Honestly the best advice on the double-stroke roll I've ever heard.... accent the SECOND note. When you play it fast it sounds smooth.

Based on all the recent A/B analysis I’ve seen on UA-cam regarding bass drum single ply vs. double ply heads, I’ve observed the opposite of what this video says: single ply = more attack and less woofy low end and double ply = less attack and more woofy low end

I had this DVD back when it came out. 32:00 get out of your head and into your hips concept changed my playing style drastically. It was like learning to draw without a ruler. 💥
