Hi, I'm Elsie, a retired Federal Government Computer Specialist and Consultant with over 40 years of service. I retired in January 2024 and have been looking for ways to stay busy. I now work full-time in my garden, where I have become addicted to succulents. I started getting interested in succulents two summers ago, but I wasn't concentrating on it because I was still working. Since retiring, I have been concentrating on taking care of succulents and need to stop buying too many.

Sempervivum or Echeveria???
I watched a UA-cam video featuring a succulent with a death bloom, which looked similar to mine. Formerly, I believed mine was a sempervivum, but the video caused confusion. It was included in a succulent arrangement, but seemed mismatched with the others, prompting me to remove and repot it independently for closer examination over the next few weeks.

Sempervivum- Death Bloom

According to UA-cam, death bloom is a natural part of a succulent's life cycle, but I was surprised to see it happen so quickly in a young plant I purchased from a grower. I bought these cobweb sempervivum two months ago, potting them in two different containers. However, they don't look healthy, making me unhappy with their growth.
