Spamming armor alone is a dumb strategy. It is a component of health tanking. It's not dumb, you're just using it wrong. If you want to health tank, which is by far the most comfortable experience (shield gating can piss off), you need 3 sources of DR if you really want to take it into SP, and 2 of them should be 90% or close. Adaptation (when it's stacked) is 90%, armor that isn't stupidly overinvested in like this "build" is typically around 80%, and then you add in a DR ability of some sort - either from the frame, or from helminth. Add health and a way to heal (Arcane Blessing, Arcane Grace as examples) and you're fine up to 1k+ in SP. If you have to use a helminth DR ability, the average frame with 1500 health (stacked Arcane Blessing) will end up with around 300k EHP on health alone with 99,5% DR (90% * 80% * 75%), while the better candidates with a built-in 90% DR ability will end up with 750k EHP (again, counting only health). That said, 1500 health is kind of on the low end in my experience, so you can relatively easily end up with around or over 1 million EHP. My current Ember build has something like 1,25 mil EHP, for example. Because she has a built in 90% DR ability, and I also happen to use both Arcane Blessing and Archon Vitality - the latter not for tanking, but because of the heat status duplication effect. You also still need shields, but mostly to allow Adaptation stacks to build safely. Run a sentinel with the Guardian mod.

I think it would be cooler (frost) so that passive gives you duration.

Cold Changes: Cold now has a maximum cap of 10 stacks (was 9). Applying 10 Cold stacks to a foe will make them Frozen for 3 seconds. Frozen enemies cannot move, will not recharge Shields, and receive double Critical Damage. After the Frozen effect wears off, 3 Cold stacks will remain. Patch notes At least something works as intended 😅

i have also played mostly frost and have over 3K hours i love my boy Frost but his 4 is the main reason i can play him i wouldn't mind a rework/buff to the rest even without the bugs most of his kit is outdated and power crept

Assault is a fun id, simply because you’re practically egging the enemy to try and clash over his 3. Only for them to find out why they shouldn’t. The coolest clash lost I got was when I was in the whale dungeon and he judgement cut ended flotsam with it. Than filtered the captain for out rolling him.
