that day, lucky us! This footage was taken by me from Providence park just across the river from Grand Rapids.I must say that this was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, you need to watch the entire video and turn up your speakers. It’s very nice footage. Did anyone else get the glitch at about 1:20-1:30. Where the base of the ice stretched then retracted a couple of times, yet the top stayed straight.

Yes, I caught the glitch. The glitch didn't happen until after I put the footage on UA-cam.

I'm not surprised you were asked to move back, that's quite close and those things can clog up, and back up or pile up quite quickly.

After I moved back I noticed there was a guy with a camera standing just as close to the river as I was. The ranger said the other guy didn't have to move back because he was from a local newspaper. Well, whatever.

A lot of minerals and cool rocks getting spun up in that I saw some of the ice went to the floor so it must have something in them? Love it

I would like to use 3 minutes of this footage, for a video of the song River, it's not for commercial use just as a backing video for a friend of mine, who has sang the song beautifully " I wish I had a river to skate away on". would you be Ok with that? , ? I think it MIGHT just sound and look great together, (just a suspicion YOU UNDERSTAND) and there again maybe not!!! it would be interesting to see if the 2 together would compliment the song, PLEASE CHECK OUT THE SONG FROM "The Monds" "River". first, thank you for your time.David.

We keep our pontoon boat at the Mary Jane Marina across this river. Good thing they take the dock out each year.
