It's not nice being tailgated by another vehicle especially a HGV/LGV or any vehicle for that matter. But help is at hand? Make a note of the registration, time, place and any other information about what happened. I'm a motorcycle instructor, so I'm teaching youngsters on mopeds. My advice is to find somewhere safe and pull over, not to slow down and encourage a dangerous overtake.

On my bicycle I always pull in to let motor vehicles past as soon as I can, which is normally within 20 seconds. However, if I'm being tailgated I slow down, take the lane and don't pull in.
