Severus Snape isn't James Potter...
Poor snape
I've always wondered if it was possible for Lily and Severus to fall in love and I actually believe there could have been a chance of it happening. I love the idea of 'love', but I don't believe it is truly limited to just one person. What I mean is that there is no such thing as 'true love' or 'the one' as romance stories and movies say, but rather that anyone can fall in love with anyone. All it takes is the right connection of personality and the way how two people can be around each other. I believe if Severus had left behind the Dark Arts, Sytherin and Voldemort, then he would have become a better person and would have been able to be worthy of Lily. The same went for James Potter. He changed in the 7th year and won Lily's heart because he became the person who Lily could be with. The same can be said for Severus. All he had to do was change.

My problem with this is that it implies lily had feelings for snape. She never loves snape like that but she fell truly in love with james and I think they're perfect couple.
+Brandon Layne The video implies the truth. She loved Snape, but gave up on him when she couldn't make him change his mind about the death eaters (said by Rowling) :) My guess is she eventually fell for James, but she really couldn't stand him at the beginning
tsukigalleta She loved Snape as a best friend only...re-read JK's comment. Lily could've POSSIBLY returned his affections if Snape hadn't been caught up in racism and dark arts. It's subtly implied in the books and interviews that Lily had a slight crush on James earlier on but didn't want to admit it.
+Brandon Layne I have listened to Rowling explanations. Of course Lily had a crush on James, she wouldn't have just gone with another guy out of nothing, but James was her second option. Her feelings for Snape were romantic feelings, not friendship feelings. She had to give up on her own feelings
