Stitt from Reservation land- that would stop THAT in less than 48 hrs. They would be arrested if caught encroaching onto the newly expanded Creek Reservation lands..which is the entire land area of Tulsa and all about. They wouldn't be legally allowed to go home or work in Tulsa, if they were determined BANISHED by the tribe government. Yeah. Thank you for addressing the issue of Tulsa Public Schools not reopening yet. Many TPS students and parents have felt manipulated and “bullied” because they have not been given choices that even epicenters of COVID outbreaks have been given far earlier in this situation. Many of us do not have the money or resources to move to another school district and so we feel stuck. If this were to happen again could the chance of vouchers be an option? I like the idea of being able to choose another district as well. Anyway, thank you for standing up for us...that is the opposite of bullying.

I hope it was worth the high number of positive Covid tests that we are now seeing and the possible deaths linked to the rally that Oklahoma politicians didn't have the guts to say NO to two weeks ago. In my original email (which I sent to you and several other Oklahoma politicians), I begged you to consider the elderly in making your decision. Your response was a generic message. There wasn't any definitive answers or expressions of empathy in your reply email. I knew then that I was wasting my time. I will admit that my husband and I didn't vote for you in 2018. However, we were impressed when you first took office and started making plans for our state. We liked a lot of the things you were talking about doing for Oklahoma. We liked that you had a large family, which made us think that you would put Oklahoma families first and foremost. However, we can no longer consider voting for you. You knowingly put Oklahomans in danger. You had the science in front of you. The Tulsa Health Dept pleaded with you not to have a rally. Then, when the rally was not cancelled, they pleaded with you to make masks mandatory. By allowing a rally to be held in Tulsa that did not enforce mask wearing or social distancing, you created a breeding ground for Covid. The fact that Trump's team went in early and pulled the "Please do not sit here" stickers off the chairs (that the BOK staff put on the chairs for social distancing), was just another slap in the face for Tulsa County. BOK was actually trying to do the right thing by trying to social distance people, in order to prevent the spread of Covid. I do not understand how politicans can act like this in the middle of a pandemic. As my mother sits in a nursing home praying to see her family and dog (Rascal) again, we helplessly watch the numbers climb in Oklahoma. I call and write everyone in Oklahoma that I can think of that might be able to help us. I feel like the eldery do not matter in Oklahoma. They are being locked away and forgotten, to possibly die alone from something else, like a heart attack or stroke (both of which my Mom has already experienced this past year). The amount of suffering this virus has caused so many families is almost too much to bare. In my original email to you (a couple of weeks ago), I explained that my Mom suffered a mental breakdown due to the nursing home lockdown. She had to be transferred to a geriatric psych hospital in Muskogee for 11 days. Then she had to quarantine for 14 days, when she returned to the nursing home, before she could return to her room. She finally returned to her room on Monday. I have not seen her (inside the facility) since March 12th. Unfortunately, the elderly in this state will remain locked down in nursing homes until there is a 14 day decline in the Covid positive numbers. Thanks to your decision to allow a political rally, the numbers are climbing; therefore, she has to continue to live in isolation away from her family. One of the worst things about this lock down is that I can't get into the nursing home to verify anything that the staff tells me. Other than phone calls, I can't check on her well being. For example, I happened to call her during her dinnertime last week (she has to eat in her room alone) and she told me her dinner consisted of pork and beans, cut up hot dogs, and canned beets. I immediately called the nursing home front desk to confirm that was truly what she had for dinner. A staff member confirmed that "Yes" it was the dinner she was served. Because of Covid, they don't allow family to drop off food or have food delivered. Before the lockdown, I took food to her because she didn't like the institutionalized food. I can't imagine that anyone would enjoy eating what they serve the elderly in these nursing homes. I must ask, "Would you eat that for dinner?" I don't expect any type of positive feedback from you regarding this email. I also don't expect anything to be done for my Mom and the elderly nursing home residents. I am a realist and I know the reality of politicians actually putting politics aside and truly helping people is slim to none. Throughout this pandemic, American politicians have shown how low they rank the elderly in this country. It is shameful. I write this email to express my disappointment and frustration with our Oklahoma politicans and their decisions, regarding Covid, in this state. I write this email to express my disappointment and frustration with our Oklahoma politicans and their decisions, regarding Covid, in this state. I implore you to remember the elderly in your future decisions as Governor. They are suffering alone and in isolation. They need their family members, especially in these last years of their lives. This is the review I posted on Saturday about the nursing home that my mother is in. I included my opinion of Governor Stitt's Covid response and how it has affected my mother's care. I am devastated, frustrated, angry, lost, and alone. Something has to change: It has been over 5 months and we still CANNOT see our loved ones, who are locked down in this facility. According to staff members, there may be no end in sight. Despite what the Governor's guidelines state, the owner has complete power to continue this lockdown. So even if we could meet the Governor's unrealistic guidelines, we may still not get back into the facility. In my strong opinion, this violates the residents' civil liberties. Over the past few months, I have repeatedly emailed the Governor, Mayor, Tulsa City Council men (and women), and multiple news media outlets. Nursing home residents are truly suffering because of the bad decisions of Oklahoma politicians. No one seems to care about the elderly and what this is doing to their mental health. WE HAVE TO CALL THEM OUT FOR THE HORRIBLE DECISIONS THEY ARE MAKING REGARDING COVID-19. I continue to do so, but my mother is now on hospice and I am running out of time. Therefore, I am posting this review. I have tried EVERY else to bring attention to this situation. I am looking for help from other family members and friends of residents. Anyone in Oklahoma who is struggling with these same horrific issues, please contact me. I need help to bring this injustice to light. Our family members need us! They are isolated and alone. I feel like, at this point, they have less rights than Oklahoma prisoners. I have repeatedly ask for more communication from the owner of this facility. I still have not received one single piece of mail regarding a long term plan for COVID-19. My mother is dying and I desperately need information regarding his decisions, which are keeping me from seeing her during her last days. Something has got to change. This facility has been locked down since March 12th.
