This clip is ripped from a VHS recording of The Country Beat, a syndicated Canadian country/roots music TV show, circa 1992. Features interview with Mack MacKenzie and the "Love to Rain" video.
That is just an amazing performance of that gorgeous song
Oh so many memories.....
I was lucky enough to see them twice with Peter Cash...1st time at UBC Thunderbird Stadium (Great Canafian Party I believe), then the Starfish Room a few years later in Vancouver...Peter Cash and Andy together singing was magic..I miss that
So glad I found this. I had taped it on my ol trusty VCR. Don't have one of those to even know if I see have the tape. Seen them 3 times live. Look forward in seeing Jim this fall in Vancouver.
Fax machine really dates this masterpiece 😂 51 and just loving this 😊
@RealCanadianSeniors ❤
I remember watching this when I was a kid, 6 years old. Loved Blue Rodeo, The Hip, back when we used to have a country.
such great music, shame it's done nothing for your attitude
Wednesday, August 5, 1992, to be precise.
that was great!
2:19 might be the alternator, could be the coil.
Holy cow how old is this?! They’re all so young here. The Much environment used to be a blast
It is so cool to see people just standing there and enjoying the show. NO PHONES! You miss so much of the joy in actually being present and part of a music experience trying to get a completely junk video. I still love this band!
I remember this exact moment...when the drummer can off his set, and Andy and him started playing Patty Cake to Leslie. It was then that I became a fan for life. Thanks a lot
❤
For me Lynn Miles is as good as music gets. Thanks so much for posting this wonderful early vid and for giving me my first ever look at the remarkable Ian LeFeurve. Terrific!!!
A great songwriter. I bought "Bring the Family" in 87'. Music for free men.
Love this old school video of Blue Rodeo - love these guys always ! A Canadian treasure !
Alanis Morrissette hosting at 9:03! Lynn's gorgeous voice and melodies shine as bright as Alanis.
I think Greg is the Canadian Tom Petty lol
I was at that show. This certainly brings back memories. I'm still a big fan of Lynn.
The woman who asked do you have women got owed!!!! lol
Hard core real reporting unlike todays fake bull shit world

I made an audio cassette of this from the VHS Tape I used to record it when it was on. Nice to actually SEE it again after just doing the audio for all those years.

Blue Rodeo best ever, thoughtful reflection in the beautiful poetry of their lyrics, great musicians.
Oh how I miss what I wish. Please tour the west please
Bob Dylan stated that he was not of the Caliber of John Prine regarding song writing. I never saw or heard Mr.Dylan reference MR. JOHN HIATT. BUT IT'S a toss up in my opinion. These performers won't be around Metaphysicly or just dirt in the ground. John's already resting peacefully. Listen to the big three I've me ntioned. You won't be disappointed.

Meeting Jim caddy was a lot of fun he rocks he is my Herero the best man I ever meet our meet meeting was fun that night
Thanks for posting this …. It’s a great record of Blue Rodeos progression …..
Fine early Blue Rodeo. I’ve been a fan ever since before this (from Canadian radio) but I never saw them live until sometime in the 2000s since then I’ve probably attended 20 or so of their concerts between western New York and southern Ontario. Perpetually one of the best bands around
Daniel Lanois is a true teacher, and a living legend. I remember of him just like this because I was in the audience when he played in Athens, Greece, around that time (1993-1994) on a July afternoon and I had the chance to meet him in person for a minute or two, enough to find out he's a Virgo with his natal Sun in conjuction with Saturn in Libra. Actually I am a writer and I dedicated one of my poems to this man depicting him as the "mage of the tribe". I believe in him, he's so quiet and explosive, "expressive" being an understatement. In 2003 when I returned home after a travel abroad to find out if a true love really existed there for me, this true teacher healed me with his "Shine" album he released that very year. "Fire" cannot even be categorised as a masterpiece... is purely angelic. "My shine will be complete with your fire"... So glorious... infinity's words from pure infant lips; Oh Love so behoved to those infinity ships! (allow me to place right here this verses of mine, written in English back then, as a tribute to this teacher). We love you Daniel Lanois, you are a modest giant!
I was twelve when this aired and it was a fairly big television event in my house. My mom and me had decided at that time that I was going to get my cut like Cuddy, but secretly I desired hair like Keelor.... Well, what do you know,, 2 years later I had hair past my shoulders and felt pretty darn good about myself. Thanks Blue Rodeo, thanks Greg.
damn, that's everything a song should be.
LESS IS MORE. I like emmy lous version as well.
nice to see #ParachuteClub #LorraineSegato 37:00
MUCH and City-TV had so much creativity and used their space so well. Those days are long gone. Lost Together album here, a harder edge than before. I became a fan watching this live.
A song about BR playing the Erie County Fair .. to only a small number of folks .. those lucky few
LOVE watching this again! :)
🙏🏼❤️👣
Superb!
Remarquable! Merci!
Pure Canadian Soul
Thanks for this....My favorite album...in a field of amazing work by this man.
There has to be an audio recording of this or matching demos that need to be released. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
“Dark Angel” with Sarah McLaughlin has to be the most beautiful Canadian song ever written.
It's weird to think they tried to market Daniel Lanois through television and promotional MTV-style performances like this. I gotta wonder how many people saw this back in the day who'd never heard him before and became lifelong fans.
I did about three months ago he is a master, I love his message !!!
Watched this on tv as a teen, wanted to work at Much...then, somehow...did. Would watch this show over and over and, still do.
thanks for posting this...
