Evolving Skies is still absurdly high and this set is very similar to it. Scalpers are trying to make a new version of it, and it's based solely on the popularity of Eevee. I hate to say it, but i genuinely believe Eeveelutions have been marked as the new "Charizard" in terms of value. So they'll most likely continue to target Eevee based sets.

The bots are fast. I managed to get one Pokémon center etb preordered for myself to open and enjoy because I got an email announcing they were available to preorder. But seeing all this chaos makes me concerned that those are the only packs I will ever see. With all the pretty card arts I was even thinking of seeing about making my first master set. I love eevees. I’ll see what happens after release based on how much is printed.

Honestly, this is just the system of supply and demand. For instance, if scalpers bought something that was not in high demand they would have trouble selling it and they would be left with a lot of money lost. The only reason they do this is because they can make money because people are willing to pay way more then it's supposedly worth well I can tell you one thing if people are willing to pay more for it, that means it's worth more which is why people are reselling it. If you don't want people to do this then people need to stop buying at the higher prices
