Turkish Marble cake /Turkish Tea Time
Переглядів 3173 роки тому
In Turkey, tea is consumed all day long starting with breakfast and continuing right on through until bedtime. Offering tea and drinking tea together is a gesture of friendship. "Teatime" is usually between three and five in the afternoon, where tea is served along with delicious sweet and savory biscuits and cakes.

Way to complicated! U don’t need to do all those steps . Slice very thin with food processor. Take out seeds. Use 1/2 of peel with flesh plus 1/2 juice . Add a little pectin and sugar boil few minutes ! done ! There are easier and better recipes than this one
How long does it take to boil the lemon from the first boil to the third boil?
I did each boil for only a few minutes, but for the final cook I let it simmer for a long time. It takes a long time for the peel to soften down, like 3 to 4 hours.
@@jasonk5251 Noted, thanks for the info
20,000 views and only 348 subs -- that is a shame. I concur with @00XChrissieX00. I remove the zest first, then I peel the pith. I boil only the pith, 3X as you show. Then I combine everything when making the marm. The best thing about making your own marm is that you can cut the pieces as big or small as you want. Personally I dislike chunks and slith the pith very thin and in short pieces. It is like a sturdy or more hardy jam.
I love your recipes but Could you not abridge instead of showing three times the same process?
A
Delicious 👍👍👍
Uhumm, i feel as though that all the needed nutritious are being thrown out....
What type of pot do you have and where can i get it?

I once tried to made this, when i make for day 1 the taste is good, but then in day 3\4 it started to taste quite bitter.is it suppose to taste bitter after few days?? (This is from my own recipe)
In my recipe I used Meyer lemons. is not quite as sour as regular lemons, and their peels are smooth and not as bitter. They make wonderful marmalade. the longer days in a jar the more tasty. Just make sure u use Meyer lemons
how long will it be good for?
Once opened, marmalade should be refrigerated and used within 2 weeks.
You can store jam and marmalade for up to a year if properly canned. You only need a pot big enough to hold the Ball type jars submerged in water. We make 30 jars at a time of lemon and grapefruit marm and jam. We're canning this weekend, as a matter of fact. Ciao.
What’s the reason for boiling the mixture 3 times ? Thank you
to offset the tart and bitter notes of the citrus
Looks yummy tita..
How many lemons do you need . Love your recipe 😊❤
9 meyer lemons and 1 orange
Thank you for sharing. I think Auntie Saniye's method will retain more of the nutrients by boiling 3 times just on the peels only :)
I use 9 lemons and 1 orange.Thank you
yummy..
Amazing good job always thanks from Australia
thank you
If boil 3 times and pour away the water will the taste less fragrant?
nope.the aroma and taste of lemon skin still there even I boiled 3 times
Will this work if I boil them only once? We have a sweet lemon and not bitter one
yes you can.just extend your boiling time until gets soft .Meyer lemons are less tart and have peels that are less bitter than regular lemons. If you use regular lemons for this recipe, your result may be too sour and bitter. I boiled 3 times to make sure I get rid off the bitterness of the lemons.it will rinse out everytime you drained the water.and the result is perfect.
I just made this and it's DELICIOUS! So easy too! Thanks for sharing!
