My site includes a variety of videos. Some are historical and family oriented and many capture our travels to Europe, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. RonsMexico.com was a Riviera Maya resort rating tool that was popular in the late 90's thru early 2000's. Those trips to Mexico in the late 90's inspired many of these travel videos. I still have older footage that I need to edit and post and we have new trips planned that we'll share as well. Enjoy!

VASA Ship Museum, Stockholm, Sweden
Переглядів 921 день тому
The Vasa Museum is a maritime museum in Stockholm, Sweden. Located on the island of Djurgården, the museum displays the only almost fully intact 17th-century ship that has ever been salvaged, the 64-gun warship Vasa that sank on her maiden voyage in 1628. Great museum with many artifacts from the ship and information on how it was recovered. Many levels of viewing, must see! This is an attempt ...

Great European city, suprisingly good visit. Great city to stroll and see the sites and enjoy the food and architechture.
Never heard of the Cleveland guardians, what sport do they play? Does cleveland have two baseball teams now. I've heard of the Indians but not these clowns
The Guardians don't really exist. Everyone here still calls them the Cleveland Indians...Go Tribe!
Looks like a very nice town.
That is not to far
Nice place

Nice little film Ron.
noisy chiming but lots of traffic? you mean lots of traffic but lovely chimes? Traffic or no traffic as a Brit the sound of those bells warms my heart. Thank you for uploading
Hello there, I'm a historian from the U.S. and those bells give me goosebumps when I hear them. Words cannot describe how the sound makes me feel, but there is no denying that the sound is very beautiful. That is something we definitely do not hear in the U.S. every day, especially not here in Florida. You Brits enjoy that beautiful old clock tower!
@@artemis2520 have you noticed that the bells sound extra crisp and musical since they were cleaned up and their hammers adjusted so they do not 'smack' the bell but rather 'clip' the bell as they did when the tower was erected.
@@PinkPanther4958 Yes, they sound a lot clearer now. Are they louder than they were before? I have never been to London and I have only heard the bells over recordings, but they sound a bit louder now. I don't know, perhaps my ear is untrained.
@@artemis2520to be quite honest they seem to have become quieter but that is due to the adjustments made to the clappers. As you know the tower uses a victorian turret clock to power the dials and the bells which use a system of cables to pull at each hammer to play out the Westminster chimes. Over time the clappers have become worn and as a result the bells have struck louder than usual. Since the 2017 works they have become a little quieter but have a more vibrant tone. If that makes sense.

Great vid my friend well done.

Did you enjoy staying at the resort?
Yes, we enjoyed our stay in January. Especially, the off shore private island. We had butler service which was also nice, excellent service on the beach and in the room with reservations at each restaurant.
That’s great to hear! We just booked a trip there for May
Been going to Parsons for 54 years. I hunt there and go there frequently all year long. Live in Maryland.
Hello. My family and I are going in January. Just wondering if it's too cold to swim.
We were there in January and were able to swim; of course it is weather dependent, but we were in the water alot in January. We had many 80+ degree days and were able to go in the water on the private island of Sandals and on the mainland.
Live in Md. I've been coming to Parsons for 53 years. I call it home. Comment added September 2023.

Cool Video!
Cool memories!
Looking at the cars,it appears to be in the 60's.
It looked like it was already shut down then, known as the Victoria Theater on 211 Walnut Street,it later caught on fire and was demolished in the late 1960's.
So sad! Located on 211 Walnut Street in Patsons West Virginia known as the Victoria Theater.
Congratulations Class of 2023
Good place to go for solo adult travelers?
I went solo once. The resort is nice and the town continues to change over the years. Some night life, maybe not many traditional night clubs, but you can always find a bar/restaurant with some activity. I like the area, the sargassum (some form of sea weed) has gotten pretty bad in the summer months. This place is excellent in mid-January.
Great footage. I recently bought a beginner drone Ruko U11S and went to do a video at Hinkley Lake. It came back shaky so I slowed it down to help minimize the nausea as I watched it. I got the FAA exemption registration and passed the TRUST exam, my drone won't fly above 164' on the settings that I have it on but I'm curious, is it legal to post the video on UA-cam for family and friends? It is for recreational purposes.
We're here Ron, along with you and Winston!
Looks like a wonderful resort, Ron. Lovely beach area and beautiful blue water! Looks like some great shows in the evening. Thanks for bringing us along.
Love the aerial views of Parsons. Lovely peaceful town. Great place to grow up! We love the area, Ron.
Enjoyed your video from Blackwater Falls State Park, Ron. They're beautiful falls! We have several up too. In fact in one we walk down the very same trail out behind the lodge as you do here. When we got to the bridge I think I mention the "No swimming" sign too. Sadly the lodge was closed on our last visit but we've eaten in the restaurant before. Beautiful views out behind it! We've been to the area many times and love it. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
Yes, I do believe that was our room number! Good eye! First floor of Noname Cay, 1st room to the left past the staircase.
Is that room 734?
Thanks for the video! How much did you pay for the chairs and umbrella? And what time did you arrive? (We don't arrive until 12:30...wondering if there will be chairs left.)
We arrived later in the afternoon, likely around 2:00, we spent the morning at our resort. It was a little crowded, but not too bad. We also didn't get chairs, just stopped by for a couple beers at one of the local bars. Nice atmosphere; enjoy!
Barbie dolls were a new gift for girls at that time! I wonder how many kids then got a Hula Hoop for Christmas & knocked ornaments off the tree when they tried using it?
